I received a box of assorted candies as part of my Yelp Elite status. A true foodie and I also love middle eastern culture, this was an amazing opportunity. The box arrived on time and I reviewed the tasting video after the event because it's finals week. The items are all amazing. I enjoyed the piece with the cinnamon and walnut mixture. The Jordan Almonds we're great and my husband adored the chocolate candied orange slice. Thank you for all that you do to bring these amazing flavors to the Midwest!

Pistachio cream chocolate - my favorite!

Hashem's is truly a treasure and I hope more people will discover it. Service is always friendly and exceptional. They always offer samples, and are smart to do so because you WILL be back for more. If you love gourmet chocolate, you absolutely must try their imported chocolates. They're right up there with the best gourmet chocolates - forget Godiva, go for Hashem's. They're cheaper and more delicious. You know how when you receive a box of chocolates and you start eating them but you really only like a couple flavors in the box? Not so with Hashem's. I've tried a dozen or so different ones so far and have loved almost all of them - and I am fairly picky about chocolate - no novelty chocolate for me. My absolute favorite are the pistachio cream squares with the gold wrapper. If you're looking for a great gift, buy a pretty box somewhere, then fill it with an assortment of these wonderful chocolates. They're $19.99/lb but seem to average out to about a dollar each (some less, some more) in my experience. Well worth it and a bargain compared to the $3-4/chocolate that gourmet chocolate makers charge. A couple visits ago, I received samples of both the mulberry Turkish delight and rose halawa. I don't normally care for Turkish delight much, but that one was flavorful and delicious. The halawa is a sweet with an interesting flaky texture that melts in your mouth. It was so interesting (in a very good way!) that I had to go back for more and try other flavors (pistachio and chocolate) - all were great but I think I liked the rose best so far (and I don't normally like rose flavor!). Next, I think I'll try coffee. The nuts are great too. I've tried a couple of the pistachio varieties. All in all, Hashem's is a very unique little store and a true treasure of the community.

What a hidden gem! I was a kid in a candy store at this place. When visiting Michigan, the middle eastern coffee is a must and I won't get it from anywhere, but here. The quality of hashems Arabic coffee is unbeatable. I am a coffee snob and this place has the real deal. Huge shoutout to Jamal for giving me his recommendations on what blends to get. I've tried all of his recommendations and they've all been amazing. Not only do they sell coffee here, but tea blends, any kind of oil you could possible think of, specialty candy and even tea kettles. If you wanna impress your middle eastern in laws, buy something from here!

I went because I saw this listed on the Yelp Elite site. I didn't make it on the day of the event, but I am so glad I found this place. I drove 30 minutes but it was worth the drive. First it was the cleanest bulk store I've EVER seen! The assortment of 10'a of flavored nuts, cashews, pistachios, almonds were fantastic. Who has so many flavors of nits. Salt, barbecue, saffron, spicy, so many I can't remember. Look at my pictures and see the labels. The candy, OMG, my friend said it was the perfect place for different color wrapping of candy, dates with nuts, etc. The place smelled like coffee, and candy which is a winner for most people. The people who worked there were incredibly helpful and warm. I love it! Go for a new place to buy coffee! I got some coconut and Carmel coffee, mixed. But they have Michigan Cherry and lots of Turkish coffee, they mix on site. They are Coffee Consultant. Go for a new place to buy nuts. The candy, you and your kids will love. What a hidden gem! Love it and I will be back.

    Multitude of spices.

Very friendly and knowledgeable about spices, coffees, and nuts...along with sweets. Coffee is roasted by them and can me customized to your tastes. Spices are fresh and very pungent, great for any special recipes. Everything is very fresh and comes directly from growers. The smell alone when grinding the coffee bean gives a coffee lover, like me, a high. I have to say I'm a big fan of the Iranian pistachios, cubed Coconut and the middle eastern sweets. Truly a hidden gem of the city! Highly recommend a visit!

Fresh ground french roast espresso. $8.99 Can't wait to try. The aroma is great!

I've visited some coffee shops & this has by far has been the best. I visited on a quest for espresso. As a novice espresso brewer (even though I drink ALOT of espresso) I needed help. I walked in and was lost in the wall of coffee beans that hits you at the front door. As I gazed at the massive amount of fresh coffee beans a person who worked there interjected. He explained the difference in grounds, what espresso really was, and how to get a good cup of espresso. I walked out with a big bag of espresso, a new found knowledge of espresso, cool ranch flavored corn nuts (SO GOOD), and tips for my new Mr. Coffee machine. I must say that my espresso brewing anxiety was lowered after my visit to Hashems Nuts & Coffee! I went home & made a bomb double shot of espresso with just the right crema. Take that big chain coffee chains!

