I travel a lot for work and I train in various martial arts. I dropped in here to take party in their sparring session. It was a fantastic technique based spar. I was a complete new face in the gym and they new I was only there for one day but they could not have been more welcoming. Terry and Christina, the owners, are fantastic people. They teach a technique tree called superfoot. It's tricky but crazy effective. They were pretty patient with me as they thought me the basic concepts. LOVE this place. I took my son into class where another child told him he couldn't sit with them because he was not of the same race as them. When I confronted the owner, I was told they would talk to the child. However, while we were talking, the Master lined up all of the students of this race to take a photograph. All of the children of all other races sat on the mat watching. Yes, the child was wrong for treating my son that way, but I feel that Lee's Martial Art's encourages this behavior in separating the children by race for advertisement photographs. In a place where discipline and comraderies are part of the curriculum, they should NOT be teaching children it's ok to leave kids out based on their race. Why not show diversity and honor in their advertisements? We left the studio mid-class. When my husband called this morning to explain that we wouldn't be back, the owner refused to take responsibility for their part in this and only blamed the child.
