Not sure how this business is still operating - similar story to everyone else. Ordered a pair of horse skid boots from them on EBay. Item updated as shipped- per tracking today, it is out for delivery in Fairbanks, Alaska and I live in California. When I called, was told "per the shipping department, it was properly addressed and USPS must have miss-sorted the package." They told me this doesn't happen often but their EBay and FB reviews say otherwise. She then went on to tell me the item is currently out of stock but she will be getting more mid to next week. I asked for a refund and she did do that. The item is still showing as the seller having more than 10 available on EBay. Won't do business again - buyer beware. This bag not a shipping material did not hold up, so when it arrived my daughter could see her Christmas gift. A company that does not value the products you buy has issues. Looking at the reviews they have low shipping standards. Called and they said they would offer me a return/exchange as my daughter cried under bed. Bought $182 worth of discontinued PetHub QR code dog tags and they sent them to Waterstown, WISCONSIN!. I'm in California. They're in California. i don't know if it's carelessness, incompetence or intentional fraud but this isn't the first time they have send packages to a different state or faked a USPS tracking number. I've called and left a message and if I don't get satisfaction in 24 hours I am leaving negative feedback for all on eBay and filing a claim with PayPal. Just here to say the same thing everyone else has. We ordered off of Amazon and were given an arrival date. Arrival date came and went out tracking into usps site directly and it was showing as it hadn't even made it to the post office. Contacted the company through amazon and got word for word almost what everyone over the last two years has gotten from them. Thankfully I read the reviews and instead of waiting further for an item that probably wouldn't have come we canceled the order and Amazon refunded us our money. Should've read reviews before buying from this seller... Bought an entire set of Classic Equine Legacy2 boots (fronts, hinds, no turn bell boots) all in one for what I thought was an awesome deal considering just for the Fronts it's $95 not including shipping. Anyway paid almost $200 for the entire set, the next day was notified that the package had been shipped, 3 days later got a notification that the package had been delivered but not to me. it was delivered to the porch of some person in colorado when it was supposed to come to Idaho. My SO immediately contacted PayPal and informed them of what had happened, we had checked the shipping information to make sure that everything was correct and it was before we even contacted anyone, This company hijacked a shipping code to try and scam us out of almost $200. After PayPal or eBay contacted the seller we get a notification that our package is on its way when we clearly stated we wanted a FULL REFUND. I digress in the end I did receive the product I ordered but I will never purchase ANYTHING from this seller again. be leary of buying from this seller they are scam artists! read more

They went above an beyond for me today. My dog was diagnosed with cancer this weekend and had his leg amputated on Monday. I had ordered a harness to assist him through Amazon the same day. The order was not going to reach it's destination by Thursday to be brought to me in Mexico by a friend. I contacted them directly and they overnighted a new order to a different friends address so that it could be brought down to me before my friends left on Friday. The pickup was in 5 minutes and they dropped everything to take care of it. I can't say enough good things about the customer service. They are a life saver. My dog is a 130 pound Rottweiler and without it we would be in a world of hurt. Thank you EVERYONE at Hooves & Paws for going above and beyond!! read more

I've ordered 2-3 pairs of Ruffware Grip Trex boots thus far, from Hooves and Paws. My 14.5 yr. old lab has a rear leg genetic, progressive, degenerative spine neuropathy and wears specially adapted boots so that despite his ataxia, he can still walk flat footed w/o scraping his toes along the ground. I can't thank the staff that work for this company enough. Firstly, they are the only ones that I know of that will sell you a pair verses all 4 boots. I do not appear to be paying any extra for this. Recently the special adaptation for 1 boot broke and I needed a new pair pronto. I called H&P and spoke with Brianna. Wow, that was the best thing I ever did. Not only did she send me a pair that day but gave me a 20% discount and waived the shipping! We had a really nice conversation, she was a great listener re: my dogs issues and wanted only to make everything less stressful for me (which she certainly did). O.K. it gets better. I wanted an extra pair in blue in case this happened again. She ordered them and yes said she would honor the same discount. In the meantime I went to the hardware store with the original boots and special adaptation that had broken. My dog cannot walk in a straight line w/o these boots. Well they came up with some creative fixes and the current boots are fine for the time being. I e-mailed Brianna and told her that I did not need the blue ones at this time however, I said that I don't renege on my word and would buy them if this is what needed to be done. She got back to me right away and told me not to worry about it. They were not a special order and to contact her when Duke was ready for new boots again. Sorry this is so long. Probably the 4th or 5th review I've ever done. Merchants want everything reviewed and I'm just not up for it. However, how could I not say something about a company and the people that make up the company, who are so helpful, nice, genuine, etc. I did read some poor reviews from 2015. Hopefully those issues are resolved by now and the company has grown from the input. So thank you all who endured this long review but it all had to be said. My personal mantra is buy your stuff here, it's all worth it. They have your back if anything goes wrong at least that's my total experience and I'm glad to have the opportunity to say it. read more

