I'm extremely disappointed with our experience. I booked a driver a month in advance after having a positive experience with this company two years ago. Chris Pittman confirmed that Linda would be our driver and said she was looking forward to it. At our confirmed pickup time, Linda didn't arrive, and we hadn't heard from her. I contacted Chris, called the company twice and left two voicemails, but received no response. After 20 minutes, with our tasting reservation at risk, we started driving ourselves. Linda called only after we had left. She said she had been at the front of the hotel and had tried to call us, but we had received no earlier call, and members of our group had been watching for her around the property. I emailed Chris again to explain that our driver was 30 minutes late and that we would be late to our tasting. Linda did call the winery, which I appreciated, but I never received a response from Chris about what happened. As a repeat customer who visits Napa frequently, I expected much better communication and customer service. I won't use this service again or recommend it. read more

What an incredible 2 days we had with Greg! Our sister had connections to him from her previous trip and she knew we had to work with him. We let him know a few of our preferences and then told him to have the reign of the plans. On our first day with him we had 3 tours scheduled, we ended up having some extra time and with his connections we were able to squeeze in another one! We didn't think our 2nd day could top it but holy hell the next 3 tours blew us out of the water. Every where we went, Greg knew our tour guides personally. Laura was our driver and we paid the additional $50 to have her plan our itinerary. I told her we wanted wineries that had beautiful views, decent wine, and not too expensive. She sent me an itinerary for approval and it was perfect! Also, my mother-in-law is diabetic and needed to eat halfway through the day, but none of the wineries served food or allowed picnicking. However, Laura handled that as well. She ordered food from a nearby restaurant and took us to an overlook to enjoy our meal between locations. I cannot begin to Thank Chris for an unforgettable first time trip to Napa Valley! We basically gave the wheel to Chris and he took over from there. He planned our days at some medium sized producers and some small intimate producers. I can tell you that without Chris's personal relationships with these Wineries we would not have had the same experience as we did. We did two days with a break in between. The first stop of our trip was so incredibly surreal, my wife commented that she thought she was the Bachelorette. This stop, "which I won't reveal" set the precedence for the rest of our visits. Unbelievable, picturesque views for days, unique history unlike anywhere else in Napa, a walk in the vineyard and grape tasting right from the vine. I am purposely not revealing any of Chris's secret spots as he truly has some gems up his sleeves and if you utilize his services you will know what I am talking about. As far as the cost of this service....if you like 50-60% less than the limo/black car services and like the flexibility of your schedule versus a buses schedule, then literally look no further. Rent your own car, the driver meets you at the hotel and drives you all around to wineries/ restaurants/ etc. We had Janette as our driver, she was super laid back and had great recommendations before and during our trip. It's not a cheap service, but much less expensive than the cost of drinking and driving. The service is priced per hour and you pay at the conclusion of the services. Janette drove us around for 2 days all over Napa. Before the trip she offered to help us plan our itinerary so the routes made sense. The drivers also make sure you're on time for your reservations. My mom and I went on a girls trip to Sonoma and I knew I wanted some say in what wineries we went to vs. a group tour with already chosen wineries. After seeking out someone to drive our rental, I came across My Napa Valley Driver and I am so thankful for having Greg as our driver! While other companies charge you a "concierge" fee to recommend and set up wineries for you, Greg did this for no additional cost. Not being from the region or knowing the wineries and distance between, it was so helpful to have someone with experience set up our day. I had two most-visit spots, and the third was not open that day so Greg suggested two other options. One of his suggestions (Gary Farrell) was my favorite of the day for the view and the cheese paring! Greg met us at our hotel in the morning and we were off to enjoy the wine and the views for the day. He was very knowledgeable about the area, answered a lot of questions and gave us some tips for spotting different kinds of vines along the way. While we were tasting he would come check to make sure how we were doing, and even remained calm and politely moved us along when we were enjoying the views a bit too long before our last tastings. He did bring along some snacks and such in a cooler, but we brought our own treats. I thought it was a nice surprise though! Five stars. We had an incredible