We started with the Kale Caesar Salad, which was crisp, fresh, and perfectly dressed not overly heavy but still packed with flavor. The Bang Bang Shrimp had the ideal balance of crispy texture and creamy heat, and the Halloumi Cheese was grilled beautifully with that salty, savory bite that makes it addictive. The standout for me was the Short Rib Pappardelle rich, tender, melt-in-your-mouth short rib layered over perfectly cooked pasta. It's comforting but elevated. The Whole Deboned Branzino was incredibly fresh and flaky, cooked to perfection with clean, bright flavors that didn't overpower the fish. We also had the Honey Zaatar Salmon, which was such a unique combination slightly sweet, herbaceous, and perfectly balanced. And don't skip the truffle fries crispy, aromatic, and impossible to stop eating. And let's talk about the mocktails absolutely amazing. Creative, refreshing, and beautifully presented. It's rare to find a place that puts this much thought into non-alcoholic drinks, and Tiliani nailed it. From the food to the atmosphere to the overall energy, this place is a solid five stars. Definitely somewhere I'd come back to for both a fun night out and a relaxed dinner with friends.

If everything is as good as what we ordered this time, I can't wait to try more! Firstly, the natural lighting in here is just fantastic, and I really like the layout - you have a bit more space than some of the other downtown restaurants, and it's fairly quiet. Nice cozy booth seating as well as chairs. The gated parking lot is also a huge plus downtown and service was absolutely excellent. We came on a Sunday to try their all day happy hour, and it did not disappoint. $2 oysters meant that we ordered 2 dozen, and while the east coast varieties tend to be our favorite, their west coast selection was also top notch. Just lovely, salty, briny fresh oysters with a great mignonette. We also both ordered dirty martinis, and they're perfect for $8. We also had the focaccia which comes with this amazing tomato pesto - it tasted like pizza concentrated into a sauce. Yum! And the focaccia is perfect - the kind of bread that makes you remember why bread is so good. Pillowy and soft inside, toasted crispy outside; an amazing app. For dinner, we had the squid ink and seafood pasta, the wild striped bass and the lamb. Everything was absolutely so delicious and perfectly cooked. They split the pasta for us, which was very nice, and I just can't get over the delicious unique flavor of that dish. Outstanding. This pasta is the kind of pasta you want to order when you go out. Lots of yummy seafood, perfectly seasoned al dente pasta, savory sauce. The bass was the most perfectly cooked piece of fish I've had in a long time - crispy skin, tender moist flesh, buttery sauce. And lastly, I was super impressed with the lamb - it was tender yet crispy on the edges, savory and satisfying. If a seafood restaurant is doing lamb this well, I've got to see what else they have to offer. Can't wait to try the tasting menu. Even hubby was impressed and had zero complaints about anything, and he's tough to please. What a gem of a restaurant.

My first impression: Noisy! Lots of hard surfaces. Difficult to hear the hostess, server and my wife. The tables were appropriately spaced for diners and servers to work with no bump & grind. We started by sharing a dozen oysters and the pear/walnuts salad. The oysters were a bit small-ish; but otherwise, excellent. Server took a drink order from my wife, but skipped me. Eh? I flagged down another server to order a Pino. It took a surprisingly long time to arrive. On the plus side, I was offered a taste to insure it was satisfactory - it was. The pear salad w/walnuts was excellent. The pears were sliced paper-thin. One of the joys of eating a properly ripened pear is the juicy explosion and thinly sliced pears defeat the juicy explosion. If the pears were fully ripe, perhaps cube them? Weirdly; the two sides (mushrooms, potatoes) were served before the entrees. The server noticed, seemed surprised and withdrew the sides, returning with our entrees (lamb shoulder, steak). Then the side returned. Both entrees were warm-ish and the sides were hot. The 14-day, dry-aged steak was ordered medium-rare and was seasoned and prepared as ordered. Again; warm-ish, not hot. I expected better beefy flavor for a dry-aged steak. One end was a bit chewy. Tenderness improved as I got to the other end of the steak. I ordered it with horseradish. I will admit to being a weirdo who loves spicy horseradish (and wasabi) that will clean the sinuses - this was "Ohio-spice'd" horseradish ... not creamy, but less spicy than Arby's Horsey sauce. The mushroom and the potato sides were served hot from the kitchen. Both were excellent, no complaints. The presentation of the steak needs improvement. It was a properly prepared, lonely lump of brown, served on a white plate with cracked ceramic glaze. The lamb shoulder was the better entree. For some reason, my wife was expecting Middle Eastern seasoning. The menu did not mention Middle Eastern seasoning and she did not ask, so that's on her, not the kitchen. I thought it was excellent. Gripe: After the entrees arrived, our server did not return to ask if the entrees were satisfactory. She did return later to ask if we wanted a second round of drinks. We did ... We were offered dessert and ordered, but never asked if we wanted coffee or an after dinner drink. Both desserts were excellent. Will we return? Probably ... not. With tip; dinner for two was $286. At this price point I expect better: Less noise, better beef and flawless service.
