Rod was fantastic to work with to set our day up. Our driver was Gabby and she was everything we hoped for. She was very knowledgeable and made the day a lot of fun and very memorable. Gabby knows so much history about Napa and Sonoma and was very willing to share all of her knowledge with us. She also had a great lunch suggestion which we really enjoyed. She drove our rental car. Napa Driver Tours has all the insurance and certifications needed to do this safely and legally. This includes commercial auto insurance and also a TCP# (Transportation Charter Party issued by the CA PUC). Many other drivers said that they don't need these. They are wrong. Accidents can happen and we wanted to protect ourselves by using a reputable company that doesn't take shortcuts. We are still raving about our trip and about Gabby. You might be thinking...there's got to be a catch? But, Rod is a real person -- he picked us promptly-- and yes he is indeed affordable. We stumbled across Rod's company doing a Google search and the detailed information he provided about driving a rental car caught our eye. I emailed him and got more details and we felt comfortable having him drive our rental, especially if something happened (he has the correct insurance for this). Our party of 6 visited 4 wineries (not recommended) in one day and Rod was our driver. I secured all the reservations, but asked for his input regarding timing. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Ryan set up the most incredible day for us. We asked him to take us off the beaten path to some small wineries we may not have heard of. To say he exceeded our expectations is an understatement. We traveled North through Calistoga to Amici to begin our day. Private showing on the beautiful porch of the residence on property. Our host Rachel was so gracious and knowledgeable. Then Ryan joined us for a lovely lunch in Calistoga, before we proceed to one of the best experiences we have ever shared... Lerner Project private tasting in the owners home. We arrived by private road through the redwoods and vineyards. We were greeted by some beautiful deer in the woods behind the driveway. Then Patrick gave us a tour of the property, shared the owners story and history of the winery, before taking us out to see the unbelievable views. He followed this with a tasting of the amazing wines, which he paired with incredible curated cheeses- which was guided by a personalized menu. Finally we proceed to St Helena where Peter gave us a great tour of YoungInglewood property, including the vines and production room. This was followed by another great private tasting. read more

It was our first trip out to Napa, so we were a bit new to the process of the driver services out there. When we return, we will not hesitate to reach out to Napa Driver Tours again! Rod was an excellent guide to some smaller places and we ended up seeing some really nice spots that we would not have seen otherwise on the larger, more expensive tours that hit the big tourist-laden spots. Stoked to find this service while planning our most recent napa trip! We booked Steve for Saturday afternoon and it was amazing. Last year we did the shuttle service and were disappointed with being forced into certain wineries and a time schedule. Steve showed up on time, drove our car and brought us all over all day long. He made suggestions when we asked but also allowed us to do as we pleased. Our last stop was a winery in Yountville and we decided we wanted to stay there until our evening dinner reservation so Steve was awesome enough to drive our car back to the hotel and leave the keys with the front desk. we were planning a trip to Napa with another couple and a friend who had just been there recommended Napa Driver Tours. We had asked the hotel about drivers and they had made a recommendation for a company that takes you around in their car. I checked them out and they were much more expensive than Napa Driver Tours. We had a car anyway so why not use it. They were great to work with. The reservation process was easy and we communicated via email to work out an itinerary that made sense. The two drivers we had were really nice young men who were very knowledgeable and good drivers. Even when the other couple wanted to go back to the hotel and we wanted to go to another winery it was no problem they dropped us off at a winery, took our friends back to the hotel and came back to pick us up. Just returned from a great 2 day trip to Napa...our first. We were VERY pleased with Rod. First off it just makes sense to have a driver drive your own rental car vs. paying for a car while yours sits in the hotel lot all day. This creates a value, with more available to spend on wine, dinners, etc. We made our rez just 3 days beforehand and all online. Rod arrived promptly at the agreed-upon time (10am) and I received a text at EXACTLY 10:00 that he was waiting in the hotel lobby. We departed immediately.
