Personally, I think that a DJ is one of the toughest vendors to decide on for a wedding. For catering, you can taste the food, and for the florist, photographer, etc. you can easily see past work. With music, it is was a bit more difficult for us to know which direction to take. After our initial phone call consultation with DJ Vega, we knew he would be a great fit. He was professional and thorough, yet had the perfect balance of being laid back and accommodating. He sent us a detailed spreadsheet to fill out before with our song and genre preferences, which was a huge help! On the actual wedding day, he worked closely with our day-of-coordinator to keep us on track and things running smoothly. He was able to read the crowd well and played songs that fit our group well. Not only he was talented and came highly recommended, he was prompt in all his response, professional and highly knowledgeable of music that we are looking to match the ambiance we want to create for our special day. We only met with him once prior to the day, and gave him a list of our playlists. We also have a weird playlist- from oldies Chinese song from our parents era, to some from our era such as music from Crazy Rich Asian, from Backstreet Boys to Frank Sinatra to Bruno Mars. But, he knew exactly the vibe we were going for because he even played music that wasn't on the list and his music got people swaying and jumping! We did spent a little more than what we wanted for a DJ but DJ Rocryte was worth every investment! Granted that we have a traditional and conservative crowd and have low expectations, we have never seen so many uncles and aunties on their feet. Writing a review here in hopes that i'll get some sort of contact info from someone or resolve. Didn't have it in the budget to pay 2 DJ's.

I've had to do this with two people already and I don't take it lightly. (you know who you are) In other words, if you make it difficult for me to find work and make a living like a normal human being, this affects my ability to pay you back!" He helped us with our floor plan and he always kept us informed on what was going to happen next. It felt like the wedding was a production. A Grammy winning production at that. There was a decibel limit at the wedding location and Matthew handled that limitation perfectly. He also did not hesitate to move his heavy equipment between floors so that the reception audio was handled just as professionally. He even willing stayed past the contracted hour without hesitation or complaining. I'm sure that he is a remarkable DJ; the only reason we did not have him "spinning records" is the decibel limitation. I would contract for his services again in a heartbeat; I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge of audio setup and his professionalism.
