If I could leave no stars I would. Please take time to read especially if you're considering taking small children here. I recently visited My ER with my 3-year-old son while out of town visiting family after he sustained a fracture to his arm while playing. Unfortunately, this was the worst healthcare experience I've ever encountered. To provide context, I've been in healthcare for 11 years, with 8 years as a NICU and pediatric nurse, and I now hold a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree. I understand the challenges of healthcare, especially in pediatrics, but the care we received fell far below acceptable standards. The visit started on a positive note. The medical assistant was kind, compassionate, and understanding, clearly experienced with children as he shared that he had three boys of his own. The x-ray technician was also kind and professional. However, the FNP who attended to my son did not perform an adequate assessment. She asked me to move my son's arm for her rather than conducting the exam herself. As a fellow FNP, I found this surprising--assessments are fundamental to providing care. The most traumatic part of the visit came when a nurse from the ER side arrived to apply a splint. She entered the room without introducing herself or explaining the procedure to me or my son. Instead of taking a moment to calm my scared and hurting child, she abruptly grabbed his arm. Naturally, my 3-year-old started screaming and resisting. As a former pediatric nurse, I know how important it is to communicate with children, explain what's happening, and even let them explore the materials to ease their fears. When my son resisted, she started yelling at him to stop moving and hold still. I intervened, reminding her that he was only 3 years old, hurt, and frightened. She then turned her yelling toward me, rudely telling me that he was "old enough to listen" multiple times. It was a deeply upsetting and traumatic situation for my son and me, and it escalated unnecessarily due to her behavior. To make matters worse, as we left the clinic, visibly shaken, the front desk staff showed no empathy or apology. Instead, when I confronted them about rolling their eyes and shaking their heads, they rudely responded, "How do you know what I'm shaking my head about?" This lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was appalling. It's clear this facility needs significant pediatric training if they intend to care for children. Medical staff must learn to communicate with both parents and children in a compassionate and professional manner. As of 12/3/2024, I strongly advise against bringing pediatric patients to My ER. If you are burned out in healthcare--whether as a nurse, receptionist, or office manager--it's time to find another path. Families seeking care deserve much better than what we experienced. read more

Update 5/16: Julie, the manger here, reached out to better explain their insurance process, which is confusing. She has resubmitted the claims as well as assuring us the staff would be better trained to explain the insurance process when a patient first comes in. Hopefully that will avoid future problems for others. I appreciate her kindness and help. This facility has separate insurance acceptance 495590 for urgent care or emergency care which I've never heard of. When I asked about this they assured me it's an old policy and they accept all insurance. They told my daughter the same thing. Her insurance just denied the claim for being out of network and the bill is 5k for a steroid shot and some prescriptions. She actually went in asking for urgent care, they decided to move her to ER "just in case" (?). The woman in billing will not call, and all you can do is leave a voicemail. read more

Today our daughter went there in the morning 3/2/25. And the front desk help was beyond rude!!! So rude she made her feel like she needed to leave. Horrible and disgusting customer service! read more

I am WOWED by how quickly they got my kid back to see a physician!! It was literally only 5 minutes before he was seen! I am WOWED with how honest the doctor was when explaining her findings. She was very quick to identify the symptoms!! She could have done a lot of different tests and put my kid through a bunch of stuff for the sake of buffing up the visit, such as painful blood work, which was not necessary after she explained her opinion of my kid's symptoms. It turned out the scare was not a big deal! We left quickly and feeling much better!!! The physician was knowledgeable and professional and even personable, and we felt 100% confident that she knew her stuff!! We were very grateful that we were able to have confidence in the physician! It can be scary to see a doctor in an urgent care setting and not know if they are the "BEST" for your urgent care situation. This doctor rated at the top of the scale as a BEST doctor!! The only thing I will say is that they are both an emergency room and an urgent care. They will start you in the emergency room side to evaluate you if you do not advise them that you do not feel your situation is worthy of an emergency room setting. This might save you some money if you are confident your visit isn't a serious life threatening emergency matter. I'm not suggesting if you have a serious issue that you go to the urgent care side!! They are not as well equipped on the urgent care side to handle a serious emergency should one suddenly arise, such as chest pain turning into a heart attack!! I'm assuming the emergency side is pricier. With such high deductibles for most of us these days, this information might be helpful! I will ALWAYS choose My Emergency Room 24/7 if we need urgent or emergency care!! Very, very impressed!!! read more

Went for covid test and some STAFF NOT WEARING MASKS. In an ER...that treats sick people and tests for Covid.

