I can't say enough good things about this place! I started coming here about three months ago with my daughter while on maternity leave with my youngest. It is the perfect place to get her energy out in the morning. All of the staff are incredible and genuinely seem to love their job and children. My daughter is normally quite reserved and they make her feel so welcome! They do such a great job creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for kids of all personalities. I've noticed her confidence grow so much since we started coming, which has been really special to see. It's also been such a nice routine for us and a great way to get out of the house and connect with other families. I truly look forward to our visits each week, and it has been such a positive experience during this season of life. I was looking for a new class for my little girl who loves music, dancing and being busy. I signed up for the trial class and we have been going ever since then. The instructors are amazing- very helpful, knowledgeable, and caring. My daughter specifically is afraid of most men and she absolutely loves Jason. I would highly recommend. My daughter has really grown by going to my gym; she is more open socially to other children, has been working on trusting safe adults, has learned and excelled in so many skills and she just has a blast. Yesterday we had my daughter bday party at My gym. Everything was perfect.kids had a great time there and so adults! The only thing I can tell wasn't good the time they served kids food was late and before that half of kids asked for food and ate their food because they were hungry! Fun place! The instructors are fun and my son loved his class. I signed up for a drop in through Pearachute. They worked on many different skills and my son received individual attention. They have all different equipment so kids never get bored. My only concern is that they definitely have a bit of a sales emphasis. The membership is very expensive and you have to pay for classes on top of that. I felt like I had a bit of a hard sell at the end. I like the classes but it is so expensive. read more

This place is just outstanding! Extremely clean well-maintained facility and equipment that our little guy just loves to play on. He is very wild so has never done well in very structured classes and this place does a little structured activity time and a lot of free range play time. The best part about my gym is the instructors. Especially Mr. Jason! Everyone that works here is very highly engaging with the children both during the open playtime and during the station time. I have been a member of My Gym for several months with my now 1 year old. The staff at My Gym are all wonderful and genuinly interested in the children. The class structure is the same each week, but the songs, skills and activities change weekly. We have also been to Gymboree classes, but prefer the My Gym classes. What a fun place! My Gym has been able to do demos for The Parent Circle where we were able to check out the space and have the kids get a taste of what a class would be like. This is great and easy parking out front with a variety of classes and ages that this will accommodate. There is some fun indoor playground, as well as a ball pit, you can even attach swings to the ceiling, and also - if you host a birthday party here, you get passes for all of your guest to come and play again! read more

I have been bringing my daughter to My Gym for 3 years. She's a lifetime member and loved the open gym practice and play time and the 3 different classes she was enrolled in. She had once a week classes for 2 weeks in Mighty Mites for 3.4-4.5 yr olds, 2 weeks in Whiz Kids for 4.5-6 yr olds and 4 weeks in the former All Star Sports for 5+ yr olds. We even had her 5th birthday party there where the gym was closed just for the party and the coaches held organized group activities as well as open play time for an hour and 30 mins for food and cake. They took care of everything from setting up, cleaning up, and ensuring each kid was having a good time. Their equipment is good and well padded where needed. They rearrange the equipment and mats each week which seems to always get the kids excited thinking it's a whole new gym. They also close for a week at a time for deep cleaning. The coaches are all really polite and worked really well with the kids. They know exactly how to keep the kids engaged while teaching them simple skills in gymnastics and sports. But most important, they teach them how to be social, be polite, be good winners and losers, be leaders as well as participants, how to take turns, cheer each other on. They have practice and play open gym a few times a week where the kids can come and practice what the learned from their classes. They only downside, that's not the fault of the My Gym, is the parents that come to the open gym times that sit on the equipment chit chatting away and/or on their phones and not allowing the kids to play on where they're sitting and not paying attention to their own kids. Those are the kids that are rough with the younger kids and/or end up crying from getting hurt. Those are the only times where we avoid My Gym. read more

My son was invited to a 5 year old's birthday party here from one of his friends at preschool. This was actually his first out-of-school birthday party, so we weren't exactly sure what to expect. The staff -- two young adults that led all the children through a variety of structured activities and generally watched over them playing on the slides, trampolines and other equipment -- were friendly, great with the kids and worked hard throughout the event making sure everyone was safe, having fun and following the safety precautions necessary for a room filled with kids running around and playing. I don't think I saw either of them stop smiling during the entire birthday party; they were gentle with the kids that needed more attention and reinforcement for more closely following the rules, and I was generally impressed with the way they handled the group and otherwise kept the party on task and fun (especially considering this was a room full of 4-5 year olds). It's obviously a difficult job and they pulled everything off, the activities all went smoothly and they made it all look easy. All the kids had a blast, none of us parents really had to do much of anything at all, and I'd definitely recommend 'My Gym' for a birthday party for your little one and all of their friends (and parents). read more

