In more than 30 years of leasing vacation rentals in the US and Mexico we have NEVER had such a poor experience as we did with My PV Rentals and one of their leasing agents, Ana. All they care about is getting your money and finding ways to get more money from you. We rented a beautiful condo in Puerto Vallarta February-March 2021. The cost was quoted to us as a "monthly" charge but when we wanted to sleep in the condo through March leaving at 8:00am on April 1 we were told we had to pay another $100 for the night of March 31 as they considered a month to be 30 days. However, when we then asked for two days credit for February as it only has 28 days, they said that the monthly rate was 28 days for February, even though the monthly rate for March (March 1-30) was the same dollar amount as for February. We ended up paying for 61 days and only stayed in the condo for 59 days.
Prior to being told about the new monthly charge we had scheduled to meet at their office to sign the contracts for next January thru March (2022). On the morning of the day were going to their office to sign the contracts for next year we were awakened by someone pounding on the door of our condo at 6:30 in the morning to discover that there was 2 inches of water throughout the condo as the water line to the refrigerator had broken during the night. The building staff was great and we worked along side of them to get all of the water out of the condo. That took over an hour of hard work. We notified Ana by text so she could notify the owner. She acknowledged our text and seemed only concerned that we were still coming to pay them our deposit, over $4500 in cash. When we got to the office and met with Ana there was no mention of our experience earlier that day and not even a "thank you" for just booking for next year. We should have realized then what a poor company My PV Rentals really was. Our experience was so poor that we engaged a different vacation rental agency to find us something for January-March of 2022, which they did, at less money with a better location and a larger unit. When we had that condo secured we canceled our reservation with My PV Rentals for January-April 1, 2022 , knowing that we would lose 20% of our deposit because we did not want to deal with this firm and their representative, Ana.
We were told that upon leaving they would look at the electric meter and charge us for any electric usage, bur if we did not use the air conditioning, which we NEVER used, it wouldn't amount to very much. On the day before we left they presented us with a bill for a $100.00 for electric usage which our friends who live in Puerto Vallarta said was outrageous. When we questioned the amount we received no answer back from them. By this point we just wanted to stop having to deal with anyone at My PV Rentals. On top of all of that , when we cancelled the future vacation for 2022 on March 24, 2021 we were told it would take 7-10 business days to receive the credit to our credit card. After waiting for the ten business days and contacting them two times asking when our refund would be sent (over $3,000.00) they sent us a copy of the credit to our card which showed they did not initiate the credit until April 12th, a full 19 days after they said they would process our refund the day we notified them. We had also given them a security deposit for our current stay and they notified us a few days after we returned to Chicago that they were deducting $23.50 for missing hangers. We certainly did not take their hangers and demanded they return the full amount of the security deposit. That return was just received on April 22nd.
We hope that everyone reads this review and understands what a poor, unprofessional, and often not truthful company My PV Rentals is. There a plenty of other vacation rental companies in Puerto Vallarta to use, so DON'T USE MY PV RENTALS!!!!! read more
