My sister booked this room for the night as we were attending a concert at Kauffman Stadium-Post Malone. The hotel is not too far off the interstate which is really good access to restaurants shopping and gas station. I was pleasantly surprised how nice My Place was, it was freezing cold(great AC!) in the room. It had a fridge, stove, microwave and coffee maker. The beds were so nice and comfortable. It also had a good size restroom and nice shower. We liked this place a lot and was better than a casino we stayed at for a different concert a few weeks prior. My place also locks the lobby after 11pm, you need your room key/card to get in after hours which is nice and helps to make you feel secure. I jokingly told the employee working that night that we missed curfew! He politely laughed!! lol I won't forget to mention that the staff was great when we checked in, came back from concert and when we checked out. read more

I had a great experience at this hotel. I was skeptical at first given the area and the ratings online, but this was a very clean and well kept hotel. The rooms were very nice (VERY comfortable beds and soft towels) and had amenities like an ice maker and sink with dish soap to wash dishes, as well as a stove . The staff I interacted with were also very kind. I was doing a cross-country move passing through Kansas City and my car broke down. Jodie at the front desk was extremely kind and understanding and even allowed me an extension to stay in my room to ensure my car was okay to drive. She also answered all of my questions regarding surveillance and security for the hotel since my car was packed with things. Other than great customer service, this hotel is also very close to a lot of restaurants and provides shade for wherever you park your car in the lot. read more

The hotel appears to be new, newish carpet, appliances and elevators. Smells new and clean, my room was very clean, In room ice maker in the full sized fridge, really appreciate no trips to the ice maker down the hall that is always broken. The bed is nice and soft, a stove if I wanted to fry and egg and a full sized microwave for popcorn. This is my new go spot for games. read more

Had never heard of this chain but am glad we found it. This location was pet friendly and had a reasonable pet fee. One hotel in Raytown had a $50 fee per day. Not happening. The room was clean with a full size fridge and stove top. Very nice room layout. It is close to several restaurants and the highway. However, we did not hear road noise. read more

I had a BRIDE OUTSIDE scheduled to get ready in this hotel for her wedding and they wouldn't let us in! This location took us in at the beginning of COVID 19 spread.. and helped us out! We drove all day from WV to here, and they let our dog stay which was well over the weight limit. They worked with us really well.. the room was nice! The location is nice and quiet, and the staff was friendly. There was a little kitchen and such in the room which was cool, but we didn't need it so we didn't use it. All in all, it's a nice little hotel! read more

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last year. I reviewed it the first time as an amazing place to stay and gave it five starts but this time it has obviously changed. There is an attention to detail that is now lacking in this hotel. Here are just a few of the examples. I stayed for six nights and seven days. I did not see a maid once during that stay although I requested maid service twice. The bathroom door in my room was off the top hinge. I mentioned this on my first day and was told it would be fixed. Never happened. My keycard stopped working seven times during my stay. Although I mentioned this every time it failed they could not seem to fix this issue. One of the best features of this hotel is there is a laundry facility a guest can use. They have laundry soap they sell but during my entire stay they could not figure out how to refill that soap. Although I plan to give them one more chance I do hope they start to pay attention to details. read more

I loved love this place! I am traveling from Florida to Colorado with four cats and needed a pet friendly not disgusting hotel! And I called and they only charged $10 for all four pets. The room was super clean. It is equipped with all your basics and more. It had shampoo, soap, conditioner and dish detergent. It also had a stove and a full fridge and sink. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. I saw they are building more and I would love to stay in more of this if I stay with my pets. Parking is ample, since we had a 16 footer and a car being pulled we parked against the wall and there was no issues. The front desk lady Shayna was very nice! read more

