Today was my first eye exam in nearly 8 years at the Acuity Eye Group. Dr Goldstone was compassionate, patient and efficient. He took the time to answer my many questions and ensured I walked away from the appointment feeling knowledgeable about the tests performed, with clear interpretation of my vision health. I had LASIK performed 17 years ago and he confirmed my eyes remain healthy! No signs of diabetes, glaucoma, issues with eye pressure. At my last appt several years ago, that dr pushed for prescription lenses that I did not need. It was refreshing to have met someone who was honest and direct with me. The only feedback I have was a small hiccup with the front desk who charged me $40 instead of a $10 copay which was immediately resolved. I also noticed that he serves in the Air National Guard. I've only seen Dr. Goldstone twice. First time was for my yearly eye exam. He was great. Quick appointment. No waiting. In and out. Was super easy!! The second time I saw him was just Monday morning. I scratched my eye Sunday afternoon. Was in pain Monday morning when I woke up. So I called around 8am knowing that the office didn't open till 10am. Dr. Goldstone just happen to be in the office early at 9:30 and called me right away and had me come in immediately. I had a great experience here! Always used to go to Kaiser, and now that I have new insurance, needed to find a different optometrist. Dr. Goldstone had great yelp reviews, so I decided to try him. Made an appointment to get a new prescription for contacts and glasses, and was very satisfied with how he checked everything, his attention to detail and customer service. Ended up ordering my contacts through him and didn't have to wait very long. I sent my husband to him as well and he was very happy also. I have been his patient for over 12 years and I could honestly say that he's extremely thorough and keeps up to date on all the latest research and new products when it comes to the latest stylish glasses or contact lenses. He will genuinely take his time to educate you about preventative care, lights, UV rays, sun damage etc. And more importantly his focus is on what's really needed for his patients whether it's specific frames, lenses or contacts, rather on profit and money like most other optometrists I been to. I'm amazed by all these great reviews. I have to wonder if they went to the same guy that I saw. On my first visit about 6-7 years ago, I told Goldstone I liked to support small, independent businesses. Not even a thank you at that or any subsequent visit. Horrible chair side manner on all my visits but I thought he was reasonably competent so I kept going back. His file clerk is rude & nasty 100% of the time whether on the phone or in person but Goldstone does nothing about her. When I finally tired of her abusive attitude, I cancelled my upcoming appointment and left a really horrible review here. Goldstone answered and said to me he had never heard any complaints about his file clerk before. I even told him I felt guilty about my review and in spite of every single word of it being true, I offered to take it down. I took it down but now sure wish I left it up. He of course was excited about this but again, couldn't even muster up a Thank You. The real pisser is that he lied to me since I know that on my visit a year earlier, I mentioned to Goldstone that his file clerk was rude & nasty. Guess he has a short memory. As I said before, I did think he was reasonably competent so I continued going to him for lenses. Boy was I ever wrong. Just picked up my new lenses from my new Optometrist and my vision is amazing!!! Even on his best day, Goldstone only got me marginal vision. Thought I might be losing my eyesight permanently due to the vision being so horrible with the new lenses from Goldstone. So, if you like being abused by a nasty file clerk and don't want good vision, by all means go see Goldstone. There are much, much better practitioners out there less than a half mile away. Oh and if you call to talk to Goldstone, don't expect a return call because it won't happen. I called his store to discuss his refusal to cooperate with my new eye Doctor, and his nasty file clerk told me he would call me back. Good thing I didn't hold my breath waiting for the call. I would give him zero or negative stars if I could. P.S. As soon as I posted this review, I saw Goldstone's response to my review last year. I thought it had disappeared along with my review. If you want to get bs'd and ripped off go next door to Optics of Serge. I left a message on his yelp review. Just waiting to see how long it takes for him to delete it. How funny it is that his place is just 5 stars with no complaints. Dr. Goldstone's place isn't what that place is at all. It's the complete opposite. Every frame is true from the retailer and Dr.Goldstone will check your eyes for the right prescription that fits you. He's honest and he obviously knows what he is talking about. read more

