Unfortunately, the person who cut my hair did not do it properly and the situation made me feel worse when he basically chose to tell me I'm wrong. To start things off, I'll say the place is very nice and reminds me of a coffee shop. People are very nice and will even give you complimentary refreshments. Parking can be a little difficult since it's in Ivanhoe area. For my haircut, all I needed was a trim. The agreement was just maintaining most of the length and let the hair have some flow and texture towards the top. The guy even ran his hands through my hair to follow the direction it grows in. Next thing I know, he's combining my hair in the opposite direction and cutting. At first I thought it was some technique I'd never seen before. But turns out he fully intended for my hair to go in that direction. At the end, I asked why he cut my hair that way if originally he was even moving my hair in the proper direction. His response was that my hair wants to grow in the direction he cut. I chose not to argue since it had already been done and at that point I didn't trust him to fix it anyways. However, I do know he's wrong. My hair naturally falls in the direction seen in my picture as it dries. Now it has a weird shape on the sides with no life at the top. I'm sure these people are well trained, however I had a bad experience and will not be returning.

English: This appointment was made for me and the quote was $45. I arrived on time and I was only supposed to be there for a quick wash, a small trim with face framing layers, and a dry. I just wanted my hair to look the same as the last time it was cut and KEEP THE LENGTH. The wash took over an hour, the cut was made too short and my hair was thinned out. My scalp was burned multiple times when he was blow drying it, and every time I would say it's too much he was cutting he would continue to cut more and more. I lost 4 inches of hair today. I attached a photo of right after I got my haircut 3 months ago and what this man did to me. I told him multiple times that I didn't like how it was looking and he told me that sometimes hair stylists know what's best even if it's different. I told him that I have naturally curly hair and he insisted that I didn't? How does he know better than me? I think this is extremely disrespectful to a customer that came to spend their money to not get what they ask for. I feel robbed. He made me feel bad for speaking up and I felt bullied by this man with the curly grey hair. He was one the phone the whole time with one of his friends, and was rude to me. I can't stop crying because of how bad my hair is. I hope you feel good about yourself. And he also charged $60 instead of $45 they must've up charged me for something I didn't consent to being used. Jessica listened to my objectives and described a shorter haircut that would be perfect for me for the Florida summer. She used a razor to remove the weight of my hair but kept a similar style. She walked me through the process and explained everything in detail to make sure it was what I was looking for. I found out Jessica just taught her first class (on shags) and I can see why Phillip has such high confidence in her abilities. She truly cares about her clients and makes sure they are properly taken care of, either by her or her staff. I get my Aveda hair and skin products here and when the Mint does not have an item in stock, they order it for you and contact you when the product(s) come in. This was the reason I visited the store today. Vanessa also informed me that Aveda is changing its skin care product line, and she should know the results in December. She said she would inform me of any changes and if any of my favorites were being discontinued, she would let me know so I could "stock up". Now that is great customer service! Also, I noticed the sign at the front counter stating "American Express was no longer accepted" was missing. (During my last visit three weeks ago, the receptionist confirmed this per the sign.) I asked Vanessa about this, and she stated she is accepting AmEx again as she discovered this was the primary credit card for so many of her customers. Now, that's listening and responding to your clientele! Vanessa was working the receptionist station today as she is looking for a someone that is mature and has some professional experience as a receptionist or a salon team member to take over this position.
