Mindy has been phenomenal with our two chihuahuas (they are little old men and usually find faults with everything, but they love Mindy. She does a great job on them. Overall the shop is clean, staff is very friendly and we are saving so much money. They even offer two free nail trims between grooming services for each pet. Yay! We will never go anywhere else, we have found our groomer. ( we haven't lived in Georgia long and have been looking for new regular services for everything) . They have cameras where you can peak in and see what your fur baby is doing and that honestly eased my nerves a lot! I was able to see that she was having fun! When I picked her up she was exhausted and I've never seen her worn out like that. But it was very good for her to get out of the house and enjoy time with other dogs! We are also in the training class at Pawtropolis and we absolutely love it! We make sure to be attentive in class and work on the tasks at home as well. Her behaviors have tremendously improved! After recent moving to the area, I was nervous about who would take care of my 'kids' - if you have pets, you know that's as real as it seems. They made transferring records from my old vet a breeze and making an appointment was super easy. The hands-on personal service was amazing. My grandog Tab, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel needed grooming and I'd been too busy to get him to…read morethe groomers, so i called Shear Elegance in Madison to schedule an appt. for the upcoming week. Surprisingly, they said go ahead and bring him in and they could do him that day (a Saturday!) When I got there they said just give them an hour and a half and they'd have him ready. Comparing this to taking him to one of the big pet chains where they charged me double the price and kept him for 6 hours (apparently rush service was 10$ extra and no one told me this) plus he was probably in a cage for a long time, What a great value at Shear Elegance. Tabasco came home looking great - didn't have to be muzzled, is happy and didn't nip or growl at anyone. I even got to watch the last few minutes. These groomers were really great with Tabasco and you can tell they really do love what they do! I would highly recommend Shear Elegance!

I imagine the Dawghouse might be a great place to get your dog groomed. It is *not* a good place to…read moreboard your cats, however, as I did several weeks ago. The side room for cats is very small, with too many cat kennels in too small an area. The folks who work here seem friendly; Luke, in particular, was very kind to me and my cats. But the reception desk is in the dog grooming area, and chaos reigned during both my drop-off and pick-up visits, with too many people trying to do too much in too small an area. Super frustrating and inefficient. My cats were boarded at the Dawghouse for 5-6 nights. When I picked them up, the cat room was filthy, smelly, crowded with cats in individual kennels. I was told all cats had a chance to rotate in and out of their kennels for exercise time in the cat room at large. I have no way of knowing if/how this worked, but it seems a hard thing to manage with so many cats of different ages, temperaments, and health situations. At pick-up time, my two little boy cats were obviously stressed, they had lost weight, and their eyes & noses were goopy with upper respiratory infections, which required a trip to the vet. I will need to do a lot of traveling in the next several months, and I will be looking for a new boarding place for my cats.

They literally saved the life of our rescue cat, Murray, by taking the time to diagnose his problem. He lived to the age of 19. Our old dog Topper was cared for by Mars Hill until we had to let him go at 15. We currently have a 9 year old Aussie. When we were in North Carolina this fall, he developed a cough during the "mystery" dog disease scare. We drove back to GA to take him to Mars Hill. All that said, they are the most caring and knowledgeable vet group and we highly recommend them.

When the groomer showed up, I told her of 2 skin tags on my dog's body so that she would be careful not to hit them. She barely looked where I was pointing, so I should have seen that ad a red flag. My dog was returned with several cuts along his body, the biggest being on one of the skin tags I pointed out to her. While I understand that knicks can happen, he has been groomed for years and never had a groomer cut him this bad. I will never trust this company with my dog again.