Now I know getting your eyes checked is not top on everyone's list....but hey it's totally necessary so why not go someplace that is easy and thorough and not a rip off? Right here in the Valley I found the perfect doctor and vision shop! First, there is parking in the back or the street. BUT this is right across from the Whole Foods and I parked in their garage and walked over. Either way it's easily accessible. Next, you really get personal one on one care. The Dr. is totally professional and knows his stuff. I asked so many stupid questions and he answered every one, making sure I truly understood my eyes and what was going on. I thought my sight had gotten worse, when in reality they had improved with a recent pregnancy. Go hormones! Anyhow he knew exactly what to do. I needed new glasses and contacts.....let me tell you that his prices are ON POINT. Why wait for online when they were cheaper with him? His selection may seem small, but to me all the BS glasses were taken out which is smart. His selection is of the best sellers and top trends, plus a few of the basics. Perfect assortment! AND he keeps contacts in stock, so I can pop in whenever I need more and get them same day. Woohoo! If you are looking for a serious but quick and painless eye checkup, this is your place. Took my 12 yo for a check up. What kid wants to go get his eyes examined when he could be home playing Fortnite, right? Well, this one AFTER our first visit with Dr. Goldstone. Although we were an hour late and we were the last patient (so the doctor ended up waiting for us,) Dr. G was still super nice. He was friendly and knowledgeable, assured me my kid's eyes were not going to fall out from too much Fortnite, gave us some sound eye health advice, and off we went. I'll never go to Lenscrafters again with the long waits and hit-or-miss staff (some are great while others aren't). If you want personal care, go to Dr. Goldstone. I had been going to an optometrist at Costco for many years, and my contact prescription allowed me to see distance, but obliterated my ability to see anything close up. Simple things like reading numbers on my cellphone, or reading text messages became a real problem and in order to read, I had to take my contacts out. I was just about ready to give up on contacts altogether when I decided to change optometrists. My first visit with Dr. Goldstone was life-altering, as he changed my contact prescription dramatically and switched me to mono-vision. With just one contact intact, I was able to see distances and read perfectly! And having to wear just one contact substantially reduced the cost of my eye-care expenses, which was an added bonus. I broke my glasses and my backup pair had an old prescription so I stopped by Optics By Serge who is the BEST and he said go next door to Dr Goldstone for an exam. I walked in and had a complete exam in less than 30 minutes with no waiting using my insurance and bought a pair of progressive lenses in a frameless frame and will get my contacts later. Dr Goldstone explained everything he was doing during the exam, answered all my questions (which were numerous) and was very courteous, informative and professional. No long wait at the ophthalmologist or hassle with my insurance or attitude. I have not received my glasses yet but am using the contact lenses he gave me to evaluate and will update my review. For now, after having been to five other eyecare professionals over the years, I highly recommend Dr Goldstone for any eye exam and his great 'bedside manner'. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Goldstone for any eye care. This was my first time seeing Dr. Goldstone. I had a prescription from my previous doctor, but when I wore the glasses the prescription was off. Thank goodness that Dr. Goldstone found the issue and corrected the prescription I am able to see so much better. I did arrive 30 mins late, (I called to let the office know, and they were very nice and said drive safe and we'll see you when you get here) usually places get annoyed when patients arrive. I CALLED DR GOLDSTONE YESTERDAY, TO ADVISE THAT MY RIGHT EYE FOR MY CONTACT WAS BLURRY, SINCE I HAD A ANNUAL CHECKUP WITH Him the latter part of July! He told me that he can see me that this that day but it will cost me $75 so I said why just saw you two months ago and the last time I came to you, last year you just told me to calm down and try a different contact! As I do not have $75 when I just saw you two months ago so he said the cheapest I could do was 50 so I said wow OK I read you loud and clear you're not interested in me you're interested in the Money! I have great reading glasses, contacts, and special glasses for watching movies or other greater distances that I wear over my contacts. Thanks for "clearing up" my world! I came to this place on Saturday to see if I can get some glasses quick. I forgot the guy that help me. I think it was Dr.Goldstone. I gave him my paper from Kaiser and then he showed me the glasses. After that he gave me a good price which is not bad if your insurance doesn't cover glasses and told me my glasses will be here Tuesday. My wife and I went to Dr Goldstone this morning for a routine eye exam and new glasses. I'm relatively new to eye exams and glasses where my wife had been wearing them her whole life. When I told Dr. Goldstone my problems and troubles, he new exactly what I meant and needed. He was very patient and knowledgeable when it came to my novice understanding regarding eye wear. He joked with is and was real funny and enjoyable. After both or eye exams, he helped me with lenses and frames and walked the show room with us. He then took his time explaining how the insurance worked and what we pay for. He even gave us demonstrations with his own personal glasses. My family and I have been going to Dr. Goldstone for YEARS! Starting way back when he was practicing at the now close 4EYES in Tarzana. Was very happy when he opened his own practice at his current Ventura Blvd location prob 8 years ago. My husband and 3 daughters all visit him regularly and we have always gotten excellent service. We all wear glasses and contacts and he gives us wonderful, attentive service. He's very focused on helping us understand all our options. He is very patient and has time for all our questions. Appointments never feel rushed. Dr. Goldstone sends us home with contacts to try and does not charge us for them until we are happy with them. He even went out of his way to send contacts to my daughter out of state when she ran out of them. Today I had an emergency (sudden enormous floater appeared in my right eye) and he worked me into his very busy schedule just a couple of hours after I called.