Very friendly, and fast. I went on Sunday and on Monday someone Called to check on me. Today I got a post card that was personally signed. I don't have insurance and had to pay cash. It was a lot cheaper and faster than an emergency room visit at Hendricks. read more

I can't rave enough about the care we received. After my daughter had a seizure out of town over the weekend we needed to get a CT scan rather quickly. We couldn't get ahold of our primary physician or find anyone that would take her as a new patient to get checked out. We arrived, no wait and quickly saw a seizure specialist, received a checkup and a CT scan. On top of that Nathaniel Ott called and made arraignments with a neurologist for the next day. We were able to get more done in the past 24 hours than we could ever expect from our primary physicians. I almost hate to say that it's become too much politics amongst doctors groups that care is delayed by weeks if given at all. The kindness and care received from all there was amazing. read more

I want to say a big thank you to the staff at My Emergency Room in Abilene! I was in quite a bit of pain and they got me in, took X-rays and had me in a room for a Dr visit so quickly. If I could give this place no stars I would. I came in there to be seen. I have been to other concierge er like this before. The lady at the front desk doesnt ask how I am feeling her first question is what insurance I have. I reassure her I have a PPO before she had a coronary. In the midst of me feeling this paperwork out another mother and daughter come in and same thing they unfortunately were underinsured so she instructing them to go to county where they can do a payment. No compassion in her words or tones. You could tell she did not give a rats but about her patients. She then informs me I have a 250 deductible. Ok yes mam since as you see I have a great health plan can I make a payment arrangement to pay this off?(Let me remind you the other hospitals like this have never even asked for my copay. She then opens mouth and inserts foot and says we dont know that we will ever see a penny from your insurance so your deductible is to guarantee we will get something *coughs bulls#$@* So now has she not only been uncaring to someone with no insurance and me with a great PPO she is now flowing lies out of her mouth. This place brags about the patient being the number one priority but after what I see I will say Money is the only thing you care about.. I really hope you can help the attitude lady up front short black hair maybe make her the janitor because she defiantly has no business being in front of people. I think this is a good ER but the management and leadership is poor. You ought to be ashamed of yourself the way you treat the front office staff. I have worked the medical field for about 10 years now so i know that the people who work front desk and check in the patients work very hard and that hard work goes unnoticed allot of times. read more

So this place is so Awesome every other places didn't make me feel welcome but this place Haley the receptionist on point... the nurse the social butterfly nurse document document she really truly care...The Dr. Asked for for blood work EKG she is the Only One that found that my heart was enlarged the Only One and she brought paper work and read every result that she found wrong in me stood by my side and read it to me ...How many places do that None She took Care of me like I Truely Matter as a CNA we look at certain things in places I go...looking to see if I matter and Yes Yes this place they took care of me...No other Clinic or Emergency room has made me feel like I truly matter I felt Very Special...love these ppl...I will talk about you'll Greatness to alot of ppl...when they saw me in pain they went at it No Clinc No Emergency room did this this but this place went at it to see what was wrong they got me comfortable real quick...Other place didn't make me feel important but this place did I was crying because of the Great service they performed on me....Many many blessings on this place Amen and I would gave this place more the 5 stars read more

When I wasn't able to get in to my PCP I was able to be seen in this clinic. Service was fast, staff was courteous, and they even called me a day later to follow up. I will be visiting again! read more

I strongly advise people to not go to these type of Clinics. They are way more expensive than just going to a hospital ER. I will never go there again, very disappointed, I assumed that it would be a better choice. The only plus is you get in and out faster, but not without paying a ridiculous amount for a simple procedure that shouldn't have cost more than a few hundred. This is why consumers need help, there needs to be reform not only in the medical, but also in the insurance field. At least at the hospital you can get extra help through Medicaid and Medicare. read more
