I had an appointment with Carol today my first time at the shop. I had a wonderful experience, love my hair, and everyone was super nice.

This salon is wonderful. I'm always impressed when a salon that performs hair service on primarily African Americans can get you in and out in record time. Carol and her helper Ayanni are the bomb and they are sticklers for not getting backed up with clients. I love that! They care about maintaining the health of your hair. Carol is a highly experienced stylist who, even though she's been doing hair for 25+ years, has kept abreast of current trends and styles. She takes care to give each client a beautiful style that is exactly what they asked for but with added elegance and flair. The shop is large and open with a hair dyer/waiting room in the back. I really really hate leaving low ratings but I must share. This experience occurred back in December 2020. I called the day of to get a simple wash and flat iron. I wear my hair natural 99% of the time. I just really wanted a good trim. I arrived on time and was let know I needed to wait. I waited. Which didn't take too long. I was shampooed and sat under the dryer. Everything was fine. I will say that I think my hair was wayyy too wet while I was under the dryer because it was dripping all over the place. Finally the stylist began on my hair. I believe it was Tiffany? I don't remember for sure her name. She did a beautiful job straightening my hair and cutting it. But I did notice a very burnt smell I haven't experienced in the past. My boyfriend complained of the smell and told me he didn't want my hair this way because of the smell! Fast forward a couple of weeks later I go to wash my hair. I notice most of my hair isn't curling back up! I didn't know what was going on! I washed it. I put my natural hair products in it and nothing. the back of my head was completely heat damaged. I was really upset and sad about this. I love love my natural curls. But this stylist used too much heat and damaged them permanently. Now I have to grow it out and start over. I won't return to this salon unfortunately. I really wanted to give it a chance. Please train your stylists on dealing with natural hair and the level of heat they use! read more

I had my hair done on July 28th. I had a wonderful experience with Pershaonda ,Tiffany and all of the ladies at this beautiful salon. I was nervous to get my hair done for personal reasons. Pershaonda made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat in her chair. When she was done with me I looked amazing.The short cut she gave me has truly been life changing. Heads up to all do not come here for full sew in with frontal. I was very excited initially for this hair style and left not feeling pleased after the install with a free parting frontal I was forced to wear one style unable to part any other way due to the way the frontal was installed by stylist. Will not be keeping this sew in installed for long unfortunately. Not to mention my frontal is already lifting. read more

Today the owner of the Salon contacted me. While nothing can be done to restore my hair, it meant the WORLD to me that they cared enough to reach out and take a real personal interest in my experience. While no amount of money will bring my hair back, at least they are working with me to address the issue. The Stylist is an independent contractor, but she is operating under their name, which they value. I am hoping my hair grows back quickly and I may give the shop another chance. Just left the salon I had color service by Tiffany. I was nervous new shop and all. However this was a very pleasant experience. Tiffany was very professional making sure I was comfortable the entire appointment. Tiffany did exactly what I asked; and the shampoo service was excellent. My rating is based on my experiences overall. I had an appointment with Carol Saturday 01/25 at 1:30. I sat waiting for 30 minutes but was never seen. So I left. It would have been nice if someone told me if my stylist was running late, or got the appointment mixed up, or completely forgot they scheduled me. It would have also been nice to be greeted when walking in the door or to at least have someone make eye contact with me. This was disappointing. I was looking forward to having my hair done. I only take the time to send a critique because I want to come back. I don't need to be entertained with conversation and beverages. I would just appreciate basic customer service from a salon that has such talent in its cosmetologists/stylists. Everyone I see is knowledgeable and kind. I come here because it is conveniently close to my home, I never have to spend all day in the shop and my hair always looks nice when I leave. Many other black operated salons work under much lower standards which is why I appreciate My Beauty. But these small improvements can make a huge difference. I say all this with love. New to the area and just happen to luck up on this awesome salon while hanging out with my son a few months ago. Called at the last minute for an appointment and was lucky to get an appointment the next day. My beauty salon is the perfect spot if you want to get friendly, family like, reliable, great service. The staff is professional, courteous and knowledgeable about hair. My stylist Pershonda will have to call the sheriff to get rid of me! The service is beyond outstanding. I have grown to love the staff like my family. The entire staff is very personable with everybody who walks thru their door whether its for hair supplies or a hair appointment. My stylist is Pershaonda, and she is the best in town! Pershaonda is the stylist that will give you anything you want HOWEVER she wants to make sure she gives you the proper hair care techniques as well. Not to mention, if you give her a picture of an hairstyle that you want once your in the chair. She will not only achieve it but go beyond what you ask for. I was looking for a place that would cut my hair short - that I could also maintain at an affordable price. The haircut alone was only $45! Half of what I'm used to paying, and the quality and service was just as good as the other places. OMG! I was so impressed with "My Beauty Salon"!! It was clean, I mean pristine CLEAN. The bathroom was extra clean and sparkly!! I think the Auntie of the owner is in charge of the environmental maintenance services and she takes pride in her work! The waiting room is large and comfortable. My stylist was Jae and she is so laid back, efficient, warm and skilled. All the stylist were friendly with their unique, cute personal styles. Their retail purse collection is to die for! I noticed they all helped out when needed. A trim means a trim. Jae knew I was in need of a real trim, but she didn't make me feel like a Nappy Head Salvage!! She gently suggested that I drink more water if I wanted to help my 4C locks to become soft and flourish. LONG OVERDUE First off, I need to state that if your beautician is A1 like mine, JAE, please think twice about suggesting others to your beautician. I made this mistake about 3 weeks ago and never could have imagined the turmoil that this person has caused my beautician with her unkind words and false acqusations not only questioning her license and yet and still tip her for a style that she stated she loved, which I would never pay for anything I didnt like. But to each is own. She knows who she is. For the record I have been going to JAE once a week since March and she has always been professional and dedicated to making me feel confident every time I enter and exit her chair aswell as other women in the shop which is always full of great energy for the young and old from different music selections and informative hot topics... lol.. I was a walk in and I wish I had taken a "before" picture. It was like night and day. It's light, has lots of body and not a lot of oily products but it's well moisturized. I love it!! This is a nice shop and they can do good hair, but don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon with these girls. You will be sitting in here for at least 3-4 hours and they will take people before you, that came after you...I hate that. If you got something to do or need to go to work, do not schedule your hair apt for that day. That will make me not go again and definitely not recommend friends.
