Brenda is the best seamstress I have ever been to! She is so so affordable and has saved many items that I thought were going to have to be discarded! I have been to seamstresses in Boston who not only werent up to par with Brenda but also charged me A LOT more money than Brenda. I really truly couldn't recommend this shop more. She is friendly, knowledgeable and so sweet. I will drive the 45 minutes to her shop forever. Now if only I could stop snagging my clothes on stuff! read more

Sadly, this lady is nice, but our experience is truly awful and there is simply no excuse for it. I brought fabric to her AFTER speaking with her at length, asking if she could make me a reproduction 18thc. ladies jacket. She was a bit prickly and indignant, saying she has done all manner of complicated sewing on bridal gowns for over 30 years, and "OF COURSE" she could do this! After she had had my fabric, etc. for OVER 6 MONTHS, and I had not heard from her, we called her. She only then said to come in for a fitting of a muslin 'mock up', setting the appointment for a week or two later. She did some pinning to the mock up at that time, complaining a bit about the complexity of the pattern directions. I again asked her if she could do this or not, and she INSISTED she could. Again, we never heard from her, and again we called after close to a YEAR went by! She had us come in again, and this time my husband went too. The muslin pattern she had made had not been touched, and she had not even started to make the actual jacket! IT WAS NOW A YEAR AND A HALF SINCE WE HAD GIVEN HER A DEPOSIT, AND THE FABRIC, THREAD, PATTERN, ETC.! In this time she of course worked for many other customers who came to her long after I did! Now, it is July of 2012. Brenda has had my fabric etc. FOR TWO YEARS! We have NEVER heard from her since we were there at our initiation about 6 months ago! I need my outfit. Enough is enough. I have a small business as well, and I have NEVER treated customers this way! In the two years this lady has had our fabric, and agreed to make the jacket, SHE HAS NEVER ONCE CALLED US; WE HAVE HAD TO CONTACT HER! Today, July 24, my husband went to her shop to pick up my pattern and fabric, telling her she could just keep the deposit. Now, we are back to square one, and must find someone else to make the jacket we thought we would have two years ago! We feel that all of this was just so unnecessary, and could and should have never happened. We are very disappointed in this woman's unprofessional and uncaring attitude, and we regretfully cannot recommend her to ANYONE. Save yourself a lot of grief and stress and go elsewhere. read more

I couldn't disagree more with the first reviewer. I have taken my things to my little sewing room for years! Starting with my prom dress. She did a beautiful job! I also had her do alterations to my wedding dress and she helped my whole wedding party. She has also done things here and there for me and my family. I have witnessed her do amazing transformations on many friends clothing too. Extremely versatile. I have purchased knitted baby clothes and she has custom made things for me to give to other people. I personally wouldn't go by someone that has only been to her once. Some people are impossible to please anyway. I will continue to bring my things to her and strongly recommend giving her try if you haven't already. read more

Brenda was amazing!! I brought her my mothers wedding dress which she cut down and added a panel so I could wear it as a surprise for my rehearsal dinner. I also had her create a custom table runner from doilies and a few other projects. I found her to be friendly and very easy to work with. read more

And I am sure that there are people in my area who are closer to where I live who I could try out to see if they do a good job. But I don't do that. I periodically visit Conway, and when I do, I visit several places for several different reasons; Home Depot, Lowes, Settlers Green, etc. So, if any of my clothes need alterations, Nancy will be one of the stops that I make on my next visit to Conway. She has a great sense of humor. She is a pleasure to work with. She does a great job. She charges a reasonable price for her work. And she has a reasonable turn-around time. Since I was going to have some plumbing work done, I went for the shower/tub mixing value replacement and a new water heater too. I was in communication with Jenine and scheduled the work. They showed up with the water heater and new shower parts and did the job perfectly. Even turned the water heater so that the front was easier to access. Eddie and his crew were prompt, communicated well and finished the job promptly. Will definitely use them again. Can't say enough good things about them.
