He took the money for a job for my dad's bathroom who is elderly and dying and has no money and I paid for it from another state where I live. I paid this man $735 cash via a cash app. I live in the state of Washington. My elderly dying father who lives in Richmond Maine needed his bathroom redone a little, an O-ring a proper seat and some grab bars to get up and down from the toilet and to hold onto in the shower. All this plumbing company did was show up put an O-ring in and do nothing else because I'm in another state they think that's OK. This is the second time Sean has done work at my home. I had a leak under my kitchen sink, in some older plumbing. Like before, he was immediately responsive and travelled to me in the foothills within a day. He showed up promptly and was equipped to complete the job and had the materials on hand, rehabbing or replacing the old parts. Sean was amazing - I'm reading the previous reviews and they don t make sense to me! We spent several hours to try to get someone who could come to take care of an issue. Sean responded quickly and it totally worked! He is a veteran and we like to utilize veteran-owned businesses if we can, but seriously - this was amazing, both in speed, and in outcome! I contacted Murphy Plumbing on 3/1/2022. I own Sisters Gourmet Deli and needed a couple of projects done - 1) repairing our 3 bay sink faucet and 2) fixing some old plumbing pipes. Sean came out on 3/6/2022, looked at the jobs and immediately told us he could do the work. He said he'd be back on Sunday morning to get started. He said he'd need a deposit in order to book his day out because it would be such a big job. I agreed, and he sent his Square invoice. It was for $3,925. I paid in full immediately (see photos). Sunday came, he showed up late, and scoped one of the pipes. He then said it was a bigger job than he originally thought and he'd need to come back at a later date with an excavator. Since then, we have not been able to get in contact with Sean about anything. Originally, we were just looking to schedule the next batch of work but since he completely went silent, now, I just want my money back. He is holding almost 4K of my money and won't pick up a call. Yesterday (3/7/2022) I texted him and said if I didn't get a response and refund by 5:45 pm I would be reporting him to the BBB, Maine State Plumbers Examining Board, as well as Capital One Business (the card I used to pay the invoice). He called me at exactly 5:45 and said he's just been really busy but he was headed home to process our refund. Well, it's now 8:30 am 3/8/2022 and no refund, no email, nothing. All his reviews are versions of the same. Unfortunately I was really desperate time-wise to get someone in here to fix things so I believed all his BS stories, He told me ONE woman one time was upset with him for not taking a job and that she's the one making tons of fake accounts to ruin him. Sean Murphy is an Active Scam Artist. He has taken a large deposit from my business and has not done any of the agreed upon work. Sean has gone radio silent and will not answer texts or phone calls. He has not issued an invoice for the work done and returned any of the several thousand dollars held as a deposit. Please do not use Sean or Murphy Plumbing for any of your needs no matter how dire your situation is. He is actively scamming people, and we should have seen it, he has no actual address for his business listed. And several other people have reported similar issues with Sean. Another customer RIPPED OFF! Sean Murphy did work for us a few months ago so we hired him back to uninstall and install a dishwasher and run a water line to the refrigerator. He took a deposit of $600 and we made an appointment for 2 days later. He never showed up to do the work and we have been unable to reach him by phone or text. BEWARE - Sean Murphy owns Murphy Plumbing and has no plumbing license. He took $3200 from me for a shower install, upon asking to see his plumbing license, he told me he didn't have one. The address to his "office" is not listed on the website, so when I asked him the address he said he didn't know where it's located. He fake called his "office manager" to refund my money and then tried to flee the scene when he realized he'd been caught. Police showed up at my place and ticketed him for a vehicle that hadn't been inspected or registered in 2 years, and an expired drivers license that was under suspension. Someone had to come to my residence to drive him home and take his vehicle. This man is the epitome of a conman, I know several people personally that he owes thousands of dollars to. Run. Do not let him in your home. This person will take your money and literally run away. read more

We called Sean Murphy Plumbing for three plumbing jobs and had good results. On the fourth job we were ghosted. Prepaid $1701 for shower faucets, stems, and a new toilet and installation was never completed. Very disappointed that phone calls, texts, and emails were never returned. Disappointing because we wanted very much to support a veteran owned business. Regretfully this is not a reputable business and makes plumbing services in Auburn-Lewiston look bad. read more

Responded very quickly on Yelp, but on the agreed day, never showed up. No phone call. No email. Message on Yelp says "tech called and we weren't home" -- I work from home. My wife was also here all day. We have three phone numbers and and email address they could have used as well as Yelp message. Nothing. We spent time last night cleaning out all the cupboards so they could access the pipes everywhere. That time was wasted and we'll have to do it all again for whoever we use that actually shows up. read more

Murphy Plumbing came through for me when I had a clogged sink. They showed up right on time, quickly understood the issue, and went to work. I was able to explain the issue using the Yelp app and booked my appointment through it. It's always tough to schedule plumbing, but they could accommodate me in a few days. Sean, the owner of Murphy Plumbing, helped us with some toilet repairs in a downstairs basement after the original plumber/contractor left us with a few problems. Sean responded to our request in a timely manner and showed up when he said he would. Apparently that seems to be not the case with most plumbers anymore. Sean was COVID-19 compliant, took the time to explain the problems, fixed what needed to be fixed immediately, and then made arrangements to fix the other outstanding problems. He did a great job. I especially liked how he explained what needed to be done to me. I felt his prices were very reasonable for the time and effort involved. I found Sean to be a pleasant, very capable individual and would highly recommend him. read more

I asked Murphy Plumbing to come unclog my kitchen sink. I was told by text that a technician would be sent out. The technician tried and failed to remove the clog and told me I needed to replace all the pipes and dishwasher connection under the sink. He also suggested I replace the faucet with a spray-included model. He installed the faucet, but failed to leave the paperwork for the new faucet fixture. The faucet and pipes were replaced. The hole in the sink edge need to be covered where the separate sprayer used to sit. The technician said the hole cover he had was too small and he would order a larger one. During the pipe installation, the technician splattered glue on the linoleum which was not discovered until too late and it was dry. He said he would return with solvent to remove it when he brought the larger hole cover. He has never returned to finish the job. I have asked repeatedly for the past month, texting one or two times a week, for the faucet paperwork, the hole cover, the solvent and an itemized bill for the $950 I paid him. He responded once after the first text saying he would look into things get back to me. He does not respond at all to any of my continued texts. I am completely ignored. read more
