Terrible!!! We've done business with a lot of different companies, and Murtaugh Restorations is hands down worst company ever!!! The owner mistreated us & was rude to me; the guy they put in charge of our work came on to me & he's married! Company is a joke if they said they'll repair your ceiling and give you an estimate and send me an invoice with cost. Estimator never called me back to set a date and I called again and he said he'll see if his workers can do weekends then never called back on that either. So I called company line to transfer message and another week later never got a call back from that. Over three weeks and I needed my ceiling repaired before I move put of state and NOTHING! I was willing to pay the rate and get it done but apparently my job wasn't good enough or they can fix my swirl style ceiling. Company lacks communication and rapid response to customer needs. A hail-damaged roof ridge vent caused water to leak and cause damage to several areas to our ceiling. We got a few estimates, and lots of "promises" from companies wanting our business. We went with Murtaugh because from the start it was straight talk with no hype. Their quote was reasonable. The contract signed and the work completed within a couple weeks, because they recognized that this was not a HUGE job, but it was causing significant damage within our home. We have recommended Murtaugh to many others since, and they will be the first company we call when we have a problem. read more

UPDATE: On Sept 27th the owner proceeded to move forward with a mechanic lien for the full amount due, once again not reflecting any credit for the flooring. Two days prior, after 3 months time, and my leaving reviews online, he finally sent a new invoice actually reflecting a $2000 credit for the flooring, and $525 credit for the change order I never signed. Though he did this, he only gave me two days to consider and accept this settlement before filing the lien for $5214.00, which is $2525 more than the final invoice he gave me two days prior. Two days! All of this has taken place while simultaneously trying to work through the bbb complaint process to resolve the issues. He also has said "I will contact an attorney if you keep bashing our business names on different media sites." 9/25/17: We had a large in-law renovation done for my disabled grandmother, it was a $15,000 job. There was not one aspect of the job that was not done either unprofessionally, had to be redone, or to this day is still not right. We had two different plumbing leaks they had to return and fix, a toilet drain and toilet water line. The business owner, his son, and his wife all came into my home and said that flooring would not be acceptable in their own home, but to date they are unwilling to fix the issues and have only offered verbally a $2000 credit for the flooring (which is not indicated on the final invoice). There is no way I can obtain acceptable flooring for $2000. The last time we spoke on the phone about the issue of the flooring, I was told he would be sending this all to his attorney and he HUNG UP on me. The owner himself told me that the flooring selected was not the right flooring for my house, but he will not take responsibility for it. The flooring we chose was one of the four flooring options I was given by his representative. (My flooring and tile choices were made via cell phone picture by the way.) There are wide seems all over that are raised and not only visible but catch on your feet. A piece of trim needed to be stained and was not taped to protect my cabinets, sloppily leaving stain on my kitchen cupboards. A light was installed off center and had to be reinstalled. The L shaped shower curtain bar was not level and not strong enough to hold the curtain, and a support rod had to be added. The toilet they moved was not installed to code and had to be moved and reinstalled. The tile work was not done professionally and corner pieces were uneven and sloppy. The first time the flooring was installed there was a place that was so tight the piece popped up out of place, and had to be fixed. The ends of the laminate flooring were cut too short in many places leaving large gaps at the walls, and had to be cut again and reinstalled. I bought the light fixtures myself having been told I would be reimbursed and it was never reflected on the invoice. I have expressed that we should receive a credit for the flooring, but despite saying he will settle with me he did not respond and sent another invoice with zero credit for the flooring applied. In addition to there being no credit he has added over $500 for a handicap toilet that I never signed a change order for. I have paid nearly $10,000 already and they are now threatening me with a Mechanic's Lien for the balance. Stay away! read more

Hired Boyce and his team to refinish our wood floors in 2008. His first crew did a sloppy job so Boyce came in on a Saturday to redo some floors and did not finish. We did not live here at the time so we set a date when we could come back so he could finish the floors. He never showed up, never responded to our calls or emails and never finished the job. We had to hire someone else to totally redo the job. We wasted a lor of money by hiring Boyce and his crew. read more

Had a tree fall on our house during a storm that ripped half the roof off. Called Murtaugh, They were very fast to respond. Gave us a great quote on the repair. Worked with our insurance company to get everything done. Matched the new shingles to the existing ones perfectly. Now we have the nicest looking roof on our block! Thanks Murtaugh! read more