day with Barry, our driver at a VERY reasonable rate. Cost: $39/5 hours, so $195 plus tip. During the winter they ask for longer booking periods since it's slower. Summertime you can book for 3 hours, though I don't think you could really experience wine-tasting in that amount of time. Recommend: starting early, by 9:30/10am so you can visit wineries before they are jam packed in the afternoon, and enjoy lunch. This sets you up to end just around dinner and your driver will happily oblige a final drop-off from where you can just Uber. (so long as you entrust your hotel with the key). Barry and his family are semi-retired in the Sonoma area, he was a consummate professional and totally easy going. No sense of hustle, it felt perfectly natural and fun, riding in the back of our SUV. Highlights: -Booking was easy, sent an email-got same day response from Bev, then text from our driver, Barry to discuss itinerary the day before we headed up. Barry picked us up from our hotel and away we went! -they take your car so you can bring all your supplies, etc. and not get overcharged for a questionably clean limo/uber, etc. -no DUI -affordable rates -door to door service, Barry pulled up each and every time, right on time -custom wine tours and recommendations. See notes below. -was great for the rain so we didn't have to shlep out to our car, Barry even ran into Mumm's to bring our umbrellas after it really started coming down in the morning -self-sufficient, Barry was familiar with the wineries so in the summer months he strolls around or reads a book, brings his own lunch, food, etc. so you don't have to worry about the invite while you sip wine, care free. Due the rain, he primarily stayed in our car and listened to audiobooks. -totally friendly, but also totally fine being a "driver" and not talking if that's your preference -provided waters for us as well, for post-tasting hydration -$1 million commercial coverage to ensure you and the vehicle are covered, which was a concern since we have a new car. Barry drove perfectly and we felt VERY safe. I'm the type that usually gets anxious when anyone else is driving...especially in the rain, but was totally relaxed with his driving. Custom wine tours and recommendations: Barry knew all the right spots for lunch, tasting, etc. based on our preferences. We wanted casual lunch and a mix of sparkling and Pinots/Cabernets AND it was raining so he based our agenda off of that. He called ahead and made us a reservation at Mumm's with a great tablet overlooking the vineyard. We then went to Robert Zinskey for the small bites, cave and private reserve tastings for Pinot, then to Stag's Leap for their DELICIOUS cabs (Fay's was the winner) and finally to V. Sattui for the fun ambiance and groceries. Flexibility: Barry was so accommodating, we had to run an errand after lunch in Yountville and also ended up taking longer at Stag's Leap than we had originally intended. His priority was to get us where we wanted to go and ensure we were having a great time. After tasting, we wanted to do dinner at Mustard's but it was already pretty late so he dropped us off and left our hotel key with the proprietor. We Ubered home after a leisurely dinner for $9, which was more cost-effective. Instead of charging by the hour for the last stop, he was willing to go above and beyond and we just went along with our day. While touring around Napa a couple weeks ago, we weren't in need of a driver, but we were in need of a photographer. We stopped at a perfect photo spot, but it was just the husband and me. My wife and I had one day and night to spend in Sonoma for our 21st anniversary and so we had to get everything right. We hired MyNapaValleyDriver to pick us up as we arrived at the Sonoma Mission Inn in the morning, and in a matter of minutes our Driver Nick had us off for an afternoon of wine tasting and lunch. The private tour in our car took the stress off, and Nick was waiting to leave when we were ready. We headed straight to Scribe, on the side of the slope overlooking the valley. Nick had a private tasting with an excellent personal guide all set up. We sat in the shade of an oak tree with panoramic views while she poured us a variety of wines and told us the colorful history of the property. After tasting we toured the old manor house Nick and then headed off to lunch on the grounds of the Landmark winery - our custom "PickNick". This included lunch on a picnic table made up with place settings and flowers and music playing in the background. Although Nick took care of everything, he also was sure to fade into the background and let the day be one about us. After lunch Nick had set up an amazing tour of Repris winery, another winery with a unique history but this time the experience included a cave tour, a gator ride to the top of Moon Mountain (and panoramic views) and a relaxed tasting where we were lucky enough to meet one of the founders. A short leisurely drive down the mountain and we were back in time for dinner. A wonderful afternoon with not a minute wasted, no crowds, great service, excellent wines at interesting wineries, and a romantic, peaceful time together. That is why it gets 5 stars. read more
