    Webpage broken "link"
    Jeff D.

Hi, I figured I would reach out by doing a tip. I noticed that online for quite a while now it's been very outdated. I was specifically hoping to find an area to review or search current sheet music in store.... I got to a coming soon: online store page, at the bottom is said if you want to search for a specific sheet music to click the link below.. but there isn't any link... even when I click the banner it's only a photo.. I'll have to stop in store but I'm off work around the time you close... the which makes it inconvenient for the customer but also the employee. I try not to hinder someone who's closing by staying around after hours. Just a little constructive criticism. Positive vibes and thx for all you guys do. I've been coming to music central for 16 years but just recently got a new sax after not playing for a while. P.S. the last post linked from Facebook was from 8 months ago. (: hope this helps.

I had my guitar re-strung here. They were really nice and were able to finish it while I shopped at Target.

I had to pick up some sticks for a drummer that I play with and found some really decent bargains at $5 pair.

Bertrand's Music is a music store focused on "school band & orchestra sales, rentals, lessons, and…read morerepair," as stated on their website. Our middle school band teachers works with Bertrand's Music exclusively and I understand that they trust them. The store itself looks nice. They had some instruments for sale displayed, along with music books. They have rooms for lessons in the back. The parking lot is usually congested though and parking is not easy. Our experience is only with getting an instrument repair quote from them. I'm sure the lessons and rentals are just fine here, but we would not exactly recommend Bertrand's for repairs, especially if you weren't even referred to come here by your school band for an instrument that belongs to the school. They have to ship out the instrument somewhere off site to even give us a quote, and we had to wait ten business days just to hear back that the instrument was unsalvageable and not worth repairing. They were unable to provide us with any written detail of what exactly needed to be repaired and what the cost would be. I'm not sure why they do it like this, because it appears a bit unprofessional. If you're looking for someone to repair a specific instrument that you own, we don't think this is the perfect place to bring it. It would probably be best to find someone who specializes in repairing that instrument to do it on site. Repairs were just one aspect of their business and it's technically a relationship between the school band and Bertrand's, so it didn't bother us. The staff were very nice and accommodating, and we appreciated that. They provided us with a receipt that the school needed, and it was as simple as that. Thank you!

If you've ever bought a guitar from a large music store or a local shop, you need to meet Doug, the owner of Guitars San Diego. Doug's unique approach to customer service is what truly sets him apart in the guitar industry. He's not just about making a sale; he's genuinely committed to helping each customer find the perfect instrument that resonates with them personally. This level of dedication is rare and makes the shopping experience at Guitars San Diego truly special. During my first visit, I noticed how Doug tailored his recommendations based on my preferences and playing style. He would listen intently to what I was looking for and provide options aligned with my needs, showing a deep understanding of different guitar types, tone woods, individual build processes, styles, and each guitar's unique characteristics. During that visit, I played four guitars and left with one in mind. But I wasn't ready. I told Doug I needed more time and left comfortably. On my second visit, I tried three more guitars and found myself torn between two. Doug could see I was having a hard time deciding. Both guitars had qualities and characteristics that I loved. Doug sat patiently with me for over an hour while I switched back and forth. When I was getting nowhere, Doug's humble expertise came to the rescue. His passion for guitars is infectious, and he shared interesting stories about the two models and their histories, which added an extra layer of excitement to the process. It felt more like a conversation with a friend who happens to be an expert, rather than a typical sales pitch. Ultimately, the guitar I chose was one of only two in the US (at the time of sale). I only mention that because Doug had every right to charge any price he wanted (within reason) for such a rare guitar, but he didn't. He made a deal that exceeded my satisfaction and earned a lifelong customer. Doug's sales approach is a testament to his commitment to customer satisfaction. It's clear that he values building relationships over making a quick sale. Overall, if you're looking for a place where you can explore your options, receive expert advice, and feel genuinely valued as a customer, I can't recommend Doug enough. His knowledge, patience, and passion make for an unforgettable experience. I left satisfied with my purchase and excited about the next purchase.

Selection is great and diverse, would buy again if I could afford it.

Pretty tough for a busy musician to just give up their gear that was clearly not inspected before selling it. The service in general? Every associate you up walk to points you in an arbitrary direction and tells you "they can help you over there". Been stuck so deeply in a hard spot because the gear I bought is faulty and there's nothing they'll do about it so I either have to spend MORE money getting it fixed or return this stuff and hope to find something to replace it immediately. Such a hassle. Worst staff on the planet.
