I LOVE MY HAIR!!! The ladies at Pretty Star were very sweet & welcoming. I booked a last min appointment Thurs evening for this Sat at 8AM but was able to be seen EARLIER . I came in for human hair micro braid at 8:30AM Friday morning and the ladies immediately got to work on my head. The shop was clean, easy to find, and next door to a cute little bakery. My style only took 5.5hrs to complete, which is impressive given the size of my braids. The two ladies who styled me, Flora and (I for the others name ) were very delicate with my head I actually fell asleep while they braided. Their website is easy to use and very user friendly. The site clearly details services offered, the approx time to complete, and starting price for all styles. The phone number listed is accurate and the stylist are very responsive to inquiries. The braiding was great, hair done by Eve in Walnut Creek location. My concern is the $25 deposit. I was sent a link to use Square app to book the appointment and pay the deposit. When it was time to pay for my braids I was charged for the entire service without the deduction of the deposit. When I inquired about the deduction/deposit, I was told Squate keeps the deposit. I reached out to Square and was told that this was not the case and I needed to speak with the business or contact my bank to dispute the charge. I would like to ask, if anyone else has had this experience. I paid my bill plus gave a $20 tip. My suggestion is that if this is the case, where the deposit is given to the business and not deducted from the final bill; people please don't tip. Allow your $25 to be the tip. First Time Customer... Ok Eve you did that! First off let me say I'm very picky, don't like when a braider takes to many breaks, eating while doing my hair, or sitting for 6-8 hours for singles. Well none of that happen here. I got the feed in braids and never have I ever had my hair done in 3hours! I was like she don't play! On top of that she only used 3 packs and a little extra of hair. I love this hairstyle it so light and and easy to manage especially when I hit the Gym.. Don't got no heavy braids just light weight and still look full! I'll be bringing back my 2 daughters for sure! read more

Pretty Star Brading is absolutely amazing. I was able to book a very last minute appointment online for my daughter. When I arrived the ladies in the shop were friendly and dressed professionally. My daughter and I felt welcome and comfortable. Our Braider Nancy was super sweet, knowledgable, and had wonderful suggestions for my daughter's hair. This was my first experience with Pretty Star braiding and I must say that I was not disappointed at all! I did a big a couple months ago and hoped that someone could catch all my little hairs. I am responding to the comment on my original review in response to the owner's reply. I text you several times and just like you asked I sent 3 pictures. I repeatedly asked for updates and if you were gonna do anything and I never heard anything back. I didn't have time to come back to your shop because it was already late in the afternoon...after you were already almost 30 minutes late while I had my baby with me and we were just waiting...but that's why I called you on the phone which should not have been a problem and didn't seem like it was a problem when I talked to you. There was no reason to drive all the way back to the shop and waste my expensive gas money when you couldn't do anything that day anyways. I thought we were handling it over text message but you never returned my text. She may be 16 but she still a child and she was scared to say anything because the braids started out small and she was OK with it but then after sitting there they got bigger and bigger up to the end and any professional like yourself would be able to see that those braids are not what we asked for. $400 first that style??? Cone on now!!! Ant hair dresser knows that's easy too much or braids should be smaller. But I had them redone SMALLER fir only $150 and she loves it!
