I decided to call and make an appointment for a relative's eye exam. I was able to make appointments for later in the day. There's a lot of parking. It's in the same area as the old mall that's shut down, except for a few shops. It's spacious with lots of selection, but not much help from staff when you come in, and even with an appointment, you will wait a long time. As for the exam seems to be done virtually in a room, and the price is still high, even with their promotion. There are boxes and lots of disorganization around where you sit in the waiting area after your exam. It's definitely on the pricier side. And follow up for pickup after the glasses were ready, they couldn't locate the glasses read more

Tried to get some lenses replaced because of spotting and was greeted with a smile and a warm reception by Robyn. She explained the problem with plastic that had the kind of stains that mine had were not salvageable . I also showed her my sunglasses that were made by another company with a prescription that felt wrong. My "stained" pair had a prescription that was correct so she analyzed the sunglasses and said that they truly were a wrong prescription. So I said to put the good prescription into the sunglasses, and make new lenses for the stained pair. She told me there was a BOGO sale on of some kind which she deducted from the regular price. Glasses came in within 5 days and they are great ! I had a bad experience with America's Best and have now found my regular eyeglass store. read more

First, they mislead you with an advert of $95 for 2 pairs including an eye exam. I went through the eye exam and then was told the price was $248 with no upgrades and no warranties, (with those it came to $350) for 2 glasses. then they said if you don't pay it they charge you $59 plus tax for the eye exam. the staff are unprofessional, do not speak English we had to wait over 2 hours in store for a manager to come in and explain to us all these charges cause the person who worked there did not speak English, and just left us to wait and went to speak to the next customer, I will never go into that store again. Now I'm waiting for the 2 glasses we will see how long it will take, they are terrible. unfriendly, and have no customer service training. also, they do not take your insurance on any of the adverts they are having. !!!! read more

