BBQ was very good, really enjoyed the brisket but my personal favorite was the smoked wings.

I love their wings. Their Yellowfin Tuna Dip is fantastic too. Wife had the burnt ends and sausage plate and I thought that was decent. Coleslaw and Potato Salad were the sides and no complaints, both were great. Their bottled sauces at the table were better than the wing sauces (I ordered them naked, with honey bbq and garlic parm which was actually a vinegar based sauce). Seated outside (our choice), chairs were hard patio chairs a bit uncomfortable and the table was slightly off-kilter. Not sure what other Murkey Waters are like but ours has turned into a high priced / cheap food restaurant. If you count on the tourism industry, they come once if they don't like it they never have to come back. But, for those of us who live here; you're losing our business. And we carry you. Wanted to like it, service was good, some weird drunken drama at the bar, but that wasn't their fault. Food was rewarmed BBQ, it likely would have been tastier when fresh but burnt ends were fatty and cold, at least warm them so the fat isn't chunky and white. Brisket was dry and very mediocre. It doesn't have to be this way. A true pit master would be embarrassed to serve this low level effort BBQ. Had much better BBQ at the Dallas airport, that's a hard statement to make. read more

Our server Michael was helpful and polite. He checked on us frequently. Food was reasonably priced. It was about $65 for three people. Atmosphere was good. Well, perhaps I should have tried this place a couple times before giving it 5 stars. So, It's hot out...you're looking for a nice "cool" place to have a meal. You've just finished telling friends new to the area about this air conditioned BBQ joint you've recently tried. With great expectations of cooling off, grabbing a cold drink and a late lunch we belly up to the bar. The first thing I notice is the thermostat at 79. It's 85 degrees outside in full Sun. With the nice breeze and some shade easily competes for the uncomfortable indoor "79". I remark to the bar service person asking if she'd please turn the thermostat down making it cooler. I'm told "I can only turn it down two degrees", which doing the math would put it at 77.... it's suggested by energy corporations to reduce home cost to keep your a/c at 76. Ok, so I ask to speak to the manager... she chimes in "I am the manager". My mind is reeling right about now at the tone of her voice declaring her ranking status. Clearly she had no intentions to work with me so my friends and I can enjoy a meal and a few drinks. Customer service undeniably takes a back seat to a "power trip". I couldn't believe it. The first time in Markey Waters I couldn't have been more pleased. Our "manager" provided exceptional service! I told her I didn't hand out "5 Stars" out easily but that her impecable service earned her the dove star review. So.... call before you go, see who's "managing", go in the evening when it's cooler inside. If you receive the same attitude spare yourself the irritation and spend your $ elsewhere. in this economy there's absolutely no reason for a "manager" not to honor a simple request so you can dine in comfort. read more

I use to go here all the time and it was the best. Not anymore! They change items on the menu and replaced them with cheaper quality food and it is no longer any good. They use to have the best pulled pork nachos they replaced the cheese and the new one is gross. They replace the sourdough bun on their sandwiches to a regular cheap bun. They replaced their fried okra with a cheaper quality okra edible but the old was way better. This place went from a five to a two. read more

Burgers are disappointing, made with pre frozen meat patties. I didn't expect from a MEAT BBQ restaurant. Left much to be desired.

I came here on a short beach trip and it did not disappoint. All of us really enjoyed our food and was craving it again days later. We ordered small nachos with brisket topping as appetizer and the brisket serving may have been forth of cup. Meat was all fatty.
