Passing through, stopped in for a quick beer and appetizer Easy parking, the place was filling up at 5pm on this Wednesday. First: the good. The place was relatively clean, bathrooms were relatively clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. The craft beer was delicious, and cold. Bad: Do not order any of the nacho appetizers. Major disappointment and expensive. They were overcooked nachos that were tasteless and dry. There really weren't any toppings that I saw other than cheese and jalapeño peppers. Not a good choice at all. The potato skins tasted like they were fresh out of the box, and quickly micro zapped Plus, the place was kind of funky with the set up of how you walked in and waited for somebody to greet you and seat you All in all, not a big fan of the place. read more

The Good - staff is attentive and very nice. Some of our dishes were good others were not so great. Grilled chicken Sandwich - dry. Cauliflower buffalo chicken flatbread - dry dry dry. Did not taste the buffalo. Burgers - both were great. The steak tips were a 7/10. The drinks and beer top notch!!! The bad - the patrons - I have never seen so many people give us dirty looks and just outright stared at us. We were a mixed bunch - I am Hispanic, my kids are mixed with Jamaican, a girlfriend who was a Hispanic and a friend that was white. It's just awful how people just don't like being around people of color. Again, no reflection on the staff we had- and that's why I left a 25% tip on a $187.00 bill. Great place to eat in the area. Always busy and don't be surprised if you have to wait for seating at a table. They have a big bar area and many like to seat and eat there. Plenty of friendly staff. Our waitress Cassidy was very nice and helpful. Nachos portion seemed to be smaller than usual, but good. Sandwiches were very good too. On a gorgeous "top down" evening, a friend and I ended up at Murphy's. I'm a sucker for a good Irish pub and, since neither of us had been here, we decided to give it a whirl. Ample parking. A few outdoor tables near the entrance and many more on the patio. We decided on indoors. Our server, Jamie, was in training, and she'll be an asset. Unobtrusive, but checked on us several times. Very efficient and professional. We ordered a hot pretzel as a starter. My friend had a Cubano melt sandwich. I had a classic cheeseburger. We both had fries and a Stella draft (ok, ok, I might've had two....just don't tell my doctor). The pretzel came with two dipping sauces - a spicy mustard and "not sure what it was, but it was pretty good" other dip. The pretzel itself was ok, nothing that knocked our socks off. And apparently not as good as one from a place down the road that she really likes. My cb was spot on. Definitely not a patty, had a brioche bun, and a nice charbroiled taste. If I had to rate the burger, I'd rate it 5-star. She thought her Cubano melt (combination of ham, pulled pork, and cheese) was very good. Both of us thought the fries were not crispy enough (and I asked for them well-done). Atmosphere was nice...Murphy's is a solid place with a very varied menu, good service, and very safe. read more

We got our order in for drinks after 10 mins then waited 20 mins and never got our drinks, walked out. I usually do different places when I do Yelp reviews and even try to do a place once a month so you out there know the deal & today I decided to go here for a dinner for myself. Place is definitely got seating for tables or bar (that I did) & staff got me water for beverage & selection for burgers I went for the Cowboy Burger with fries (two things I had omitted was cheddar cheese & ranch dressing & pickles I informed them to give it to another one so it wouldn't go to waste) & photos will accompany. Bar is well stocked with beer, wine and spirits and also many TV's for sports fans and MA Lottery tickets as well (never know). Only thing was place was a tad noisy and kind of wish that they could have the bit separated from the bar (my own opinion though). Now everyone knows. Maybe they will get a chance to have their food for the Shriner's Hospital as they did with the Jimmy Fund before Chez Josef sadly folded (idea for the management team to consider) & also that Jimmy Fund was my initial discovery of this from the start-go figure. read more

Got brought over to a table that was not clean, waitress never came back to take my order. I had to order at the bar. Then I never received my drink. By the time my food came, the people I was with were already done with their meal. The waitress never apologized. Service was not good. Food was ok. Good fries. read more

Stopped here based off the reviews while we were in town. Excellent beer selection as well as good food. We started with a small plate of boneless wings (whiskey glaze). I had the Reuben and a ceasar salad , finance had the fish and chips. Everything was excellent! The portions of the fish and chips were huge! Another update! I don't know why it took me so long to give Murphy's Pub 5 stars. Anyway, we continue to appreciate having a place that we can depend on for a good dining experience. Such a friendly bar, GREAT bartenders. Lots of TV's to watch your game. Outdoor seating. Draft list continues to impress. Scott is very serious about his choices (of beer) and we thank him for that. The wings are the best in the area-go on Thursday for a deal. Burgers-very good. We ask for our fries to be well-done. Tots are delicious. Love the slaw. Honestly, I have to say that every time I go to Murphy's I always have a good meal. This time was no different at all. The bartenders are quite friendly and attentive, and seem to know their stuff. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is light and fun. I started off with an order of pub chips served with bacon horseradish dip on the side from the appetizer list. The chips are made fresh and honestly with how simple they are, excellent. Every chip was very crispy, golden brown and flavorful. On top of that, the bacon horseradish dip takes things to a whole new level. Onto the main course, I ordered the Murphy's Stuffed Cheeseburger. The first time I had gone to Murphy's years ago in probably 2015 I vaguely remember how good it was. It did not disappoint at all this time either. The burger patty itself is incredibly juicy and with the addition of cheese melted straight in the middle it makes for a wonderful meal. Admittedly I should've let it cool down because of how juicy the patty is, it is quite hot. The bun paired excellently with it and with the typical lettuce, tomato and onion combination everything just works. I was given the option to either get French fries (which I've had before, excellent!) or pub chips. This time since I liked the appetizer so much, I got a side of the pub chips. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience and I will happily stop by Murphy's time and time again when I am in the Agawam area! read more

Steak and cheese grinder very tasty and fish chips were crispy and flaky.Very very small outside patio area not adequate for a crowd and inside is dark and dull, with stale air ! They need some light very drab.It has the ambience of a funeral home. I would dine here often if it wasn't like going to a wake atmosphere. read more

We were very upset that the previous negative situation had taken place. It is nice to know though that this particular business supports veterans, especially US Marines. First time here, got take out. Two southwestern salads and added steak. I brought one to my husband on shift at the hospital. Our reaction- we have to go back there to try more of their food. Steak was the exact temperature ordered and I was torn between eating it separately or mixing it into the salad because it was better than many filets I've had. From calling in to picking up and paying for my food; I can comment toward their customer service and say it compliments their food. I am disappointed to post this review. But, it had to happen. This is my 3rd time In 3 weeks that I have had less than stellar service. I love hazy IPA's. 3 weeks ago I was recommended a new one. Absolutely loved it. Ate dinner and 4 beers later got the bill. $14/beer! Seriously! No warning....no heads up! Yikes! Last week...service was just ok. Missed a few Keno draws, but it was busy. Today....20 people at the bar. 2 tenders. 20 minutes before I was even recognized. Finally, got my Keno and got me a beer (not the $14 one!). No menu. 2nd beer, no menu.... no "would you like to order?" I miss my guy bartender. This place has good food.... but some of the female staff need to recognize that women tip good too!!! Awesome Smithwick's Beer. The beer system must be very clean as this draft was very crisp & clean. The large hot soft pretzel with warm cheese sauce and spicy mustard was fantastic.
