Showed the records of exactly what was done to prevent a reaction. Was told precautions that they were taking were enough and she would be fine. Within 10 minutes of leaving she began to vomit. I was told to bring her back. I did and they said she looked ok. I said I thought her tongue looked pale. They took her back to do an ultrasound which confirmed she was having an allergic reaction. Was told they would monitor her but were closing in an hour so I could stay until they closed. At closing was told if anything at all changed to take her to the emergency vet and we would be reimbursed. An hour after we got home her face started to swell. Took her to the emergency vet only to confirm again that she was having an allergic reaction and it could be serious but all they could do was monitor her because she couldn't have more meds for another hour. I took her home, gave her Benadryl at the appropriate time and just stayed up watching her all night. The next day no call from the vet (I was told they would call to check on her) I finally called before close of business to remind them of the reimbursement of my emergency vet bill. Normally I wouldn't have done that but at that point I was annoyed. I was told they would be filing it with the vaccine company. I was finally called two days later in the afternoon by the vet to say that she misunderstood and that I would not be getting reimbursed. I was floored. I couldn't say anything kind so I got off of the phone and sent an email to the practice manger explaining the details. I received an email back saying they would look into it. Hours later the vet called and said they had to "open a case" with the vaccine company and they agreed to reimburse. I shouldn't have had to go thru that. They should have stood by their word to pay for an emergency visit. No questions. It was likely not a large amount of money for a vet practice but it was not something I had to throw around and it was definitely the principle. Such a shame. I was hoping to find a good vet close by.

But most importantly protect your brand, ensure your team protects your brand, ask yourself, could I have done better. Don't entrust your babies with this company if they cannot fulfill their promises and deliver a lasting impression and show that they care. We were told that is how she needed to be for all future visits. Went in for surgery today and we were told her sedatives did not work enough, and because we had questions regarding the care and why the sedatives where necessary she got very rude, passive aggressive, over ruling and condescending. She then said she would no longer see her and canceled our reschedule surgery date after already having us spend 800$ on "necessary" meds and other things. She upsells medications and gives 3 times the amount needed, causing us to spend even more money that was not needed. On multiple occasions she said our dog was aggressive for simply looking at her and told us to watch our hands and face when we have them near her face, she also makes rude remarks in regards to personal relationships. She also refused to do a blood draw because she forced a muzzle on her and then my dog got scared because she wanted it on so tight it broke, they also used multiple leads in different parts of her body to control her when she is just fine on a harness. If you have a large breed or any bully breeds do not being your dogs here as she will automatically label them as aggressive. Below is my baby who is as sweet as can be, she has been mistreated by Dr Kaiser and I would absolutely never recommend this lady to anyone else. Following up on the remark we just got, she just had her surgery done at allied veterinary specialist where I spoke in lengths with them about "possible" aggression, they said that she was very talkative but not aggressive. We also just got an update on the completion of her surgery where the doctor said that they had no issues and they did not need heavy sedation before even going in to the visit. They care and have an overnight required stays but said that due to her anxiety they would rather her be sent home to be more relaxed. They've never said anything about aggressive behavior and know that she has separation anxiety. The anxiety was in her chart and you viewed it as aggressive and ignored everything that we her owners even said about her behavior. She had been seen by 3 vets before we took her to your clinic where they said she was sweet just anxious about being away from us. She was given medications to help with anxiety when we leave her at home, which have been helping. She had no issues going to the vet, she never barked and was always eager to meet the vet and staff and after going to your clinic she was scared to even go inside another one. They went to place a lead on her today and it terrified her because yall medicated her so much placed leads on her hips and neck and pulled from both directions and forced a muzzle on her which traumatized her. Her behavior were different with you because you were more focused on the money going in your pocket then on her needs, dogs know who to trust and who is a good person. Which you are not.

She struggles with major GI issues that all logic would point to her being near death each time. I desperately needed a vet I could trust with her life and my mental health. Everyone at Animal Medical Clinic is fantastic. Im not just saying that cause the front desk is nice.. That the vets costs are fair and they are trustworthy... Or that our dogs enjoy coming here... Although those statements are true... I'm saying they are fantastic as in crisis they are the glue that keeps us together. I can feel confident in what they recommend for diagnostics. Dr.Russell is comforting, personable and a wealth of knowledge. We have had health emergencies in the past with other vets and left scrambling. Dr.Russell and his team handled everything all the way down to the little details. Which in the moment felt pretty big. My precious Halo is healing from yesterday's life saving surgery. I'm just in awe of how this all went. I'm forever thankful to Animal Medical Clinic. We have three Dobermans at different stages of life. We are happy to make the 45 minute drive for their care. We were clients at this clinic since moving to Jacksonville and, while our experiences were always…read morefairly average, our most recent visits were extremely disappointing. Our biggest concerns were pricing, communication, and transparency. Routine care became significantly more expensive with little explanation beforehand about what services were recommended, optional, or necessary. We paid over $225 for bloodwork and never received the results or a follow-up regarding them. We also had an issue with a booster appointment. Before the visit, I specifically asked whether there would be an additional charge and was told there would not be because the vaccine series had already been paid for. We were nevertheless charged $57 for the visit, despite there being no examination or consultation with a veterinarian. This was later refunded and we were told it was a error after we followed up on this a second time. We pushed back at the clinic but were told we were incorrect at the time of payment. In total, we spent more than $600 on what we understood to be a routine wellness visit and standard vaccinations. After we shared our concerns, the clinic chose to end our relationship as clients, effective immediately. This was not something we requested and left us needing to find a new veterinarian while making sure our dog's medication and ongoing care were not interrupted. We had hoped our concerns would lead to better communication. Instead, we were left disappointed by both the original experience and the way our concerns were ultimately handled. Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend this clinic.
