This place is in desperate need of somebody who knows how to multitask. Customer service is lacking. Prices are way too expensive.

I was recently given a guitar to start learning on, the most obvious issue being that it's missing…read moresome strings. I figured I would take it to a local business to have it it re-strung and looked over. I waited all week to go at a time outside of my work hours because their hours are very limited. I walked in holding the guitar and the first thing that was said to me when I walked in was "we're not doing anymore repairs today". The gentleman then asked me what was wrong with it and I explained that I didn't know what and wanted it looked at. He offered to write up a value on it to let me know how much it could be worth, and I explained to him that my intention was to play this guitar and that would really only be helpful to know to compare to the cost of repair. He did show me a few guitars they had in house at what seemed like a decent price. But instructed me to come back when the repairman was in, which could be anytime because even though he had hours, he is a gig worker and sometimes has to leave. It largely felt like he was more interested in selling me something versus addressing the concerns I currently had. Can't blame him in this economy, I suppose. He was kind and it is a cool shop, just didn't seem like it was what I needed based on my situation. This place has a very small town, small store feel - if you're looking for a wide variety of instruments and/or consistent hours, this might not be the right choice for you either.

Great place to find out what is happening musically in town and buy tickets to shows.read more

I took two acoustic guitars in to have new strings put on and also see what is new in the store…read more Mike stated new strings had come out from a particular popular brand name that contained a coating of some kind that not only limited your fingertips from being cut, but it also extends the life of the strings. I couldnt wait to try it out. When i got home, i played for about and hour and the difference with the new type of strings was incredible. Mike was extremely helpful and put the new strings on within an hour. I have always had great service from Chicago Music Store and will continue to go there for all my music needs. Thank you !!!

I find myself in possession of a BEAUTIFUL mandolin. Yes, I know, but there you have it. I wanted…read moreit to be with someone who would love it and make beautiful music for their muse. So I went to the Chicago Music Store, Tucson's go to for all things music. It is a BEAUTIFUL PLACE that caters to all things music, instruments, tools amps, just a breath taking array of musical instruments to create magic. Almost inspired me to hang on to aforementioned mandolin. But I sold it to them so that it would end up in the proper set of hands. While there I chatted with the owner and his assistants who were friendly, extremely knowledgeable and clearly in tune with musicians. They will find it a good home. I browsed, and was amazed at their inventory! If you are looking for ANYTHING in the music oeuvre this should be your first stop. Smack downtown on 6th Ave. Hurry in and feed your soul.

Ive wanted a Specific Guitar for... well most of my life (I'm 55)…read more Never in my life have I been treated so honest and fairly in a transaction over $3000.00. Dalton, Chris and Bailey were by far the most talented and knowledgeable trio I've ever met in a retail setting. I was greeted In a warm, friendly and professional manner. I knew what I wanted and still had a few questions. it wasn't the answers that I got but the way the answers were given. I really felt important and that my concerns were addressed. they found the perfect for me Gibson J 45 Standard. I received more then expected for the trade of another High End Guitar. Dalton made sure I was truly satisfied and he insisted the guitar be delivered to the store so he and Chris could inspect it prior too me picking it up and assured me that I wouldn't leave the store until I was beyond satisfied with my purchase or if I might change my mind for a different model. I'm really looking forward to getting my guitar and can't wait too see the three of them too thank them again. this should be the store you choose if you're in the greater Tucson are. the Sales and Service provided will set the bar of your Customer experience to a whole new level. Thanks again Fellas!!!! you made a Grumpy, Old Dude into a Happy, Life Long Customer of your Exceptional Store!!!
