There were lots of different local food options at this festival. From your typical festival food (fries, funnel cakes, etc), to Indian, Thai, and even Ethiopian. There was plenty of healthier options if that is more your taste. Keep in mind, the food section was rammed during dinnertime. Lots of lines and people trying to get through. It isn't easy and can be frustrating. There are multiple stages scattered throughout the park which offer a wide variety of music styles all weekend. I got to see a bit of Five Alarm Funk and the Samba Squad, both really great acts. People were dancing and having a great time. I really love the vendors at Sunfest. There are a lot from the Toronto area which adds a bit of variety in comparison to other festivals in Victoria Park. There are still tons of local vendors too which is nice because there are a ton of locally made products available. I don't get out to the markets as much as I should so its nice to see their wares displayed in the park. While this festival is super busy, it brings a welcome, positive buzz to the downtown core. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the corner of Dundas and Talbot is this gem. It's pretty much a sports bar with a stage for when there's live music or a DJ present! You have to stay tuned to their social media pages and website for that information. Once in the door you're brought immediately to the bar area which is pretty big and full of giant TVs all over the place. As you make your way further into the restaurant you'll walk past the complimentary popcorn machine and leave the bar area as you enter the main dining room. Further back is where the live music would be. It wasn't terribly loud, but it seemed like it may have been a slow night. Service: Mia took excellent care of me. She was sweet, fast, thorough and made sure that I had everything that I needed! Jay is also the owner so be sure to say hi to him. Food: Throughout my 2 visits here to Fitzray's I was able to try several things, so I'll break them down individually. Here goes. Strip Steak Appetizer: So this is a New York strip cut and sautéed with garlic butter and red wine then served with a garlic aioli as well as a chipotle sauce. The steak was very tender, seasoned well and the sauces were perfect complements to the steak. Fish & Chips: So this is 6 oz. of beer-battered haddock loin on a bed of fries. Classic. I LOVED this dish more than I expected to. This place is actually known for this dish and I see why. The fish was super flakey, flavorful and there isn't much more to say. It's such a simple straightforward dish that's done so well. Maple Bacon Dry Rub Wings: So the wings here are breaded, like a THICK, fluffy breading that I wouldn't normally enjoy, but it didn't bother me on any of the wings. These were crispy, the meat fell off the bone and these tasted like if the syrup from your pancakes or waffles touched your bacon. Lol. I hope that makes sense. Hot Honey Wings: These were Mia's favorite flavor so I had to try these out. These was a lot of good Buffalo flavor right up front with just a bit of sweetness on the back end that was a supporting character in this wing's story. Suicide Wings: So this is the HOTTEST flavor that the restaurant offers. The heat comes in a little late and continues to build for a LONG time. These are no joke, but I could handle them. Lol. Deliciously saucy. Mango Habanero Dry Rub Wings: Super flavorful, smokey, peppery, spicy with a good fruity flavor. Value: Excellent. It's pub fare, so it's not meant to be super expensive here, but the drinks will certainly sneak up on you. You can also get a pound of wings for $9.00 CAD during their #WingWednesday special which runs all day and again on Sundays. You can also get that same deal every night after 8:00pm. In conclusion, I loved this place and I'm very happy that I had the opportunity to check this place out. Also I've never seen a restaurant put "hot and honey garlic" on their menu let alone call it by the wrong name.. If somebody wants two sauces mixed they will ask for it, you don't add it to the menu. Make sure the menu is written properly and the staff are trained on it. Literally your only job is to know that menu front to back and bring it to me after I've ordered. Next they are going to tell me Cesar salad and a Cesar drink are the same thing.

The Fair is a big event over multiple days. It typically runs on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday near the end of September or beginning of October. The fair has a nice website that lists the activities that happen on the various days. That website is listed in the above information section. A non-exhaustive list of activities: o Afternoon Entertainment - local bands, talent competitors o Ambassador, Prince & Princess - the winner represents Ilderton at the CNE in Toronto o Demolition Derby - cars that smash into each other in a sort of automobile sumo wrestling match o Firemen's Breakfast - great value for your money, get bacon/ham/sausage/eggs etc served by volunteers o Midway - lots of rides of the tilt-a-whirl sort to turn your stomach in different directions o Parade - favourite of thousands of kids and kids at heart. The streets are lined by onlookers as floats created by volunteers ride through the heart of downtown Ilderton o Agricultural Exhibits - The Ilderton Agricultural Society, 4-H Club and others keep every year fresh with various displays o Animal Displays - The Horse Shows bring in competitors from around Ontario. Mutton Busting is small children riding sheep - its a must see full of laughs. The Calf Scramble is young adults attempting to wrestle/coral aggressive cows. Come on over to Ilderton. From London's downtown via automobile, take Richmond north to Oxford. Then take Oxford west until Hyde Park Road. Take Hyde Park Road about 15 minutes drive until you get to Ilderton Road. A staff member approached you (any one should be able to inform you of this basic ettiquette) and politely asked you to keep your drink back from the table and the reason why. You became immediately confrontational - Why? Who are You? Are you "even" staff? They informed you of all this.... You then decided to amp up needlessly situation and you know all the other things that you and your party did and I'm not going to get into that... The staff at Strokers are excellent and everyone is welcome there, and many people from many different nationalities and walks of life play there - what it boils down to is that you had a chip on your shoulder and instead of just accepting the staffs request you decided to take offense and then double down on that, saying it was due to race - and that is just disgusting. I've admittedly made indiscretions of my own at times and have been reminded by staff of rules and ettiquette, as have many players - all you had to do was be polite and accepting instead of taking it personal - maybe you should reflect on your own actions of Saturday night - you ruined the night for yourself, your friends and frankly for staff who work very hard for the patrons and deserve better. They have giant bouncing areas/pillows, a small animal farm for kids to enjoy (emus, goats, pigs, rabbits, birds) along with tons of little rides that kids can enjoy. A couple of really enjoyable slides for the kids and a go kart (pedal bikes really) track. The bathrooms are super clean and way beyond what I expected - automatic sinks, no touch entry and saw that staff was cleaning them regularly. Moreover, staff was on top of cleaning all the rides every few minutes! This was fantastic to see and reassuring. There's a nice little market/giftshop where you can buy fresh pies, jams, etc. Pizza and other basic food also available for the kids if you want to grab a quick lunch for the little ones. All in all, a fantastic activity for the kid and highly recommend it!
