I recently switched from using a well known pool maintenance/cleaning company to MurrElls Pool Services and I could not be happier. First they identified that I had a leak that was leading to some loss in pressure and bubbling in my pool, something that had been going on for years and the other company never even brought up. They repaired this issue quickly and efficiently. Then the time came to get my filter cleaned. Again they came over and did a great job. I had not seen my cleaner fly that fast in a long time. My pool pump/motor quit working and I called MurrElls for a cost proposal. They were very prompt in providing a bid which was lower than another bid I received from a different company. I approved their proposal and they were out to make the repair when they said they would be out. Cody did an excellent job replacing my pump/ motor and took the time to show me how the controls worked. Our pool has been serviced by this company for about 2-3 years now. The first pool guy we had was great. We had a storm and a lot of run off and are pool turned into a swamp. We knew we needed to change the filter and decided to put in a salt water cell. All of this went well. Pool was sparkling clean after. Soon after that the regular pool guy changed and has changed multiple times since then. We have had trouble ever since with different concerns. Most recently was that our pool was not getting vacuumed and within a couple hours of cleaning when the water settles there was dirt on the bottom of the pool. I must have texted / spoke with Cody, the owner, about 4-5 times for this same problem over the last serval months. He assured me it was getting vacuumed per his guys report. I informed him my husband talk to the guy (he admitted to not vacuuming, said sorry, and thanks for not telling my boss) and that we have a ring camera in the back yard which showed he was not bringing in a vacuum hose so there was no way he was vacuuming. 2 weeks ago we get notice our bill was going up by $20, no big deal just please make sure to vacuum the pool. Cody was at our house when he called and would be servicing the pool that day. I mentioned we were out of state due to my father in laws death and mentioned the dogs might come out barking but would not bite. I said I understood if he did not want to clean the pool that day. He said no big deal and pool was cleaned. He also assured me he would talk to his guy and make sure the pool was vacuumed each visit. The next week the guys comes, brings the vacuum but does not vacuum. So on the ring you see him bring the vacuum in but my daughter watched him clean the pool but he did not vacuum. Sneaky. I did not call and mention or complain about that because I have been to busy with sorting out my recently deceased father in laws stuff. This week (today) I get a text that they will no longer be able to service our pool and oh by the way Cody came out to service the pool one last time and your dogs were barking and so he could not services it. Cody seems like a good guy, he has always been responsive for the most part. maybe his business is going down hill by the inability to hire good help right now but giving us NO notice or referrals for other pool services, is bad business and poor customer service. If you choose to go with them I hope you have a better experience. read more

Highly dissatisfied with service. This was the second pool cleaning service we used after we got rid of our first business for poor services lasting 3 minutes on each visit. We used this pool service for over a year. Owner was responsive and friendly, but his employees work was extremely subpar. We were assured that pool cleaning sessions should be a minimum of 15-20 minutes each visit. Low and behold, we observed our pool cleaners arriving and subsequently leaving within a five minutes on each visit. We has issued complaints about the work to the owner and he came by himself a few times to clean our pool. Employees constantly changed our weekly sessions to fit their schedules, sometimes not even coming for the week. Following a complaint to the owner about an employee once again departing within a few minutes of arriving at our residence, we were told that our 20 year old daughter was giving us "inaccurate information" and that the employee had done everything he was supposed to. Overall, our experience with this company was extremely poor. read more

I was one of their first customers and was happy for quite some time until they changed service days without telling me and told me to change my gardeners days. Then they started having different people come by to clean for ten minutes at different times after agreeing to come after my gardeners. Then they just decided not to come or add chemicals...my pool was green! I called Cody...he said their business has exploded and they had to change MY service.....then was rude and made up stories to justify why they didn't clean. I was shocked at his attitude. I've been using Cody for 3 years for weekly pool maintenance and I'm very happy with him and his team's work. Cody is very responsive over texts and has been very helpful with any requests/questions I have. They also recently added a new feature that emails me the pool service they performed that day, which I think is cool. Pool is always nice to swim in... Just wish there were more warmer days in the year so we can use our pool more often. read more

Not only did he replace it on a holiday but he was beyond professional and took the time to make sure we also had balanced chemicals and knew how to clean the filter in the future. Absolute WORST customer service I've ever witnessed, from the owner (Cody) himself. As an Escondido native I wanted to support a local, mom & pop type shop when I came across The Pool Supply Store ( aka MurrElls Services Inc. ) . Counter person ( Vince) was VERY knowledgeable. Sadly though, after his pitch he turns you over to the most arrogant, impatient, agitated business owner (Cody) I've ever met. 2 years of business together and this man HANGS up on me like a little child over a simple miscommunication regarding a sometimes 'locked' gate for access to pool. Cody has always preferred communication via text or email and now I know why. He belongs nowhere near "customer service" relations. In previous months he had mentioned he is short staffed (employees quitting, etc) as are many businesses over the long last 2 years/Covid. I was completely understanding and patient. Upon asking him to CALL me regarding recent missed services ( 2 consecutive weeks = algae), I had NO intention of discontinuing their services. I was shocked a simple phone would result in such anger and agitation from his side. Cody , the owner, was clearly agitated, on guard, and confrontational from the moment he said hello. We paid for the premium services package only to be treated like a second-class citizen. Many business owners today are facing troubles of finding good help but his business owner's problems start with the owner himself. Also note that my first in store transaction with this place began with a $600 pool sweep that was supposed to include a $100 rebate. 2 years later, NO REBATE and Cody was very dismissive, no help at all. Wish ya'll could see every text (saved) I've ever had with this man. Reason being there is NOTHING that would ever have you believe I deserved to be treated with a " today is your last service. Find a new service!" - hang up ! I've never met him in person but beware that this is the type of customer service he provides. God forbid a customer would need to discuss anything with him. We lined up to have this company come out for a weekly pool service. I noticed that the pool was growing a lot of algae and when I tested the water everything was off. I called someone else out and he noticed the salt machine was not even working so the pool was not getting any salt. No one ever told me! I emailed to cancel service and the Director of customer service, Cody, called to try and win my business back. I let him know about the algae and said I was going to use someone else and when I started to explain what was going on with the pool he got mad and hung up the phone on me.
