What a great little organic store. All the grass fed, regeneratively farmed meats, A2 milk, cheese, eggs, goat cheese, some produce and staples; I love it here. They have a large variety of frozen meats and a small fridge of fresh meats. I didn't venture too deep, but they have many organ meats as well. They are very friendly and seem like they really get to know and take care of their regular customers. I feel so good about shopping here; I wish them all the success! To be able to support farmers and a family owned business is amazing. I will be checking out their Dearborn location ASAP. read more

I would suggest to the owners to keep their politics out of the store. The MAGA gear may be perfectly acceptable to wear outside, but you are going to alienate a good portion of your customers. I like the store otherwise, they have products I cannot find anywhere else. I pay a lot of money to get healthy foods there but am considering going somewhere else because of the politics. read more

Pure Pasture is my favorite place to buy meat and poultry as well as organic produce. It's a very small quaint little store but has the best pasture raised beef, chicken and pork you will ever eat. Very worth visiting this store. The employees are very helpful too. read more

I try to only get my meat here or at eastern market. I love that there's an option for locally farmed meat, eggs, and dairy on my radar. I buy a huge load of frozen meat to ration for several weeks every time I come. They also sell local A2 milk that I give my toddler. Their shipments come in Wednesdays and it goes quick. They also have dry goods and some healthcare products like soaps. read more

We stopped by here because several people mentioned it to me recently. We raise a lot of our own meats on our farm but it's always nice to see a small brick and mortar selling quality products. We searched out products that we don't have at home and were pleasantly surprised to find Buffalo, Elk, and a lot of other exotics. My boy LOVED the Elk!!! There are a lot of sausages, grass fed meats, free range, and organics. If you are picky about your meat products then you're gonna love this place. BRING LOTS OF MONEY!!! They have a nice selection of pastas, and dry goods. A lot of the products aren't priced. If Mickie likes it here you know it is good meat, period. That lady knows her food! I needed lamb for my mom so I decided to give this place a whirl. Quality lamb can be hard to find and my mom is picky. I called ahead and no worries. Happily when I got there they were running specials on chicken as well so I picked some of that up too. Since I liked them on facebook I see they do this particular reduction a lot, their sale chicken prices can even beat the mainstream markets. They carry Calder dairy products, breads from Lakeside bakery, Steve's paleo products, organic fresh veggies, fermented vegetables, drinking vinegars, organic seeds, you name it and it is there. If you don't see it, ask. It's that kind of place. Friendly people, terrific goods. Unintimidating to the unhealthy type me with sketchy knowledge, they welcome all kinds and will be more than happy to share tips and knowledge with you. That helps. It is also not nearly as expensive as I feared. So far, so good! read more

We've been a customer since they opened and it's never failed to disappoint. Lots of great organic, free range, natural and hormone free meat and sea food options fresh or frozen. Good selection of specialty meat (venison, buffalo...). Local products for cheese, meats and other goods available all in one stop. They offer free range turkeys from a local farm for the holidays and the availability goes fast. One top favorite item is the milk. The skim (pink cap) is thick and smooth and FULL of flavor and they're in glass bottles which makes it taste even better. It's pricey but mostly worth it! read more

Gluten Free Review: I found this store while I was looking for an organic butcher. This is a really good spot to get locally sourced, organic and grass fed meats. They have a whole freezer dedicated to stock bones & they make the best stock I've made. I always keep chicken backs & feet from there on hand in my freezer. The rest of their gluten free selection is smaller than other health food stores in the area, but I believe their focus is on meat which is was I was looking for. read more

Stopped in visiting my sister...unbelievable selection of meats with a very enthusiastic knowledgable staff. I bought a 4.5 pound pork shoulder for smoking and it came out delicious. The cut was perfect, limited marbling, even smoking... I will be back next visit and my sister just found her new meat store. read more

Lots of fresh and frozen meat to choose from including the usual and not the not so usual (venison and elk). Small selection of organically grown produce. Fresh free range eggs and diary. Family owned right in my back yard. Customer loyalty program too. My new go to place for organic food and many of the products are locally sourced. They are open 7 days a week too. This place has great organic meat and groceries. The chicken they sell is so much better than what you can purchase comparably in the major groceries store. Best part is they stock meat, eggs, milk, etc from locally sourced farms. Their prices are reasonable for the products they sell. I found that after defrosting three packages of frozen liver two of the packages had broken seals. The contents had to be discarded. I didn't feel comfortable using it as the liver appeared discolored compared to the contents of the package with an intact seal. Also, some of the fresh meat in the cooler was past the use by date. That should have been my clue not to buy anything. read more

Pure Pastures is a God-send. Where else in this area would I be able to find ox tail, Calder's fabulously creamy, delicious butter, and just a huge variety of so many pastured and organic products. Gary and his staff are always ready to help me find what I might be looking for. If I'm after something not in stock they can tell me what day it should arrive. Decent products (however most meat is NOT fed organic feeds, only non-GMO). Pricing is confusing. One time, the owner accepted a competitor's coupon. Upon next visit, the owner gave groceries to the customers in front of me "on the house," & then did not accept the same competitor's coupon for me that he did at my last visit. Although some prices are posted, it's hard for me to plan groceries there & know what to expect to pay. When you're paying top dollar for meat, I just wanna know what to expect. Your best choice is to buy directly from farmers for a more set price (& perhaps better/organic feeds), but in a pinch this is probably the better option in the area compared to other grocers. read more

Great store because there isn't a lot of competition but kudos to Garry and Mary for bringing it to us. However...it's really not convenient to shop there. Why? 1.) Because of the way the store is organized and rearranged periodically you need help finding stuff and the "help" is tied up, 2.) When you find it you'll likely have questions due to the way it's marked (regarding weight, price, cut, source, etc.) so you're not ready to bring it to the counter, and 3.) The kind of folks the business attracts either have a lot of questions about how the products support the various lifestyles they've recently chosen, how to prepare "grass fed" meat or make a "bone broth", want to know when certain products will be in, or maybe they just want someone to talk to. Certain farms do a great job with packaging and labels and if you can find what you need right away and the cashier isn't tied up in a long discussion and can get to you immediately, it's great. It just doesn't happen that frequently. I also tried to take advantage of some great pricing for 10lbs of chicken breasts, twice, only to find that it was really a "first come, first served" type reservation...not something set aside in my name, so I missed out. They need more and more knowledgeable help in the store, love everything else and wish them well. Will try again periodically. read more

wanted to say, that they have wonderful Gluten free options. my mom went in to eat. noticed that they had GF buns. So she ordered a GF burger for my daughter. So i call and ask about how they were made. a lot of pizza places say they have gluten free crust. but it is used in the same pan. ( which means it's not truly GF) I spoke to the owner about their preperation of GF food. He was so knowledgeable about GF it was amazing! And their practices to insure that no cross contamination happens is incredible! if u have celiac disease this is the place to go! we are a very happy customer. who is going back for more!! read more