This store is amazing they basically have everything you need for you horse or dog, if they don't they can find it for you! Feel free to ask the staff questions about your animals they are mostly very knowledgeable on horses and what brand of equipment or feed to get for them. Great costumer service! Stay away from these people! They are dishonest and unprofessional. I received a pair of gloves as part of a gift exchange. They were too small (and of really bad quality too), so I contacted the company to ask for an exchange to a men's size. They told me to put them back into the package and write "refused" on it and take it to the post office. Additionally, they asked for a repackaging check for $5.95. After about a month I called and asked what had happened to my gloves. The woman told me that they had no idea what I was calling about, that maybe I meant another company. I finallly talked to the owner, who at first denied having recieved the gloves until I told her that I had a copy of the cancelled check. She then agreed to send me a replacemet, but when they arrived they were a larger size, but not Mens, and were still too small. I called the company and told them the the gloves were still too small. They told me that they did not have any Men's gloves. Because I wasn't the actual purchaser they could do nothing. Because this was an anonymous facebook gift exchange I couldn't reach the purchaser (except by posting a question to the group, which I may do so that everyone can see what a terrible company this is). I told them that I would take something else of equal value or a credit, but they told me that they could only issue a credit to the purchaser. I have never seen such terrible customer service. Not only do they not pay for shipping for returns, they tell people to use a fraudulent method of returning items (writing "refused" on an already opened package). read more

My Doberman had surgery on his left hind paw, I wanted to get a set of MuttLuks All Weather Boots to keep his bandage dry on our twice daily walks. I needed them right away - it's been raining and if the bandage gets wet it's $110 for a re-bandage. After two failed attempts to order them online from OTHER vendors (none of whom seem to understand that "overnight shipping" means I want it to arrive tomorrow), I called these good folks. I wasn't sure what size I needed because of the bandage, so they put a Medium and a Large aside for me. I drove to their store and everyone there - including the other customers - couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Sharon and Tim were experts at helping get the right fit. I bought two sets, an XXL that fits the bandaged foot, and a L for when he's healed up and the bandage is off. If you've had trouble ordering from them online through Amazon, I suggest you try ordering directly from their web site or just calling them up. These are honest, genuine folks who care and know about animals and what they're selling. Even though the drive was nearly six hours round trip, it was worth it. This company sells on ebay. They have items posted for sale that are not available anymore which means they are not updating their site. I had to go through several items before they "had" something I wanted. Like a dope, I ignored the red flags, and still ordered. After much deciding, I purchased a dog harness and specifically gave my dog's measurements more than once. After a relatively lengthy wait, I was finally sent a new harness that was about two sizes too large. They wanted me to give positive feedback in order to get free return shipping. Sorry. I don't play that. So I paid for the return shipping, got a quick refund and cut my losses. Unfortunately, ebay is set up in a way that I was not able to leave feedback after all was said and done. This is what should have happened: "We are sorry about the confusion, we will send you another one in the correct size. Please return the incorrect one with the prepaid sticker we will send you." If I could give zero stars I would. This company does not ship when promised. I bought an item from them on Amazon. The item was to arrive on June 8th. I checked tracking several times on USPS and it showed USPS had not gotten the package. I checked on June 9th and USPS showed the package was given to them on that day. I needed the item on the date guaranteed and I had to buy one locally. I have asked for a refund and they are not cooperating. I am working with Amazon and will be filing a complaint. read more

