We have been using Dr Dyson for 8 years, now. When my son was 2, due to health issues he ended up with soft teeth and needed dental work. Like many, I called my insurance to get dentists in my plan but I advice everyone to interview your children's dentist. Due to the damage to his teeth, there was a lot of work and I didn't want my son to hate going to the dentist, forever. The first dentist said they strap the kid in the chair, like a straight jacket. I thought, I will never get him into a dental chair, again. A child psychologist confirmed, that could be a horrible way to go. Next, one wanted to just knock him out. This sounded ok, until further research confirmed that doing that - at his young age, (not at a hospital) could be fatal. Being their allergies have not emerged, if there was an issue they may not be able to intervene, in time. My husband being an EMT in Newark, agreed. Sometimes an ambulance can not get there in time. Dr. Dyson met with me (on a Saturday) and answered all my questions. He followed up with giving me his cell number and said "call me any time to talk about teeth". Being a father himself he understood my concerns. Dr. Dyson wants to make this experience as positive, as possible. I held my son backwards on my lap while there was cartoons and other distractions going on. Dr Dyson can fill a cavity in what seems to be a minute. The kids don't even realize what he is doing. Dr. Dyson uses laser shots to numb the area. Dr. Dyson builds a rebore with the kids before he even starts. He talks to the kids and makes them comfortable. The kids really think they are playing a game. My kids which range from 3-16 years of age; love going to the dentist and it is all thanks to Dr Dyson's wonderful approach to being a caring pediatric dentist! When I brought my 3 year old son, Ryan, there 4.5 years ago, I didn't know what to expect. We came from a dentist office that had a pediatric dentist come in once a week. They were horrific. When my 3 year old was scared and squirmy, they threatened to hold him down and make me leave the room if he didn't cooperate. I stopped them and left the room and never came back. I sought out a pediatric dentist and that is when I found "My Children's Dentist". I had no idea what to expect when we came in for a visit. I was blown away. Everyone was beyond accommodating and really made the parents and children feel safe. The dental hygienist that first saw Ryan was very easy going and playful. She didn't rush. She made sure that she didn't do anything to scare him. Then Dr. Dyson came in. He was wonderful. I had never experienced anything like this. We still use "My Children's Dentist" to this day. My son is now 8 and I have a 3 year old that we bring in as well. My 8 year old has had 2 cavities, 2 fillings and STILL gets excited to go to the dentist. That just shows that they have got to be doing something right. My 3 year old is very timid and shy. They practice the "Tell-Show-Do" and ask parents to be a silent observer. I have to admit, even though I am beyond thrilled with how they are with my oldest son, I was skeptical that they could even get my 3 year old to open his mouth. But I respected their wishes and just sat there, with my little guy on my lap and let them work their magic. It look a little time, but in the end, his teeth were checked out and even brushed! I should start by saying that I worked within the dental field for over 10 years. I've been bringing my kids here for the last three years and every visit the staff continues to impress me. I rarely wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen and if I should, I understand why. Dr. Dyson and the staff are so attentive to the needs of my kids and myself. Everything is explained to make you feel at ease and I never feel rushed out. The office atmosphere is inviting and easy going. I have insurance and have never been unfairly charged or unaware of any overages. If my kids were writing this review, they'd probably say how much they love the video game tower in the waiting room (Washington location) or the iPads readily available to them! Also, the fun toys they redeem for their tokens earned during their visit. I have to add this is an excellent place to bring your apprehensive child. My daughter was very defiant but now she loves getting her teeth cleaned; all thanks to Dr. Dyson and his amazing hygienists. read more

We love Dr. Dyson! My 4boys have been seeing Dr. Dyson and his office for 5 years and I cannot say enough good things about them. The office has the "cool" factor for the kids - movie posters on the walls, video games to play, TVs at each of the dental chairs so the kids can watch their favorite shows available at the click of an IPod. very thing is bright and colorful. My baby loves the balloons they hand out. Now they even have iPads to borrow while you wait. The hygienists are very sweet and somehow get my kids through the dreaded X-rays. The dentists (there are now 3) have a great rapport with my older boys. Dr. Dyson even gives out his own cell number in case you have an emergency. Highly recommended. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about this office. After many negative experiences at the dentist myself, I was determined to not have the same happen to my children. Having moved to NJ recently, we found this office. The first call was informative and they helped explain my insurance. We went for our first visit and got a tour and a wrapped gift for my son. He was so excited! We saw a hygienist and then the doctor. Dr. Kim is so patient and kind. Terry was so informative and gave us such helpful hints. I want to go there! I brought my other child afterwards who has special needs. Again, Dr. Kim was accommodating and took her time. I can't thank everyone enough. I will be referring everyone I know. read more

Dr. Dyson is AMAZING! My daughter was having major pain in her gums under her molar and when I called Dr. Dyson he did not hesitate to fit her in! Her regular dentist wanted her to wait a WEEK! Dr. Dyson made her laugh and feel very comfortable (which is a wonder in itself as my daughter is shy and is usually pretty fearful of dentist visits) He helped us more than he will ever know!! He was kind and it was the first time my daughter ever came home BEAMING from a dentist visit! I would...and will...recommend him and his practice to anyone and everyone!! I have never felt so welcomed and at ease in a dental office !! Melissa at the front desk is top notch! Lisa the hygienist was very knowledgeable and patient. Everyone on the staff is just incredible !! My son is six years old and now wants to go to the dentist all the time ! Dr. Dyson and his staff are the BEST!! My daughter just had her second visit with their office and both visits were wonderful!!! We have been going to Dr. Dyson for over 10 years. My kids love him and his staff is great. They are accommodating with scheduling. The dental hygienist are pleasant and engage the kids. Dr. Dyson has an awesome chair side manner that puts the patients at ease. I took my 5 year old daughter to Dr Dyson for her 2nd root canal. It was the best experience I've ever had. She was in no pain and Dr Dyson has best bedside manner. And I just found out he takes adults Woohoo!! read more