New and clean, plenty of free parking, reasonably priced (I booked on hotels.com). I arrived approximately 5:40pm, almost dusk but still plenty of daylight. I mention because the front entrance was locked and when I went to pick up phone to ask for help another guest saw me and summoned the clerk. She said "that door has to be locked after dark for security". It has a key card scanner but she said "you can't use your key to enter, must come through side doors". Fair enough but not super welcoming. Next came actual check-in. I provided my credit card and DL (which carries an expiration exemption for military). She still asked for a current DL. It is current and I provided appropriate exemption documentation. I didn't have the warm welcome other guests allude to. No continental breakfast, not a big deal for me, coffee is available in lobby. Weird thing for extended stay-type hotel...the room has stovetop, full size fridge, coffee pot, microwave and sink along with lots of drawers and cabinet storage. The odd part is there are no utensils, dishes, etc to use. Must be purchased in the store in lobby. Not a huge deal for me but I mention for anyone planning to stay longer term. Plan to either purchase or supply your own utensils and dishes. This wasn't clear on the site. Having stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott and other suites/kitchen type hotels I'd have never thought to bring my own items. I won't stay in a My Place again because I feel there are better values and customer service at other chains. Not a bad place but not a place I'll recommend. read more

When Residence Inn cancelled my reservation, they sent us to My Place. I was angry after a long drive and being cancelled. The guy checking is in was very friendly. The room was clean and nice. Everything was good til 2:30 am when a child kept calling for his dad. Very noisy for an hour. I didn't want to wake up my kids by calling the front or leaving to go down there, but I didn't get to sleep. So, while the place was nice and clean, the walls were thin. read more

Stumbled upon this place after VERY long day of traveling with kids. I am so thankful I did! Immediately greeted by a blast of icy cold AC and the BEST front desk agent I have ever meet. Jackie took such good care of my family, I was almost in tears because you honestly don't get service like that anymore. We felt so welcome! We have a week long trip ahead, and I will be staying at My Place Hotels only because we had such a great stay here. This hotel was a very nice place to stop after several hours of driving. The room was ready and very clean. It looks like they have recently undergone a renovation as well. The rooms are good sized and perfect if you are staying for a night, or staying a few weeks. This is right off of I-70 just east of Kansas City. However, since our interest was an overnight stay, there were a couple negatives: no cooking utensils or dishes provided with the kitchenette and the "all you can buy" microwave breakfast, which was mediocre at best. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I stayed here for 30 days, in that time the staff double charged my room on at least 4 different occasions, they gossiped about my neighbors including payment information, the manager is inexperienced and asked me to go live somewhere else when I pointed out errors in billing, my former neighbor showed me he was charged for his room again after moving out a week prior and they last straw was how they with held my mail for over 10 days knowing I was to check out after receiving it. What initially was a great stay for my mother turned into an unfortunate incident involving extremely poor customer service and rudeness from the hotel's management. My mother stayed at the hotel during a Covid outbreak and was very satisfied with her accommodations; the staff was extremely kind to her, the hotel was clean and fresh, and she enjoyed her stay. After extending her initial stay by two days, she was told by the staff that they would adjust her billing for a Friday checkout, only to find that the charge was reapplied, later, without her knowledge. I spoke with the hotel manager who informed me that her employee erroneously promised this fee adjustment and if my mother "would have just asked, us," they could have made the "proper" adjustment. I kindly explained that it was the duty of the staff to understand their billing procedures and not the responsibility of my mother to know MyPlace's accounting process and kindly asked for an appeal. The manager refused, saying that it was due to their corporate "third party" contract and again, rudely intimated that it was my mother's responsibility to understand MyPlace's billing process. This surprise, unauthorized billing and the indifference of MyPlace's management turned a really positive experience into an extremely negative one. I would not recommend this place of lodging for their dubious, hidden, and murky billing promises and management's lack of customer service. There are many other highly-rated, large, well-known corporate hotel extended stay options in this area to choose from that provide excellent customer service and proper guest treatment; spend your money elsewhere, where it is appreciated. read more

