My dog had an allergic reaction to vaccines. I told the vet of the previous reactions and how they were handled in the previous state we lived in. Showed the records of exactly what was done to prevent a reaction. Was told precautions that they were taking were enough and she would be fine. Within 10 minutes of leaving she began to vomit. I was told to bring her back. I did and they said she looked ok. I said I thought her tongue looked pale. They took her back to do an ultrasound which confirmed she was having an allergic reaction. Was told they would monitor her but were closing in an hour so I could stay until they closed. At closing was told if anything at all changed to take her to the emergency vet and we would be reimbursed. An hour after we got home her face started to swell. Took her to the emergency vet only to confirm again that she was having an allergic reaction and it could be serious but all they could do was monitor her because she couldn't have more meds for another hour. I took her home, gave her Benadryl at the appropriate time and just stayed up watching her all night. The next day no call from the vet (I was told they would call to check on her) I finally called before close of business to remind them of the reimbursement of my emergency vet bill. Normally I wouldn't have done that but at that point I was annoyed. I was told they would be filing it with the vaccine company. I was finally called two days later in the afternoon by the vet to say that she misunderstood and that I would not be getting reimbursed. I was floored. I couldn't say anything kind so I got off of the phone and sent an email to the practice manger explaining the details. I received an email back saying they would look into it. Hours later the vet called and said they had to "open a case" with the vaccine company and they agreed to reimburse. I shouldn't have had to go thru that. They should have stood by their word to pay for an emergency visit. No questions. It was likely not a large amount of money for a vet practice but it was not something I had to throw around and it was definitely the principle. Such a shame. I was hoping to find a good vet close by. read more

Docs are fantastic! Unfortunately we were given the wrong medication for our feline not once but twice. They claim they were confused as to who I was and what pet the medication was for. Lack of communication and not checking prescriptions can lead to poor outcomes. read more

Beautiful vet clinic, staff was great, only waited about five minutes to be seen. Brought my one year-old orange cat in, had some problems with his stomach. Dr. Logan was great. Kind and patient, gave taco., that's the cat a fulI check up and made suggestions on what the problems could be with his stomach. I would definitely recommend you checking them out. I've been visiting Palencia Pet Clinic since 2014. They've always been great! I decided to bring my cat in to investigate a possible urinary tract infection. I asked if they could squeeze me in, and they found an appointment for me the same day. The doctors here are so kind and really do care about your animals. After a 10 minute urine test, they discovered there was no UTI. All was not lost. They suggested he may be stressed, and prescribed a mild anti-anxiety medicine. They also suggested that I add more bathroom options. I hope to figure the mystery out soon. Thankfully, I have a caring and guiding vet. Btw, they have a coffee station in the waiting room. And, if you download their app, you can snap a pic of your pet for their selfie wall! How cute!? read more

I have been using for almost 4 years for all three of my animals. I had my first negative experience today. I have an urgent matter with one of my dogs and unable to get in until next week. I fully understand it is Memorial Day weekend coming up but would hope they would have been able to take walk in urgent issues. Disappointing that I will have to emergency vet for after hour care where they do not know my dog. With the moving into a much larger building and adding more vets I would have hoped the service would have continued to be excellent. What was once a great neighborhood vet has seemed to have vanished. Been quick to take my money but when I really need them - they are not there! read more

It was bittersweet leaving the clinic where my veterinarian is retiring, to a clinic I have not used before. However, Palencia Pet Clinic made the transition easier. I was able to transfer my pet's health records electronically which assisted the new veterinarian in reviewing my pet's information. The clinic is spacious, clean and bright, and staff are unanimously friendly. My senior pet was treated gently and with respect. I was kept informed about the procedures and prices. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years. After loosing my pet in 2012 never thought I would have another baby. But we adopted a beautiful Staffordshire and have brought her to the clinic since she was 8 weeks old. Last summer we needed to go on vacation and get the vaccination and nails done before our trip. I explained all this over the phone before we arrived at our appointment. When we arrived was told vaccination could be done but not nails. I would have to reschedule. Two visits later in same week paid nails where done. Almost missed our vacation. Again called this year with same request. I was specific on explaining I wanted a regular checkup, vaccination and nails. Once again because my dog was not feeling well she was prescribed some garbage medicine. No test done 15 minute and released stated that 10 am was too late to do the rest. Today while dropping off pet explained my concern and everything was done then noticed a $101 prescription that I was told afterwards may or may not calm my dogs stomach. I guess when you build a multi million dollar new facility you have to hack up the price and charge as much as possible. Never coming back. read more

Dr. Pete is our family vet. He's there single most trustworthy doctor of any type I've met. He explains everything in great detail and shows incredible compassion while doing so. The facility is super clean and well-organized. They are an efficient bunch too. It's like being in the kind of place where you know all will work out for there best. Let me tell you about these INCREDIBLE human beings! In the last year, my (not even 2 year old) puppy has been bitten by a rattlesnake, severely punctured by a dog bite and today sliced her foot almost to the bone. When I adopted a dog in Feb, I took her to this clinic. In spite of all their wonderful care and concern , she had neurological problems that simply could not be overcome. I had to have her euthanized, the only humane thing to do. Dr Veling was the most caring Veterinarian I have come across in my 40+ years of owning dogs. Today I received a sympathy card from them , not with just one line of condolences but each person in their staff wrote a paragraph plus a donation in my Ellie's name was made to Veterinary Care Charitable Fund. We rescued our pup Geraldine and took her for a visit to Palencia Pet Clinic. The doctors treated her skin infection and worms and gave us some "parenting advice" . She is now 100% healthy and happy. Just moved to the area and live nearby. Nothing to lose trying a vet within biking distance...everything to gain. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The vet...wicked A-mazing. He was gentle and caring with my pet, treating her frequently throughout the exam and treatment. He took his time explaining his recommendations, and made the effort to calculate the most economical choice is Rx treatment. I've never met a kinder vet, coupled with high standards and a healthy commitment to ethical decisions, communication, and treatment. Sad to learn he is semi-retired...you can be sure I will make appointments far enough ahead to hit his schedule. read more