By the time I realized it I couldn't cancel the order on amazon. the DAY I got it I sent a refund request. They were completely unresponsive until I filed a complaint with amazon! BUYER BEWARE !. Do not shop from this company. They are listed on Amazon, and I ordered boots for my dog. Upon receiving the items, I realized they are too big and I sent back in the original package, following the instructions given on Amazon website for returns. At that point I wanted smaller size boots. Now, keep in mind, that their return label has no traking number on it and I did not sent the package with a tracking number, but only with their return label on the original package. At the same time, I sent my car payment, my cell phone payment and my rent without any tracking number. Everybody received the mail,, except them,. Funny don't you think so? So I've been fighting with Amazon and guess what? They will not refund my money claiming they don't have the product that I returned. So now I am out of the money and the product I will also not renew my Premier membership on Amazon because they decided to trust the seller and not the buyer in this case after I spent thousands of dollars buying from Amazon. So again, beware if you buy from them and you have some sort of problems with the product, you will have a hell of a time getting your money back. I mean you won't see a penny from them. I should have checked Yelp before purchasing a Myler bit for my horse on eBay from this company. I was immediately suspicious when I got a notification that the bit was delivered, but it was not. When I checked the tracking number, I found that the package was delivered to an address in Virginia (I live an hour away from Apple Valley in Southern California). I contacted the seller and got a rambling response with the "real" tracking number that raised red flags. I checked the tracking number and it was false. I immediately notified ebay and Paypal. If you pay through Paypal, they won't release funds until the item has shipped. When I looked at the shipping history on eBay, I found that the seller created a shipping label the day I ordered, then cancelled it immediately after funds were released by Paypal. They then created another shipping label and sent the product to a different address in Virginia. BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SHADY COMPANY. read more

We have been ordering a supplement for one of our dogs that has a digestive problem from this company for at least two years. At $78.00 a pop, they have made a good amount money off us. A week ago, we placed an order, but it didn't show up in the one or two days it normally does, since they are only about 70 miles away. Upon tracking the package, I could see that the package had been shipped and then went on a road trip to Champagne, IL, back to Southern California, then to Central California, where it mysteriously dropped off the USPS radar. Being a loyal customer, I contacted their office, telling them it appeared to be a USPS issue. I asked if they could send a replacement and I would return the lost package, if it ever showed. I was told that I would have to place another order and pay again. I explained that money was extremely tight, so this would not be possible. I also explained that we had just run out of the supplement, but they refused to cooperate. I understand that this is most likely a USPS screw up, but my wife has a couple of online stores and like most other sellers, she has had issues with USPS. The way she would handle a problem like this, is to make sure the customer gets what they paid for and deal with the post office later. This is obviously not their way of doing business. In closing, we will be looking for another source and if our dog becomes ill, because she's not getting her supplements, the vet bill will be going to Hooves & Paws. UPDATE: Package is still missing as of 10/16/15. Hooves and Paws was just contacted again and my wife was told that they would not recall the package, or refund our money. They are aware of our dog's pancreatic problems and have been told that they will be held responsible for any vet bills that we may incur. I bought dog boots through this company on Amazon for $69.95. At the same time we bought related $15 boot liners directly from Amazon which the reviews said were necessary to keep the boots on the dog's paws. We tried the boots and liners on one walk and the boots did not work. The dog could easily throw them off in a minute. We put them back on a couple of times on the same walk to no avail. We bought a different kind of boot directly from Amazon which worked great. We submitted a return request to this company through our Amazon account, got an authorization and sent them back UPS within 3 weeks of purchase. They were received by this company, rejected and the package sent back to the UPS store. I called this company and was told they do not accept items that had been used, regardless of whether it was one time or not. I asked how are you supposed to know if the product works without trying it once. They politely said too bad. Nowhere was this policy stated. I filed a complaint through Amazon. Amazon immediately refunded me for the boot liners saying they didn't even need to be returned. Amazon contacted this company which responded with 2 emails, the first ignoring the return and saying they hoped I was happy with the purchase, and the second saying I was outside the 30 day return period (which I wasn't when they rejected the UPS package). I registered another complaint with Amazon and got another return authorization from this company, no doubt to Amazon's pressure, but was warned there might be a re-stocking fee deducted. I incurred another UPS charge sending the package back again. I emailed this company saying the package was being sent back and included the boot liners they were not entitled to (a product they must sell also - so they could resell it), since I didn't want to ask the UPS office to have to open the package, remove the liners, and re-seal the package. I also told them that since I had incurred two UPS charges (over $20 total) and was sending them back a $15 dollar item they were getting for free that I did not expect any re-stocking fees or other charges reducing my refund. The refund was processed but they charged me a 20% re-stocking fee saying they usually have a larger re-stocking fee because they had to clean the boots and remove dog hair (from one wearing which didn't last long), and that they were doing me a favor. I told them they could either change their mind on the re-stocking fee or send me back the items they got for free (which I really don't need), and if not, I would register my experience on customer websites and with Amazon. I did not get any response so I'm writing this review. They were polite throughout the entire experience, but that does not change the irritation and time they caused me. In the end it cost me over $20 of UPS charges and with their $14 dollar re-stocking fee, I got 50% of my purchase back. They got a free $15 item. The money is not the real issue.
