If you have never heard of Mushroom Burger, the first impression you'd have is that it might be a vegetarian or vegan place packed with healthy food, maybe even farm-to-table kind of thing.
NOT.
Don't be fooled as this place is actually more like your typical fastfood chain, but with some mushrooms on things. It's disappointing if you were actually vegan and hoping to find burger patties made of all mushrooms and vegetables. Their patties have meat and mushrooms in them, so that's a no. There's a Mushroom and Cheese sandwich, but do expect that it's just Mushrooms (oyster mushrooms, NOT patty) and cheese, like what it says. It's quite sad when I had it as I had to remove the cheese and mayo and there wasn't much else but bread and shrooms :(
They do have a noodles here though, and it seems like their mushroom pancit canton is the nearest vegan dish here (though, I'm thinking the noodles might be made of egg? Do check). It would be SO AMAZING if Mushroom Burger offered vegan options and dishes that are more fresh and natural.
Though, what I actually did like about this place is that this branch in Tagaytay (the original one) has a mushroom farm, and you can buy giant bags of fresh, oyster mushrooms! They were the freshest ones I've ever seen, and you can buy them really cheap here at around Php 50/bag. This made my day!
So i don't recommend this place if you're vegan, but if you want to buy mushrooms, get it here. read more