Buyer beware. They gave me an automated eye exam the first time around. Made my glasses and I could not see. After the third attempt to remake the glasses I asked to start all over. On the 2nd exam by a real live person she showed me that her prescription was right and the computer exam was not! After keeping me waiting with a scheduled appt. I asked the manager if they ever got anything right? She was snarky and responded by saying "that was a statement, not a question". If you need your glasses to see right away. Definitely not the place to go to.. it takes two weeks to get the first pair and a month to get the second pair.. I got a message twice that my glasses were ready and it was a complete waste of time because the glasses weren't even there yet.. Don't even bother calling them directly because they never answer the phone. Usually it's the main office that picks up and they don't even know what's going on... This place is a scam. My husband ordered glasses April 8 and it is now almost May and payment has been made in full. They have no idea where the glasses are. Trying to contact the store (not customer service, the physical store) results in nonsense like, let me transfer you to the front desk. THE FRONT DESK IS 20 FEET AWAY. Which of course inevitably results in a dropped call. In speaking with Luis, who is the apparently the "store manager", one of four - as everyone we spoke was a "store manager" had this to say: this isn't our fault, it's the lab. That is a fair statement. But we did not conduct business with the lab. This store, not the lab, accepted payment in full in exchange for goods and services. Our binding contract is with the store. Not the lab. When I go to Publix and order (and pay in full), for a thanksgiving turkey dinner, and they are unable to meet the business, THEY DO NOT TELL ME IT'S BUTTERBALLS FAULT AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT THEM. This is basic business ethics. The contract is with the customer, your lab's inability to produce and your inability to manage your supplier is not my problem. The amount of lies being said by everyone from this store location is MIND-BOGGLING. From different reasons why the glasses are delayed. To being placed on "lists" which was a blatant lie, as the second time we were placed on a priority list, was a week after we were told we were on it. One "store manager" said he'll send an email to the lab. Another store manager says there's no way to get a hold of the lab. Nearly everyone has said they would call with updates. Not a single call has been made. A refund was offered, which we did decline. At this point it's the principle of the matter and how badly this business is managed. Or rather mismanaged. You continue to be open. You continue to take new customers. You can continue to make contracts that you KNOW you can't meet. This is textbook definition of a SCAM. A report has been filed with the Better Business Bureau, as you continue to defraud customers and insurance. Once the claim has been submitted and billing begins, the next complaint will be filed with the Division of Insurance Fraud of the FL Dept of financial services. I submitted and pre-paid for the fulfillment of my prescription for three pair of eyeglass. I was assured that I would receive my order in two weeks. As of today, I've received one pair back after week two. The second pair after week three. We're in week five and I've yet to receive the third pair. The worst of this situation is the lack of communication and the total lack of professionalism at this location. Though the call center agents exhibit good customer service, they only have as much info as the store delivers. No one answers the phone at the physical location for either the call center agents or the customers. I've escalated this situation no less than five times, and was assured I'd get a call back from the location manager, but no response from anyone yet. After calling almost 20 times, Maceo in the call center advised that my third pair didn't pass inspection so they sent were sent back to the lab. No ETA given (or known). I believe they have missplaced or lost my glasses. Just reimburse the cost of my glasses and the prescription fee so I can be done with you. Worst experience. I came for my check up for contact lenses, on the phone person who work there told me that it's free if I will order contact lenses with them. When I came manager Luis Diaz told me that I have to pay $45. But when I came to the room the price went up to $79. So when I told them that I'm not gonna do anything today and I want my money back, they told me as a paid cash they will do the refund check. Nobody informed me about that before. I ordered glasses and contacts from the Eyelab in North Miami Beach back In November 2019. I was given a free pair of contacts by the doctor to wear for 30 days as well. I picked up my glasses in November and my contacts in December 2019. I wore the glasses for a while then I started wearing my free trial pair of contacts. I was ready to wear the prescription contacts that I ordered in January 2020, after throwing away my trial pair. I was running late for work, and I could not remember where I put my new contacts, because we'd just moved. I found them as I was about to give up and just wear the glasses. When I leave for work it's still dark outside. I walked out and everything looked funny. I started blinking to let the contacts adjust. There was a 18 wheeler truck blocking one side of the two way street. I had to drive on the wrong side of the road to pass him, and I could see head lights coming at me, but could not make my eyes focus to see how far or close the vehicle was to me. That was when I realized they messed up my prescription in my contacts. I said a prayer and hit the gas. My heart was racing and my chest started hurting, my life was at risk because I couldn't see while I was driving in the dark. I called Eyelab to tell them what happened, the lady made me make an appointment to come in about a week or a week and a half away. I was in the process of moving, so I missed my appointment. I ended up not going back until February 2020. I told the lady working there everything that happened and gave her my contacts, so she asked for a copy of my prescription and I gave it to her alone with the contacts. She told me the prescription was correct and I was wrong. After realizing I was getting nowhere with her, I asked for a supervisor, She called him over and told him her version in Spanish, because she knew I didn't understand it. When I went to speak with him I said the prescription is not right, he told me it was and he didn't even look at it. He began repeating exactly what she said to me. I took a picture of the trial contact casing before I threw it out, and I remembered it was in my phone. Since he would not listen to me, I asked him to look at the picture of my trial contacts from the doctor. After he looked at it, he compared it to the new contacts and realized they were not the same and my new prescription was wrong. Then he started listening to what I was saying. August 31, 2020 I called Eyelab in North Miami Beach today. I got the prompts to tell me what to do. I pressed 2 for existing customer and was left holding for 25 minutes. I hung up, called back and pressed 2 again for existing customer, this time I waited 42 minutes and no one answered the phone. I hung up and called back, this time I pressed 1 for new customer and they answered after 2 minutes. read more

