Kevin inspected the pool that I bought and was incredibly helpful on explaining how everything works, realistically how long various parts would last, and working with the seller's agent to explain things. It was ~$300 for an inspection and was well worth it as we got about $1,500 in seller credits. I also chatted with other pool inspectors in the area and Kevin's price was much more reasonable and he was way more direct on explaining things and getting the inspection done quickly. After we bought the house, I was looking to maintain it on my own and Kevin graciously spent a couple hours on the phone explaining the chemicals and basic pool chemistry. I called Protouch today and Kevin answered right away. I'm currently in the process of selling my house which has a large pool in the back yard. I called to get an inspection done because I wanted to be proactive with potential buyers and let them know the condition of the pool. It's an older pool but has been very well maintained. We have used Protouch twice. Lance installed a new heater last year to replace a non-working one. Our previous pool service had (not Protouch) quoted the same heater and installation at an unreasonable price. We bought the heater from Protouch. Lance did the install work professionally and explained the operation of my pool with the new heater. This week we called Protouch for a stuck pool pump basket lid. Lance came out and quickly removed the stuck lid. While onsite Lance repaired a slow leak of a fitting on the same pump. Friendly, professional service & a fair price. I contacted ProTouch via Yelp to replace a variable speed pool pump. Lance responded immediately & answered all my questions. He also emailed an estimate with pricing and 3-year warranty info. I looked up the licensing for all the companies Yelp recommended, and Protouch was the only pool contractor that's actually licensed & bonded by the State License Board. Even though I received a couple cheaper quotes, I felt more comfortable hiring a licensed professional, since the installation requires electrical & plumbing work. Lance sourced the Pentair Intelliflo equipment I wanted, then scheduled an appointment that same week. Lance not only installed the pool pump, he also programmed the user-friendly pool settings. Easy peasy! It's been a week since the installation & the pool is running better than ever. The new pool pump is not only energy efficient, it's also so quiet that I wouldn't know it's running except for the waterfall features that cascade into the pool. I cannot recommend Lance highly enough. We called him with an issue about our pool heater and he walked us through some remote diagnostics, telling us how to do a filter purge, working from video and photos to see if we could solve the issue ourselves. When that failed, he came out and spent well over an hour and replaced a pressure valve and when that did not resolve the issue, did not charge us for it, though he left it in. He then coordinated with the manufacturer rep to get us warranty service and gave us next steps to resolve the issue. Despite all the time and energy he invested (not to mention the material costs of the pressure valve) he only charged us the standard visit charge. Bottom line: he is your advocate and has a rare sense of integrity, all the more so these days. read more