I wish I didn't have to give a "Star" at all. I just had the worst experience ever with this place and their staff. I booked a room a week in advance, provided all of my information and was looking for a confirmation email that was NEVER sent to me. On the day that I was to check in I called to make sure everything was OK and asked for it to be sent again. The GM took my email info and said he'd send it, well I never got that one either. I get there to check in and was turned away with NO EXPLANATION other than because I am an Independence resident that I couldn't stay there. The GM and other staff member then walked away from me and left me standing at the front desk looking stupid. I kept asking why couldn't someone had told me that a week ago? Still no complete answer and basically their attitude was like you have to leave, good luck finding somewhere else to stay. I've actually stayed there a few times before and really liked them but after this experience I will NEVER look their way or recommended this place to ANYONE. The GM was very rude. My husband called a few hours later and it was THEN explained to him by "Sarah" that due to a lot of Independence residents destroying their rooms they don't I guess "allow" ANY Independence residents to book rooms there anymore. Makes no sense to me but if THAT was explained to me when I tried to check in then I might not have been as upset. Thankfully the DRURY INN across the street was able to get me a room, THEY were very pleasant and helpful and I had a great stay there. To the STAFF AT MY PLACE HOTEL, your customer service SUCKS. Not all Independence residents are bad people. As a matter of fact I'd have left the room looking so spotless you would've thought no one was even in there. They didn't know What kind of situation I was in, I know this isn't the only Hotel in Independence Missouri but I just can't believe how RUDE they were. Traveling from nashville tennessee to Omaha and stopped here for the night. Upon arrival the sign looked a little like it was a clown hotel. (Please redesign the sign). This hotel was amazing!! Stataeted off, the staff was friendly. That I'd always a plus after being on the road all day. I do not sleep well when I travel. I laid my head down and was out all the way until morning. The bed was comfortable, temperature was just right, it smelled clean, air conditioner had a run always fan setting, which is very nice for us light sleepers. Halls are quiet too, we noticed while checking out early the next morning. We just absolutely loved everything about it period we will stop here again on the way through next time. We come to KC 3-4 times a year to see family. We don't normally stay at extended stay hotels but did because there was something going on in this weekend and everything was booked or really expensive. This place is AWESOME. it's new, clean, modern, the people are friendly, it's reasonably priced and it's close to the freeway. You can tell that the people that work there take care of it. The place is under new management and things have gone downhill ever since ... garbage around the landscaping and piling up by the garabage cans , no shoveling on walkways , no pet friendly salt used and causing my dog to limp from pain .. have to carry him to pet area , manager never around when on duty .. plows never come to remove snow .. disappointed on how I have seen this place go down so fast.. that being said the staff , especially front desk is amazing and the hotel is clean and comfortable.. read more

My husband and I stopped here on our way to StL from Colorado. The place looked clean and very nice. However - once we got into the room we found bugs in the bed. We immediately got a refund and went elsewhere. The staff was extremely nice and apologetic but stay here at your own risk. read more

I recently stayed at the MyPlace in Independence, Mo. and encountered a problem, informing Management, but receiving a deaf ear. The room that I was in encountered a leak in the ceiling that was more then a drip and soaked the bed that I attempted to sleep in. The ceiling was clearly "patched" from a previous water problem. I had a long drive the following morning, well an 8-10 hour drive is long enough to hardly get any sleep from the water. I did ask about some reimbursement or discount for the inconvenience, one would think that is something that could easily been taken care of, but no, the only thing that was said, "did you take pictures". I informed them that it was still leaking when I was checking out. Not even an apology. Definitely, not a place that I would recommend or stay at again! Beautiful hotel. New and clean. Bed was comfortable. We arrived around midnight and was greeted by friendly staff. For me, the one major flaw, they do not offer a continental breakfast. They offer food you can buy. There is a small lounge you can have coffee. I have paid this price and less for a hotel room and always had a continental breakfast. As I'm sitting in the lounge writing this a gentlemen at the front desk is apparently not having a good morning and letting everyone who calls know that. Not professional.