There is no possible way to write an intelligent review of any kind of this location of this odd south Florida chain without mentioning the single most significant problem, from which all other difficulties probably flow down to customers. This branch has, by far, the rudest nastiest manager I've ever encountered in a practice that is supposedly in business to offer care for people's eyes. Her name is Odalys. I can't even imagine how they treat people with serious eye problems like cataracts or macular degeneration, or diabetes etc. If you value your peace and well-being, don't enter the door of this store. They don't know what they're doing. They don't fill prescriptions correctly and they then mock you and deride you for attempting to get a correct prescription. They also lose things into a mysterious hole, never to be found. They are totally unorganized. But the worst part is the manager mentioned, who will see to it that you don't leave the store until she condescends to you in the most arrogant way you've ever experienced in an eyeglass store. Try it for yourself. You'll see. She is the most unprofessional manager I've ever encountered. Mean. Dressed to the nines, but nothing but ugliness inside. This woman needs to be replaced asap. She must be killing business. Regardless, if this is what passes for good customer service at My Eyelab, I can't imagine anyone giving a single nod of business to them. She should be reported to headquarters. And it wasn't just a bad day, because she treated a friend of mine the same way earlier in the week. Go to a Lenscrafters instead, where people will treat your eye health seriously and with compassion, with the respect you deserve after dropping hundreds of dollars. They also obviously try to sell glasses such as progressives that you don't really need, and then the make you feel like an idiot for saying the glasses don't feel right, even after trying them for weeks or months. First, 'Stanton Optical' is the name of the established parent optical company. Stanton Optical, alone, is identified on the back side of the of the sales slip. Vice-versa and second, 'My Eye Lab,' alone, appears on the sales-slip's face or flip-side of the "Refund Policy." One would gather that 'My Eye Lab' is a later-in-life business solution which improves profit margins for Stanton Optical. 'My Eye Lab's' retail storefront positions in high-traffic volume commercial-residential mix areas should be ideal for a 9-to-5 weekday operation like Stanton Optical to "discount" and "diversify" its customer portfolio, perhaps even adding manufacturing shifts to its established laboratory, thus leveraging production and resource allocation in order to increase end-users. One imagines that Stanton's modeled projections for revenues had accounted for a three-to-five year spate of unsatisfied customers until such time as sales/customer service agents in storefronts had been selected and schooled in setting expectations by customers at a level and pace of planned product-service delivery. That's why everyone hired to interface with first-time access to 'My Eye Lab' must be skilled at educating and convincing customers of the value. Didn't know what to expect when I came in, I had previously been to the establishment to inquire about their specials and both times they treated me well. The 2nd time which was just the other day I was taken care of by Dhamelis Salazar and I have been to quite a few places to check my eyes over the years and she was amazing very kind patient and pleasant. I am very particular about any glasses and usually take forever to even decide on one and she made sure to give me my space when it was needed and also lent me a hand when we found a particular frame that wasn't available she chose another one for me that was almost identical fairly quick. First off let me preface my comments saying once you get thru the BS sales gimmicks you can pickup a good couple of pairs of glasses with an exam cheaper than anyone else except if you order your Glasses online. That said here are my issues with the sales tactics... 1. They will tell you before you pay your Glasses will be ready in 7 days. Not true their policies are 7 to 10 business days. So figure a minimum of 2 weeks before your Glasses will arrive. My second pair (prescription sun) took even longer. In the 3 visits I have made to this store I have heard at least 6 phone calls received where this had to be explained to customers trying to find out about when their glasses will be available. Clearly this is part of their sales plan to get people to pay and then are stuck waiting. -1star. 2. My second pair of prescription sunglasses took 3 and a half weeks to be ready for pickup. Glasses were supposed to have gradiant tint, showed up fully tinted. Was told they would have to be sent back. Didn't bother as I dibt want to wait another 3 weeks. -1 star. 3. The third beef I have is the sales person slipped in a charge for replacement warranty without even discussion or my consent. The receipt/bill I got was four and a half pages long and the charge was buried in there. I have never seen a bill like this where the cost for each lens (4 for two pairs of glasses) and frame. -1 star. I suspect that the sales people are working on commission or have sales quotas. You definitely have to be sharp to not be hooked into upsales for better lenses, coatings etc. If you are uncomfortable confronting these tactics I suggest you stay away. Frame selection is limited, but a fair mix at the lowest price points for BOGO. As far a quality of frames/lenses I would say that they are as good as what I purchased directly from China online and I am satisfied. Eye exam was good and I had known my prescription had changed and I needed to update. I have been wearing glasses for 25+ years of my adult life and usually order on-line replacements. I would go back again for the $19 exam but not likely for frames/lenses. read more

Walk in to see 1000 pairs (that all look the same) I was then told the special only allows me to pick from about 3 horrible looking, outdated styles. A huge, seasick green frame? No, thanks. After opting to use my own frame, and paying more, the order took over 2 weeks to arrive. They were not even assembled! Told to come back after the weekend, so the "expert" could finish the assembly. Monday, I was told the lenses had not been completed correctly, and are missing the groove needed for the string to hold them onto the frame! Useless. Tried calling Customer No-Service, spoke with dipshits that provided zero information. Tried calling local store, gave up after being on hold for 2 hours. Re-ordered the lenses, with what was promised to be "expedited" service. Right. Has now been 5 weeks, still no glasses. Website says "in production", yet, also says will be available to pick up YESTERDAY? This is ridiculous. Stay far away... Horrible...do not waste your time. I had an appointment at 4:15 and still was waiting at 6. They are unorganized. They do not take customers in appointment order. They took a person whose appointment time was at 5 after mine and they were seen at 6. And what was even worse is that there was only 5 customers.
