I researched stores of this nature online and was pleased to find the website for Bark Dog Spa. I…read morelive 50 miles away but was going to be in the area so I made a special trip to purchase a birthday cake for my dog. the website boasted an "ever expanding bakery" with treats and birthday cakes. When I entered the store I immediately saw empty shelves and display cases where, purportedly, the bakery items were stocked. I saw no other "boutique items" that were touted on the website. Since the store clearly didn't have what I wanted, I asked the employee if they could recommend somewhere else I could find a dog bakery; "no, sorry, I don't know". I'm willing to accept that a merchant would not want to send business to a competitor, but, this potential customer will not consider returning to this store for anything I the future. I cut people a lot of slack, but when a business owner creates a website to generate business, I find it inexcusable when the website is not maintained with accurate information. I have a large, full coated OES who is groomed professionally once a month; I was considering using the grooming services at Bark Dog Spa, but, this first encounter was so disappointing that I've decided not to do business here.

For the first year I had him, I did not take him to get groomed, because he is a rescue dog, and I did not want him to have a bad experience. I took him to Amanda, at the other salon she used to work at, and he loved her. I instantly trusted her because she is sweet and gentle with him. The best part is she absolutely adores animals, and is a pre-vet student. She always fits him in, and listens to how I would like to be styled. I completely trust her with my angel, and could not recommend her more. When she and Bill opened their new salon, it was not a question for me at all if my dog would go with her. Amanda and Bill truly care about the animals they groom, which is why they are the only people I trust with my baby.

However they still charge me $65 as the whole package fee, without doing the bath, grooming, ear cleaning, paw trimming etc. I think generally they are professional and nice but disappointed me at the bargain part.

For the time I spent in that store, I hear the F work and the B word come out of her mouth, she speaks extremely loudly, and there was info about her childhood. Personally, if I was an owner I would have a meeting set up ASAP to go over store attitude policies. Overall, from what I've heard the owner is spectacular, I would just hope that he would want his employees to carry the same time attitude and pride that he does for his store. Maybe find a new dog trainer?

We've boarded with them for several years and we've been happy with the number of a la cart care options available. I've never had a problem with scheduling and the staff is friendly and enjoy what they do. I'd recommend them!

The side room for cats is very small, with too many cat kennels in too small an area. The folks who work here seem friendly; Luke, in particular, was very kind to me and my cats. But the reception desk is in the dog grooming area, and chaos reigned during both my drop-off and pick-up visits, with too many people trying to do too much in too small an area. Super frustrating and inefficient. My cats were boarded at the Dawghouse for 5-6 nights. When I picked them up, the cat room was filthy, smelly, crowded with cats in individual kennels. I was told all cats had a chance to rotate in and out of their kennels for exercise time in the cat room at large. I have no way of knowing if/how this worked, but it seems a hard thing to manage with so many cats of different ages, temperaments, and health situations. At pick-up time, my two little boy cats were obviously stressed, they had lost weight, and their eyes & noses were goopy with upper respiratory infections, which required a trip to the vet. I will need to do a lot of traveling in the next several months, and I will be looking for a new boarding place for my cats.

But she was unable to do it because his skirt area had gotten matted and unfortunately it was more of a grooming appointment. Alex C took a look at Elvis and despite being swamped, she offered to shave only the necessary area and do her best. She did a great job! She saved most of his skirt and trimmed up his paws so he looks adorable. Thank you Alex C I will book my grooming with you in the future.

My grandog Tab, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel needed grooming and I'd been too busy to get him to…read morethe groomers, so i called Shear Elegance in Madison to schedule an appt. for the upcoming week. Surprisingly, they said go ahead and bring him in and they could do him that day (a Saturday!) When I got there they said just give them an hour and a half and they'd have him ready. Comparing this to taking him to one of the big pet chains where they charged me double the price and kept him for 6 hours (apparently rush service was 10$ extra and no one told me this) plus he was probably in a cage for a long time, What a great value at Shear Elegance. Tabasco came home looking great - didn't have to be muzzled, is happy and didn't nip or growl at anyone. I even got to watch the last few minutes. These groomers were really great with Tabasco and you can tell they really do love what they do! I would highly recommend Shear Elegance!

I have a 7 month old male Boxer that went to Mutty Paws for the first time on 08/03 and 08/04 2026…read more When I dropped him off the first day I asked what type of reinforcement they use. I was told that if a dog gets rowdy they put it in a 15 minute time out, and with three times outs they're kenneled for the remainder of the day. That seemed logical and acceptable to me. On his first day there I was told he got a little rowdy (which is not unusual for a Boxer) and had a 15 minute time out. Ok; fine, that's acceptable. When I picked him up on the second day I was told he had not had a time out and was very sweet. I called back later in the week to schedule two days for the week of 08/10-08/14. I asked if Mutty Paws has cameras as I was interested in watching my dog play and interact with the other dogs. The link was texted to me. My husband and I downloaded the link. Today, 08/11/26 I took my dog back and arrived at 10:30am. We watched him play until 11:17am - basically 40 minutes from the time I arrived with him to stay the day. Apparently he got rowdy and we watched him being led out by his collar to what I was told would be a 15 minute time out. Again; acceptable. My husband continued to watch the feed waiting on our dog to return to the group. At approximately 12pm, my husband called to say that our dog had still not returned to the play group. That is 40 minutes he was missing from any camera. At 12:10pm he had still not been returned to the play group. I drove back to Mutty Paws and asked if perhaps there were play areas without cameras. I was told, no, but that sometimes the cameras didn't show the entire view if dogs were in corners, etc. By now the time is 12:45 and still no sign of my dog on a camera. By this point, I told the girl at the reception desk that my dog had not been seen for approximately 90 minutes and told her to take me to where my dog was. Another girl at the reception desk left the area and came back with the information that Xander was still in time out, in the kennel. The girl that had initially told me about the 3 time outs replied that perhaps he had been rowdy and was put in time out again. Let me remind you that he had only been there 40 minutes when he was taken to time out at 11:17 and had not been returned to the play area after 15 minutes. He had not been returned to the play area in 90 minutes. I told her that there was no way he could have gotten into trouble 3 times (which meant all day kennel) in the 2 hours he had been there. Whether or not he would have been allowed to return to the play group is unknown as I told her I wanted my dog, to pay the fee, and to remove him from their roster. How do I know that he wasn't left in the kennel the first day after the supposed 15 minute time out. I don't!... which is obviously of concern to me after what happened today (08/11/26. My dog will not be returning to Mutty Paws only to be left in a kennel all day. That is definitely NOT what I signed up for. My only regret regarding watching the play area today is that I did not record the time Xander was missing. Cheryl Mauney I need time emphasize that Xander is in no way aggressive. He just wants to love on people and be loved. Being a Boxer, he is bouncy and sometimes get excited.... but he should never have been subjected to a 90 minute time out after only being there 40 minutes.

The groomer shaved her nipples off the last two times. She developed scabs and we told them about it after the first. But it happened again. A part of the pad on her foot was shaved off as well. She has been shaking, lethargic and extra sensitive to gentle touch. I called to let them know, they apologized over the phone, they said this never happens. But I can see now from other people's reviews similar carelessness and negligence has happened before. The manager asked for a third try to show they can do a good job. After giving them the benefit of the doubt once already and how hurt our dog is, we've lost our trust and won't be bringing her back.
