Checked out their website and found out they are literally down the road from me. The website is nicely organized. Your able to search for teas based on flavor, health benefits, and mood. Their teas are organic, another reason I was hooked. Another bonus for me was being able to pick up my purchase and save on shipping. I try to support local whenever I have a choice. They included a cute thank you note in the box. I just tried the minty green tea and I'm hooked. No bitterness and very tasty. I've found my tea source from here on out.

While most of the products were bagged food items, it still gave the store a disorganized appearance. Since this was my first time visiting, I wasn't familiar with how the shopping process worked and there was no clear guidance available. After being in the store for a couple of minutes, I called out for assistance. A worker approached, and I asked how the process worked--whether it was self-service or if staff retrieved items for customers, since I didn't see any pre-packaged bags available. His response was, "I'll get what you need. That's not happening, my man. It's a wrap for self-serve." I said okay and started looking through my list. Within seconds, he asked, "Do you know what you want?" The interaction felt rushed from the beginning, and his demeanor came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. I've spent a lot of time in the Eastern Market area over the years before relocating to another part of downtown, so I'm familiar with the neighborhood and its businesses. However, the way I was approached made me feel like I wasn't welcome there as a customer. Whether intentional or not, the interaction left a very negative impression. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. There are at least two other spice stores on Russell Street that offer similar products with much friendlier customer service and a more welcoming atmosphere.

She grabbed me a box of tea with all Chinese characters which I could not read at all. She assured me as I cashed out that her husband likes the tea for his cough. She said try it and if it doesn't work to come back and she will make me up a tea to try out when I come back. The tea for coughs smells like a dried herb or root and there's a hint of sweetness to the tea too, doesn't smell the greatest but if it curtails my persistent cough I am all for it. Upon translation there is golden ginger wild chrysanthemum, gangmei, caffeine acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine maleate and peppermint oil and they recommend 2 cups a day. It'd be nice if you could maybe try out some tease, not saying I need to smell or taste every one of them, but my husband ended up bringing down some of the jars so I could smell them myself. My only gripe about this business is there are no ready made samples to taste like you find in other shops like this and/or the ability to order a hot tea of your choice to try. I really find that tea shops that offer this definitely help you avoid getting a tea you are unhappy with once you get home and make your first pot.
