This chicken and burger restaurant ran out of hamburg patties. I should have left then. The waitress didn't bring silverware. We had to ask for it after our food arrived. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with blue cheese but was served dry chicken with a slight film of what I guess was supposed to be the buffalo sauce and no side of blue cheese. We had my daughter's graduation party there last night and I can not say enough about the space and service. Angie was who we worked with leading up to the event and she was so very helpful helping us plan and guiding us on the amount of food to order for our party size. Angie and the bar tender working with her worked tirelessly worked to keep the drinks flowing and the food filled. They really went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed and that everyone was having a good time. All of our guests complimented the food, room, and staff. I ended up ordering naked wings with spicy garlic on the side. Spicy garlic sauce is just the right amount of garlic and heat So the thing I'm a little disappointed in is the crop duster half portion of salad. Yes I love this portion size of the half.. But I was very disappointed in the quality of vegetables that they put on. They were just not fresh and included the iceberg lettuce which had a lot of browning on it. Mostly the cucumbers looked like they were cut from a day or so ago and they were just not fresh.. Also on my wings the celery also had a little bit of indiscretion of freshness. I ordered cheese curds. And then got called after that they didn't have cheese curds. (In this day and age, tou can't update your inventory online accordingly?) so they offered mozz sticks. $7 for 6 mozzarella sticks was soul crushing. $17+ for the attached really spoiled the lunch for me. I got mild hot sauce, and it was mid. Not outrageously delicious, but not awful. But not worth the price imo, the breading kept falling off and the pieces were ... a shape lol. Also really loved the folks standing 2 feet from the door in a cloud of cigarette smoke. Really boosts the amvets dive bar shithole ambiance. I really don't know what is happening at this hanger . I've been here no less than a dozen times , and been to the other Hangerspots in Amherst and so Hadley's. The place was empty, so others are figuring this out. One food item was burnt, one order of chicken wings was cold, and the French onion soup was tasteless. Yesterday 9/28/25 the dinner service was unacceptable. Took over 20 mins for even the two beers my party ordered to come to the table, on top of this I placed my food order at the same time as drinks. I got the dc10 which is a small portion of wings for my party to share, we were looking to have a quick bite somewhere we could watch football. The chicken took just under an hour and a half to come out which honestly is unacceptable. I felt terrible for the waitstaff and bartenders, in fact I saw them with tears in their eyes multiple times throughout the night. I know our servers were not to blame as my food came out piping hot. It was extremely obvious how understaffed they were, the management here is simply incompetent. At the bare minimum I expect management to visit our table and apologize for the wait and explain a bit of what was going on. This was one of my favorite places for chicken in the area but after this I'll have a hard time returning. read more

Stopped here while passing through on a road trip. We just hAd to stop here because of the theme - we are flight attendants! Really cool aviation theme going on here - both in menu items and decor. Food was genuinely pretty good and service was super friendly. Our favorite flavor of boneless wings was the jerk chicken! We came with our toddler and all were very friendly and welcoming to him. This is the worst of The Hangars in our area. We've gotten food poisoning a couple of times and just wrote it off to employees leaving chicken under the lights too long. This last time we tried again (after a couple of years) and the buffalo chicken didn't have any sauce, the old bay chicken tasted like plain chicken, and everything was just so heavy and gross. Do yourself a favor and go to the South Hadley or Amherst locations - especially if you've only been to Westfield. You'll never go back to this location willingly. read more

I have been here multiple times to eat wings and drink beer. If that is what you are in the mood for, the Hangar is a great place. This 4 star rating is based on consistently getting good wings, this place having a good beer selection that is served cold, and having good service. The Hangar has always delivered the goods in these 3 key areas for me. It can get crowded at peak times, and since it is seat yourself, if you go in at peak time you might need to wait. You should be prepared, or plan differently. I have found the rub based wings to be the best. I love them. I especially like the Mesquite and the Mustang Ranch ones. Service is poor. Extremely unfriendly and non attentive staff. BYOPT- Paper towels on table are so poor quality they crumble in your hands. Don't come with kids, even tho they have all those games. No kids menu or catering towards kids besides having milk. Waitstaff don't have enough training. Rule 101 if you see kids ask if they want their food to come out with your apps. Kids food was the last to come out. Food was never offered to be cleared off table probably because we were never checked in on while having our meal. Needed to find the waitstaff for you check. I always enjoy this place. I grew up going to the original Amherst Hangar, and this location has proven to be just as good. I've been here many times since they first opened. Always a good experience. I'm a huge fan of WINGS OVER bone in wings but when I come to the Hangar, I religiously get the 'crop duster' salad with grilled chicken, garlic parm rub on chicken and Caesar or blu cheese dressing. It's always the same good quality satisfying portion salad at a great price. I like that you can order it as a half size too when you just want a little something not fried. Always a great beer selection, It's hard to go for lunch and resist getting a pint because they always have something I want to try. I've tried many of their menu items over the years and you really can't go wrong. Most people get the WINGS boneless wings, which are pretty tasty. I'm always trying to Follow more of a keto or low-carb diet and I get the bone in wings with mustang ranch and Cajun blackened dry rubs a lot. Amazing nachos, wraps, waffle fries, onion rings, fried pickle chips.... even the ribs aren't bad. Would recommend this place for a solo trip, a date, a family dinner or even a small group dinner. Lots of TVs with different sports on them if that is your thing. The waitresses and bartenders are usually pretty awesome (both pretty and awesome lol) and I couldn't recommend this place as a solid regular spot in downtown Westfield. read more

The Hangar Pub and Grill is one of my regular stops when I'm in Westfield, MA on business. This casual restaurant / sports bar serves a wide variety of craft beers on tap, along with coolers full of beers, porters, stouts, and ales. You'll find the Hangar along School Street, just a block or so off of South Elm in downtown Westfield. The restaurant sits behind a drive-through bank, and the parking lot can be a bit wonky, but your patience will be rewarded. The Hangar has a large bar area, and then booths and high-top tables along the wall in the bar area. There are also two other dining areas, and an upstairs section which is packed whenever Tom Brady is playing on Sundays. Check the wipe-off board as you walk into the bar, and that's where you'll see the listing of craft brews on tap. I encourage you to pass on your usual Miller Lite, and try one of the excellent local brews instead. The restaurant is known for outstanding wings (more on that in a moment), but you can also order entrée- sized salads, burgers, sandwiches, ribs, and special entrées. On this trip, I ordered the Wild Bleu burger which was grilled Angus beef seasoned with Cajun spices, and served with crispy bacon, melted bleu cheese, and a mountain of fries. I have also ordered their incredible wings, and really like the garlic parmesan dry-rub variety, with their cheesy waffle-cut fries. You can order the wings at your table, or enter through the carryout entrance (Look for the sign that says 'Wings Over Westfield'), and take these tasty bits back to your hotel, dorm room, office, or house. Nom, nom, nom! In addition to the normal sizes of wings, The Hangar also offers 25, 60, and 120 wing packages, which can be ordered as boneless or regular with all sorts of flavors, extras, and sides. The manager has the absolute worst attitude. We walked in and there were 4 servers and not a single one of them sat us down, and he sat and stared at us and didn't take any initiative to sit us down.
