Saw that there were two Asian markets in Chico and decided to come to this here to 1) check it out because my boyfriend and I just moved here 2) closer to home 3) wants to see what they had since we normally go to the other market on Nord Ave (further from us). First impression- the outside is definitely like the picture on Yelp. It's green and looks like a "car" garage, but it's a storefront - not really your typical store / building front.. when we parked the car, we saw an older lady walk out with two containers of Tea soo - we knew they were open. When you walk in, it's kind of tight. Veggies to the left.. shelves of : beef paste, hoisin, dried foods etc. to the right and in front of you. Drinks fridge along the right side of the wall and further to the right, on the back of the wall was the freezer section. It's a tight squeeze if there is more than one person in the aisle. LOTS of mixed vegetables. A good variety! There is also a small section towards the back of the store with noodles, cooking pots, pans, bowls etc. The cashier and person working the store was very nice, attentive, and helpful. They also have cooked food next to the cashier, which looked soo good.. The ONE thing that got me, they have FRESH FAT NOODLES! Omg - my family and I will normally travel from live oak to Sacramento for that, but to know that they have it here in Chico - game changer... anddd they get fresh deliveries every Sunday.! Will definitely be coming here to grab some when the family wants noodle days (Kasoy ) Overall- a really good little Asian market. Wow, what a find and they are so helpful! Great selection of Asian goods. Some items are impossible to find otherwise. I like to buy fresh gai lan, whole taro, Thai peppers, fresh noodles, whole birds with the head, whole fish, Shaoxing Wine, spicy canton, some snacks. We drive over 40 minutes to get here but it's certainly worth it. I so very appreciative to have this grocery option without having to drive to Sacramento. I highly recommend to anyone! read more

This place has a decent selection, but they need to check for expired products more consistently. I bought some ube bread a couple days ago and literally threw it away that same day when I got home because there was hairy mold. There's no point in having "fresh baked" stuff if your customers can't trust that it's fresh. read more

I love this place. It offers me peace just being able to be near all of the wonderful products they provide for this town. Things I could only find in Chinatown Sf . I'm easily able to Procure really awesome produce, teas, mochi, taro products, fresh herbs. Sweet jackfruit. And Thai young coconuts!!! A total hidden oasis. The guy at the front is so nice and helpful. Doesn't breathe down your neck. Knows so much about all the different products. Can shave fresh green mango for you if u call in advance. Love love love this store. Let me start off by saying we are Hispanic but loveeeee Asian food. The staff is friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. We are still learning to cook new Asian recipes, and every one we need something we can be sure they have it. We never feel unwelcome or like outsiders. Went there today. Parking is confusing, but the had Taiwanese fermented soybeans in a jar, as we ll as dried bean curd. I was so stoked to learn about this Asian market in Chico. Just when I had given up and thought I would have to make a trip to Sacramento for some Asian goodies, a friend shared this little gem with me. Apparently they've been around for many years?!?!? Who knew??? Anyhow, you should definitely go check it out. Their selection isn't huge, but it does the trick in a pinch. On my first visit, I was fresh off of a 10-day visit to Taiwan and craving some serious Asian veggies. As soon as I walked in, the delicious aroma blasted my sniffer with so much pleasure!!! The store is a little hard to find as well as the front door. I knew I was there when I saw the family playing in the parking lot with the cute baby. They all greeted me when we were at the door. when I went inside I was blown away with the amount of products on the shelves. The nice guy behind the register helped be find the tea that I was looking for. We had a pleasant little exchange and I was done. This will be my new supply store. I have been looking for a decent Asian market in Chico since I moved here two years ago. I must say I had been having a disappointing experience...until yesterday. This market had almost everything I regularly buy and for reasonable prices. It is a small, family run business with a good selection of items, not an extensive selection but enough to keep me out of Sacramento for much longer periods of time. The son was working the counter (native English speaker) and was very friendly and helpful. His mom was making something and I wish I had asked what it was. There are several fresh produce and meat items. There is also a limited amount of refrigerated and frozen items. For example, I found square but not round wonton wrappers. The only way I knew this store existed was the small sign on Park Ave. saying "MY Oriental Market". This doesn't agree with the name on Yelp but the address does. There were a fair amount of customers coming and going so people know about it. And now I do too. read more

Coming from the Bay area where you can find an Asian market just about anywhere, I admit that I was skeptical when I found this place. Especially compared to the other markets I've been to. However, I was quite surprised and pleased. Very diverse selection of everything you can think of. I was able to buy noodles to make pancit one night and japchae the following week. They also had items that I hadn't seen since I was a little kid when my mom would cook. Prices are reasonable. Location is convenient (since I live in town) and I do not have to drive all the way to Sacramento to get the ingredients I need. Love this store. read more

Tonight I went to three stores trying to find the ingredient I needed and could not find it. The Asian market I usually go to on Nord was already closed. I saw on Google maps that this one was open until 7pm, so I decided to hurry over as it was 6:30pm. When I got there the sign on the door said they were closed at 6pm. I was so sad that I wasn't going to be able to make my recipe. I decided to knock on the door in case someone miiiiiiight answer. A very nice gentleman answered, allowed me to come in and he showed me right to the ingredient! He let me purchase it even though they were already closed! So happy to have found this little gem! I can finally get all my Filipino ingredients without having to travel all the way back home to the Bay or to Sacramento. They have a variety of Asian vegetables and a small but good selection of fish and seafood. They sell plenty of Hmong, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino, and Japanese ingredients.
