The staff, the ones who do all the on-the-floor tasks are not so charming, friendly or helpful. It's so painfully obvious that their main/only goal is to upsell, upsell, upsell. They don't really care if the frames they're choosing for you is actually suitable for your face. They just want to make sure you fall in love with frames that are $500+ I got flattered into buying a pair beautiful plastic YSL frames, but being Asian with very little nose bridge, these plastic frames (not very adjustable) are super annoying as they constantly slip off my nose. Seems like advice your "optometrist" office would give you, if they actually cared about you. Well, they did a good job selling me since I walked out of there dropping $1500 for two progressive glasses! Oh, and that's after insurance. Whatever that means because the two "saleswomen" and the guy who also does the "fitting" are clueless and can't explain your benefits to save their lives. Shame on me for falling prey to their inauthentic "help" fitting me for frames. Mind you, when I was getting fit/in shopping mode, they were sweet as pie but when I went back in to ask for an adjustment so my $1000 glasses could fit me better, they could give zero sh!ts. So transparent. All I can advise is buyer beware and stand firm on your budget. I don't think they have frames for under $400. I wish I can give more stars because it is quite convenient to get an appt.

I could hardly see my computer and was getting headaches from straining my eyes with the terrible glasses they made. I had to go somewhere else to get another pair and pay again. I had LASIK performed 17 years ago and he confirmed my eyes remain healthy! No signs of diabetes, glaucoma, issues with eye pressure. At my last appt several years ago, that dr pushed for prescription lenses that I did not need. It was refreshing to have met someone who was honest and direct with me. The only feedback I have was a small hiccup with the front desk who charged me $40 instead of a $10 copay which was immediately resolved. I also noticed that he serves in the Air National Guard. She confirms it is, and proceeds to tell me how my eyes are unable to focus and how unhealthy and abnormal my eye focus ability is before preying on me to try and get special readers and adjusting my prescription to fit that bill. I had a truly terrible experience at Dr. Lucas' optometry office, and I would strongly advise…read moreanyone to avoid this place if you value your eyes, time, and money. From the beginning, the service was unprofessional in every aspect. Dr. Lucas prescribed glasses that were much too strong for my eyes. I immediately experienced dizziness, headaches, and eye strain, and I could not read properly. When I returned for a second exam, he gave me another prescription, but again it was too strong. Ten days later, when I got the new glasses, I still could not see comfortably--whether on my phone, laptop, or reading. On the third visit, instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake, Dr. Lucas became dismissive and rude. He even asked me what number I wanted for my prescription. I told him that if I could prescribe my own glasses, I wouldn't need to see him. Rather than listening to my concerns, he gave me long, unnecessary explanations about the prescription numbers, which only made things worse. All I wanted was the right lenses to be able to read comfortably. The front desk staff was equally rude and unhelpful. Michelle, in particular, acted as if my concerns were personal attacks. Making appointments and picking up glasses was a nightmare. In total, I had to go there six times for one pair of glasses. Eventually, I gave up and told Dr. Lucas the prescription I wanted myself--and that finally worked better than what he gave me. To put it in perspective: for my right eye, he first prescribed +2.50, but when I asked for +1.75 instead, I could see clearly. That says a lot about the accuracy of his exams. On top of that, because they changed my lenses three times using heat, my own frame (which I had to provide, since my insurance wouldn't cover another one) was damaged. The coating around the lens started peeling just days after I picked them up. One lens even had a fingerprint smudge permanently embedded. When I called about it, Dan at the front desk was rude and dismissive, telling me they couldn't do anything and that I should call my insurance instead. I originally chose this office because of the high reviews on Google and Yelp, but after my experience, I can't understand how those reviews are genuine. Either people don't realize the harm, or the reviews are not authentic. Bottom line: This office is unprofessional, careless, and disrespectful. They wasted my time, damaged my frame, and put my eye health at risk. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid Dr. Lucas' office.
