Our old door set up some unique challenges and they navigated it like pros. Chancy was great about including me along the way about any multiple choice decisions that could be made, as a homeowner I greatly appreciate that inclusion in the process while not having to watch over them. The whole team seemed to be enjoying each other and having fun, what sounded like me typical banter of co-workers and friends, while remaining respectful to my home. After the job was done, Chancy walked us through the project and asked if we wanted any changes on a few items. He also encouraged us to reach out if we had any other concerns moving forward. The owner of Capital Home Improvements Paul Conklin met with us August 3rd 2024 about a large…read moreproject on our house. The work began promptly on August 5th. The work included, new roof, siding, windows, gutters, garage door, sliding glass door, adding a covered porch, sidewalk and concrete removal, basement waterproofing and attic insulation. Paul has received multiple checks from us totaling $65,000. To date (October 11th 2024) only the roof is done. The siding is incomplete and poorly done, not one window is finished. Empty "Twisted Tea" bottles were found throw around with the rest of the junk in our yard. Nobody in our family drinks so I wonder where they came from? Our yard is trashed with garbage and it's tore up. Slowly the workers stopped showing up and Paul removed the Capital Home Improvements sign from our yard. Paul didn't respond to calls or texts asking to meet. Only one day in the past 3 weeks has anybody showed up to work. This was because there was a bay window sitting in our driveway not installed. It was installed, but like the rest of the windows not completed. Two and a half months and $65,000 invested and this is what we get from Paul Conklin and Capital Home Improvements. We have contacted the attorney general, BBB and our personal attorney. Our house has been ruined, windows are not sealed and winter is approaching. The amount of stress this has put on our family is unacceptable.

I had you guys (Comfort) in a number of years ago to quote on a project. The problem I had at the time was that Comfort's price was just a little higher and the company I went with assured me they had the same quality workmanship and products. After the other company completed the work... (using the term completed loosely) I had nothing but problems. I called the other company and they told me to call the manufacturer. What a nightmare that turned into. This time the Comfort quote was still just under 4% higher than the next competitor but everything I have read told me to give Comfort a try. So I did! WOW ! is all I can say. I have never seen a construction crew as organized as your guys. The workers were friendly and polite. I didn't hear any swearing like I did with the other company. When the Comfort guys completed the job they walked me around the entire project showing me exactly what they did and why. I was amazed at the finish work, even the calk joints looked perfect unlike the other company who smeared calk everywhere. I am so thankful that I selected Comfort and cant wait to have you back in the spring for the next project we have in mind. Lastly, the guy Chris who came out to estimate this job, I guess he is a salesperson. He was just great... he was here for quite some time and answered every question we had. And, it made us feel really good that he didn't pressure us to sign that night! But why wait, we signed on that night and have never been happier with a home improvement decision. Thanks

(Oye vay, our house had needed a lot of work, so we did the inside, and landscaping first.. while the roof waited patiently) This month we FINALLY scheduled to have our - very old, badly maintained, bondoed.. duct taped.. (from WAY back) ..mess of a flat roof ... TOTALLY FIXED! We interviewed 3 companies and went with VANDERHOOF. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we have made since moving to the area. Vanderhoof came in with a swat team of capable roofers, and worked like a band of Army Engineers. They tore off DECADES of badly done roof work, layer after layer after layer. (What a mess of construction debris!) At the end of every work day, they left our yard immaculate. Then they built, and built, and restructured, and redesigned. (Flat roofs need expert attention). The work took a bit longer than they estimated due to the amazing number of layers to be removed, and their painstaking rebuilding process - but the Syracuse weather cooperated *(!!) and the work finished yesterday and it looks fantastic! (Photo shows NEW SPECTACULAR FLAT ROOF! Later I'll dig out the original roof.. it looked like a moonscape of bulbous waves and misguided historic attempts to mesh a labyrinth of disconnected ill selected materials. (We inherited it in 2016. ) I can't recommend Vanderhoof highly enough.
