I've been playing gee-tar for quite a while, so I have most of my gadgets and gear, but as many musicians know, there is always room for more crap. Well not this time. Why you ask? Well over the years I've accumulated quite a few soft-cases for guitars, all of which were quickly replaced with hard-cases immediately to protect my babies. Well soft-cases aren't really in high demand, and they were filling up needed space in my casa, so I decided to donate them. On my way to Goodwill, I remembered that Jireh Music has those crappy commercials that make you remember their name. Instead of blindly donating my cases, I decided to get some big bucks for 'em. $2.00. Yep. TWO DOLLARS. Now this may sound like a bad thing through type, but $2.00 is still more than I had going into the store... Or so I thought. Checking our their current stash, I found another amp that I just HAAAAAAD to have, so I came out around $200 in the hole, OR DID I? Great guys working the shop with a lot of gear packed into a small space. It's not Guitar Center, but that's the good part... It's not Guitar Center. I'll be back to donate one thing and pick up another in the near future.

She is very talented in her style of teaching- my kids really respect her. She has a beautiful voice and knows how to bring out the best voice in her students. My oldest son, 16, is very talented on piano and loves to perform, but would never practice on his own. Now, Ms. Grace is teaching him a whole new way to work from chords and interpret the music- he is finding a new love for the piano and practicing on his own! Yes, you did read correctly, she is their voice teacher and a great one, but she is so much more. She didn't want his talent in piano to be lost and got him playing while he sings- making Dad, Mom & Nana quite happy!!! My daughter, 13, has a naturally beautiful voice, but has really blossomed under the training of Ms. Grace. It turns out that the voice training has also been wonderful for my daughter's overall confidence. She also mentioned to Ms. Grace that she had a guitar, but had never learned to play. Of course, Ms. Grace now is teaching her guitar too. My youngest son, 11, has disabilities that affect his speech. One day he told me he wanted to take voice lessons too. I approached Ms. Grace about it, and she said "yes" without hesitation. He is definitely improving and I believe it is also helping his speech. They offer group and individual, one on one, classes. Like any other form of education, it takes years to master the skills, so patience is required..... LOL They have weekdays and weekends classes. I have seen, weekends are always busy, so if you want to enroll someone or want to get enrolled yourself, apply early. Classes and teachers are available throughout the year. I have seen as young as 5 years old kids and as old as 80 years old grandmas!! Staff is very friendly and teachers are very knowledgeable and dedicated to their profession. And what sealed the deal was the proximity to our home. We would drop off our son for lessons and we weren't encouraged to go in for the sessions. Ever. And we never did. Which was strange. On Saturday mornings it was chaotic and with tutoring sessions it was busy place. Our son seemed to enjoy the lessons and Ms Katie was sweet and our son responded well to her, this was important because our son didn't love the violin. Ms Katy would sometimes be absent and we would make up sessions during the week. She had cancelled 3 and we were told to schedule the lesson with her and not the school, although we paid the school. She ended up leaving the school and owed us (3) lessons. The school took no responsibility. I was frustrated at the school and that Ms Katy did not take responsibility when we were billed in advance for lessons. I'm not sure what the structure of the lessons were because in middle school our son did not advance with private lessons. We now pay the same amount for private lessons, and the instructor is a violinist with the Atlanta Philharmonic and Symphony. My never new Ms Katy's resume. There was no collaboration, communication and we were overall disappointed with the experience we had.