This is third years we bringing our kid here. It's a good environment. Everyone is friendly but now we take Taekwondo. Last one month I'm seating there to pick my kid up it's very very noisy. All moms bringing 2-3 little children along and when the bigger kids playing they are running, screaming, crying and moms talking together very very loud. And you don't hear any notice from staff . I know I have kids but it's my kid nobody is responsible for it. Please do something. I don't have any more patience for it. read more

We have attended classes here since our daughter was 8 months old, she is now 2.5 years. We will continue to go until she ages out completely and then she will probably want to work there. The teachers are absolutely wonderful. The classes are awesome. She so SO strong because of the skills she has learned in these classes. I want to start out by saying my 2.5 year old daughter used to LOVE MyGym. Jason and Mary are wonderful and make the classes fun. She was always excited on "MyGym" days. My review is about the winter camp in December 2016. I talked to the owner Lindley about leaving my daughter there for three hours (she's used to being on her own at 'school' for 2 hrs); she assured me it would be safe and not an issue. When I arrived, the group was filled with 3-5 year olds, but Mary said it would be fine and that it would be ok for Anna to hang on to her stuffed animal during the camp. As a note, my daughter is the height of a small 4 year old and is wearing 5/6 clothing. I went to pick her up after two hours - I just had this weird feeling. I was met by a very rude staff member named Renee who informed me - "We're not done here." She then followed up by saying "Your daughter doesn't listen to me when other kids are around, but they listen to me." I said - "Yes, she's not even three, and we're working on that. It does look like she's the youngest child here." Renee then said snapped, "No she's not the youngest." I said - "Well, she's 2, and she's tall. You probably thought she was older than she is because of her height." Wow. I then had to ask Renee a number of times for the craft that had been done and she stomps over, sighs dramatically, and thrusts it at my mother saying "HERE." As this is going on, I'm packing up and notice my daughter's stuffed animal in the backpack. So we drive away and I said to my mom - that girl was awful, should I call Lindley? At this point, my daughter pipes up from the back seat and says - Please don't make me go back to myGym. I asked her why and she said "The lady took away (stuffed animal) and said I get it back when mom comes to get me." I thought - ok, that's not cool, I specifically asked about this. Every day since then, she has asked me to please NOT send her to myGym because of the "mean lady". I don't know what this Renee said or did to my child, but I am pissed. Did she scream at my daughter? Did she yank the animal away? My daughter is the kind of kid who gets knocked down by older boys at the park and laughs, so whatever this b* did, I can't imagine. I call Lindley when I got home that day on December 28. I think it took three calls to get one call back. I finally hear from Mary, who's incredibly apologetic. She says that Lindley is away on vacation but that she will talk to Renee. I asked Mary to please have Lindley call me back once she's back from vacation (Jan 3). Today is January 12; I've called another three times and no response back from them. I don't know - if I owned a business I'd have dealt with it on vacation if at all possible. Waiting another 9 days and not bothering to call the parent back? They obviously don't care about what happened. So just keep that in mind when thinking about taking your kids there. read more

My Gym is a nice program to go to occasionally but its very loosely structured. I would not suggest enrolling in auto pay with them, or just double check their contract because they apparently state they will still take out a final payment even if you'd prefer to stop classes immediately. I personally think there's better options for toddlers. read more

We've been attended MyGym Skokie for almost 5 years on and off with our two kids. It's almost always a great experience. My son loves the classes (it's his "favorite place") and we've had great experiences with the summer camp. My daughter also loves coming to the open gym sessions. We had her birthday party here two years ago and it was a fabulous experience - really well-run and lots of fun. The only problem we've had is when the classes are 4 kids or less, they basically just have an open gym where the staff sits back in the office and doesn't do any activities with the kids. It's frustrating because we're paying a good amount for a class and the actual open gym prices are only $5 if you're a member. I feel like every class should be run like a class, even if it is only a few kids, and not like a rest time for the staff. read more

