I spoke to Ray and explained the symptoms of my car. I told him I needed an alternator. He said he had one in stock and it's brand new however stated he can't guarantee if it's new. The price he gave me was $95 parts only. With labor total $250. But he said it can go up but wouldn't explain why. Earlier that day I called a mustang repair shop in San Francisco to check how much would they charge for parts and labor. The guy never gave me a price. I told the guy that I would call back if I decide to come in the morning. He told me to call him in the morning before I come. Apparently Ray and the guy in San Francisco are buddies. Beware Ray is a very rude person and I heard him calling me a clown. The guy in San Francisco told Ray to make money off of me. It appears that Ray is ripping people off. I asked Ray where does he get his parts from and he refused stating, "I'm not gonna tell you that so you can price check" I have several vehicles classics and exotics and I will never take it to Ray or his friend in San Francisco. These guys are crooks. Thank god I didn't do business with them. Ray accidentally forgot to hang up and went to voicemail. I overheard their conversation via voicemail to me. Calling your customers clowns, plotting to make money of people by taxing them, using old parts and claiming it to be new. Unbelievable. read more

At least 20 years ago I went to Mustang Brothers to see if they had a few parts for my '63 Falcon. Not only did they have the parts, but Ray just gave me a few clips needed to attach emblems. I haven't been there since because the Falcon has run like a champ. The other day, the "Jesus" clip broke. It's a small clip that connects the throttle cable to the throttle arm on the carburetor. I decided to stop by Mustang Brothers to see if they had the part. Ray greeted me and I explained what I needed. He had a number of them and gave me one. I asked, How much do I owe you?" He said, "I wouldn't know what to charge you for that?" He just gave it to me for free, which is what he did 20+ years ago. Now I'm not saying to go to him because he gives you parts for free. I'm saying go to him because those two gestures tell a story about a man who's in it for they love of it and not to rip you off. read more

I've been going to him for as long as I had my mustang (67) and he's always had what I wanted. Rays a good guy. I don't know why these 1 star people are talking about. I was sad when I stopped by there and he was not there but super happy that I found out he just moved. Cant wait to visit new location since I just recently started up working on it. I started going to Mustang Brothers a few months ago to do research on prices and availability of parts for a mustang I was going to purchase. I told Ray nothing about the condition of the car in order to keep him honest. He was extremely helpful as well as extremely courteous. I have returned numerous times to his shop purchasing stuff as well as to get information about how to replace something that I was doing at home on my car. Ray at the mustang brothers has always taken care of me over the years and doesn't overcharge me for parts, and his labor rate is pretty good. He's also done little check ups with no charge while the car was there as well to make sure everything was looking good, which is really nice of him. With so many mixed reviews about such a great place with a friendly mechanic and a very helpful guy behind the parts counter I thought I'd put my 2 cents in. Ray knows all there is to know about these cars and is always extremely helpful when I have questions. I prefer to work on my 1966 stang myself, so my car hasn't been in their shop, but I have gotten many parts here and will continue coming here for parts, knowledge, and advice. Man they got it all there went to buy a gas cap for my 65 and they even helped me install it. Very knowledgable and friendly ended up buying a glove box too. I brought my car there to have them put it back together. It needed several parts which he gave me a list. I had already given him some of those parts and he ended up invoicing me for some of them. I had him take it off the invoice When he said the car was done, I spent 3 times more than I had expected. He put in the wrong gas line, the fuel pump leaked, half of the wiring was not done. He could not tune it up. It has the wrong clutch and it rattles. The door handles came lose after I opened the door a couple of times. The mirror he put on does not work. I brought to another mustang shop and they did more work on the car in 3 days than Mustang Bros. did in an entire year and at 1/7th the cost. I had the new shop fix atleast 15 mistakes that they had done. The list goes on and on. They are great guys but their work quality is a 0, and prices are astronomical. read more