The trial class itself was very good. Our experience afterwards, was NOT. On 6/10 my 2 and 1/2 year old son and I went to My Gym for a free trial of a toddler gym class (called terrific tots). Later that day I noticed bites primarily on his neck and shoulder, but also a few on his belly and back. These bites were consistent with bed bug bites by being three/two in a row and small. We had an exterminator come and check out his room on 6/12 but he could not find any bed bugs. However, when we hired a canine detection agency, they did find bed bugs only in my son's room at one spot of the bed. In other words, we had caught the bed bugs early. They said they could not spot any bed bugs but that their dogs were trained to detect even a single egg. The cost of hiring the canine detection agency and getting rid of the bed bugs was $1300. My Gym was the only change in my son's schedule before noticing the bed bug bites. Previous to going to My Gym, my son had been exclusively in daycare for the past 9 months without an incident. When asked for a refund from My Gym for the $47.60 fee of enrolling in the class for the first month, they refused, saying that they had a "no refund policy" and that they would only credit our account. According to My Gym, they had their gym checked for bed bugs and thus, was not at fault. I find it ridiculous that they would not allow an exception to their no refund policy and would only credit our account, even though I will never be signing up for another class again. *** Edit on 6/18: My Gym called and said that they were willing to give us a refund because we had not actually taken any classes other than the free trial class. My daughter has taken two classes at this gym and we absolutely love it. The owners are so attentive, the teachers are kind and so wonderful with all of the kids. My daughter has learned so many skills, her confidence has grown and she sings he sings other own at home. She can't get enough of the classes. I was a stay at home Dad for the second year of my daughters life and the My Gym in skokie really saved me. I started taking my daughter when she was eleven months and it was perfect learning/play facility I found. It has group time structure for parents and tots to participate in basic learning skills, then periods of free explore time for the children to discover, climb, practice gross motor skills, fine motor skills etc. I credit My Gym skokie with helping me learn how to teach my daughter how to play, move, climb, bounce. I always built my week around my My a Gym days. They saved me and helped my daughter get a head start. Priceless. Worth every penny. read more

I do like this place for my 2 kids. 3 y old and 14 month old. They obsoletely love it. The organized classes are structured well in 5 to 10 min increments so the kids are engaged and there is free time in between. The things I do not like as a parent is they do not always return calls and the equipment could be sterilized and cleaned better specially with all the yang kids there. read more

My DD really enjoys Mygym. All the staff are super friendly. Even after we were gone 6 months (for school), we came by to do an open play & they remembered my DD. I was totally impressed by that. The zip-line is a hands down favorite. You can do open play w/o being a member for $5. I think that's a good deal for your child to have fun, burn some energy, play & explore the equipment. Remember it is like a gym that requires monthly dues if you plan to take a class. The staff can make or break a place & we give them a thumbs up for sure! Cody is the best. read more

I have been taking my daughter to her gym class every Saturday morning and she has a blast. The instructor Gisele, is amazing and very attentive to my baby needs. My daughter loves her. I feel safe letting my daughter crawl around and explore the gym. It's clean and the instructors are right there with their cleaning suppliers if a baby spits up. This is my fourth year as a My Gym parent. I started taking my oldest son when he was one (he will be five this spring) and my two-and-a-half-year-old son is now in his second year of classes. I also did one round of classes at a local Gymboree and definitely feel that I get more bang for my buck at My Gym. Not only have My Gym classes (and their Open Plays) been a wonderful physical outlet for two very active little boys, but I also strongly believe that the peer interactions and structured teacher-led portions of the classes went a long way toward preparing my older son for his first year of preschool last year. I am confident that they are also doing the same for my youngest. read more

We took my child here for a few months and at first it was great. Nice teachers and my baby enjoyed it. But very quickly it deteriorated. Turnover for teachers was so high that almost every week there seemed to be a new teacher and most seemed to want to be anywhere other than teaching at My Gym. The other thing was they allowed clearly very sick kids/babies to stay and play so my child was literally always sick after coming here. It was shocking to me that every single time we would come there would be sick kids everywhere and no one seemed to care. One time they allowed older siblings of a child in the class hang out there and one of them sounded like she had bronchitis and she was coughing everywhere. This place is teeny tiny so its not like you can move away easily from sick people and of course its not like they can possibly clean every nook and cranny. Eventually, I said forget it (was sick of having a sick baby) and switched to a different place and suddenly no more sick baby (the new place enforced the "no sick kids" rule). This was awhile ago so I'm hoping maybe they have cleaned things up and gotten stable staff now. The place has potential but it needed a lot of work on these pretty major issues. read more

The owners are also the instructors for my son's toddler class and you can tell the owners absolutely love what they do and the kids love them right back. There is a great balance between preschool readiness, exercise, gaining confidence learning new skills, and fun. They are learning to follow directions, listen to teachers and take turns all in a fun and playful environment. They have fun, learn new skills and get so much energy out. We love My Gym! My daughter absolutely loves the staff, the classes, and the facility. We've been attending classes at My Gym at least 3 times a week for almost a year. The owner, Lindley, has a knack for hiring excellent staff who clearly love what they do! I always feel comfortable there and I know that the teachers love my daughter and strive to keep her safe and happy. The classes are wonderful and my daughter has learned invaluable skills at My Gym-including how to sit in a circle, take turns, share, and follow directions. I've been a member of My Gym Skokie since 2008. I joined when my first son was around 2 and I'm currently a member with my second son whom is 2 1/2. I love the teachers and the facility. It is very clean and always entertaining. They change the floor plan each week and have a new and exciting swing/game/toy/gymnastic each week. The classes are fun and instructive. If you are looking for something more physical for your child then My Gym is a great option. We also had my son's second birthday and it was a blast! Both instructors were awesome.
