A+ vacation experience, no notes. The location is fantastic--feels private and serene, but a short walk or very quick Uber right into all of the fun of town. It's also so nice at the villa that you don't really need or want to leave--food and drinks were delicious, the pool is lovely, easy beachfront access. Rooms are so comfortable, plenty of room to spread out and the art and decor is all so lovely. Staff is also so helpful--very much also recommend getting a massage on-site that they were able to coordinate. Only regret is not being able to stay longer!!! read more

Of the many trips to Puerto Vallarta I've taken, this one was the best, much in part because of our stay at Villa Estrella Mar. Several friends and I stayed here for five days for a milestone birthday celebration. The house is beautiful, spacious, very well maintained, and very well situated close to the sights and sounds of the Zona Romantica. The entire staff's hospitality, friendliness, and service were all first rate, often above and beyond expectations. We ate most of our meals in the house and all were delicious, well presented, and plentiful. I have stayed at other villas nearby, and this one is now my favorite. Despite a few aspects of the property which are to be expected of a traditional seaside villa which gave it a more rustic feel, our overall experience was excellent and I highly recommended staying and dining at this villa. read more

The views are unreal -- every room looks out over the ocean, and the sunsets from the balcony feel straight out of a movie. The villa itself is stunning, full of beautiful Mexican art and details that make it feel both luxurious and warm. The staff were amazing -- friendly, thoughtful, and somehow always one step ahead of what we needed. The food was a highlight too; the chef made every meal feel special. Wow, where do I start?! What an unforgettable stay. The villa itself is more of an estate tucked into a cove with its own beach access. Wonderfully large rooms around every corner with local art and a local feel. The staff was attentive and accommodating making for a luxurious experience. The most incredible week was spent at Villa Estrella Mar. To start off with the first thing that takes your breath away is the beautiful view. Wow! And the size of the villa. It was so perfect for our getaway with friends. And a private chef!!! The food was delicious and the menu was vast and kept me wanting more. The onsite bartender at the pool was a highlight for sure that kept the passion fruit margaritas flowing. Everyone had their own huge room that provided lots of privacy. I just, a week ago, got back from a fantastic vacation. I've thought that going on a cruise was the closest I'd ever get to being treated like royalty, well, I was wrong. This place is amazing!. A group of 6 couples and one single booked this villa for 6 days (6-2-22 through 6-7-22) and it was unbelievable!! My girlfriend and I chose the Seaside Suite, closest to the beach, and were very happy with it. It's one of the smaller suites but still very roomy and who cares, the only time you're in your room is to sleep, bath and dress. I suppose I could go on and on about every little detail but suffice it to say everything was perfect; service, food, rooms, grounds, EVERYTHING. This is our 2nd stay at Villa Estrella Mar and it was even better than the first! Paco, Oscar, and the whole staff was so friendly and accommodating, there wasn't a request they didn't take care expediently. Our chefs, Lupe and Lola, were artistic in the quality, presentation, taste and diversity of the menus. They flawlessly managed the dietary needs of our 16 guests, including vegetarian requests. The Villa was very clean at all times, and it appeared there was an A/C upgrade since our last visit 5 years ago. Thirteen of our guests had not been to Mexico before and every single one of them want to return within the next 12-24 months. Everyone felt safe both at the Villa and in town. You know you're in for a treat when after telling your taxi cab driver where you're going all you hear are "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from the front seat... I went here with 15 of my closest friends to celebrate several of us turning 40 this year, but really just to party it up in PV. From the moment we stepped into the elevator (one of two on the property) the whole experience became surreal. The various pictures that you see online don't do it justice... forget them. We tried, but like those before us it was impossible to capture in mere pictures the grandeur and magnificence of this 20,000+ sqft palace by the ocean (we gave up after the first day). There literally isn't a bad room in this entire estate- even the "twin room" is ocean front with a balcony and view. Each room is distinctive in its own right and I can honestly say, though we stayed in the 3,000+ sqft master, we would have been ecstatic to stay in any of the suites. The bathrooms by themselves deserve their own features in "Architectural Digest". Paco, Jovani, Lola, Lupe, and the rest of the staff were simply excellent, not just because they attended to our every whim, but also because they accomplished this while making it seem like we were old friends. The plane ride home was actually a bit sad. We're going to intensely miss the endless margaritas that just seemed to appear any time a glass became less than full. The feeling of waking up to probably the best view in all of Puerto Vallarta. Sitting at the huge table at breakfast with all of our friends. Being served delectable treats as the sun set over the ocean. Sleeping to the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach beneath our suites... But I know it will be okay because we're already planning to do the whole trip again next year- this time just to celebrate being in Puerto Vallarta at quite possibly one of the finest estates in all of Mexico. read more

My friends and I celebrated a bachelorette here a few weeks ago and before coming here I thought to myself, "will it be worth the $$$$?!". I have no regret and dream of winning the lottery so I can come back every year. We took an uber from the airport ($6) to the villa (20 min drive). When we first arrived, we were greeted by a staff member who took us down the elevator (1 out of 2 elevators) to the main floor. And after setting our stuff down, another staff handed me a glass of freshly made margarita. Life could not get any better. This gorgeous villa consists of 7 bedroom suites and 9 bathrooms. Each room is uniquely decorated and comes with a view of the ocean. You get the whole place to yourself, including an 8 person staff to cook and clean for you. There's a preset dinner and brunch menu but you can always tell them if there's anything else you want and they will make it for you. Food was incredible! You really don't need to leave the villa because the food here was amazing and always plentiful. For our first night here, we had a Mexican plate with unlimited margaritas and wine. Brunch was even more incredible with a tray full of fresh fruit and sides of eggs, bacon and their signature French toast. The staff were amazing and super friendly and helpful. They helped us book transportations to town and even made us late night snacks before they left for the night! My friends and I had such an amazing weekend here that we want to make it an annual thing. Definitely worth it! read more

Our time at Villa Estrella Mar was like no trip we've ever taken! This is so much more than "a property" - it's a full mini resort experience - all to yourself (and your guests)! You can choose to make it as "action packed" or as relaxing as you'd like. The pool and beach allow for you to relax and take in the fresh salt water air with a good book. The property itself is stunning! Perched up high, it has breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean from every little nook and cranny. The pool is delightful, and the beach is just a staircase away! The art has been thoughtfully procured and fits in with the authentic Mexican décor - just lovely! Now the staff: where to begin? The staff takes the best care of the guests, while not being invasive or overly abundant. They do everything from fine cooking and dining service to laundry to bar-tending to turn-down service. Many of the staff have been with the property for over a decade. Because of that, the property has an extreme sense of safety and security - something always appreciated. They also can make recommendations and arrange car services and help with planning off site activities. My husband and I fell in love with the property after touring over a dozen villas for our destination wedding venue. Immediately upon arriving, we knew Villa Estrella Mar was "the one." After reading so many prior reviews of Villa Estrella Mar in Puerto Vallarta, I am at a loss to add much new information, and can only echo so many earlier comments; I affirm each of those superlatives! Our large, noisy family of 16 luxuriated in the lavish decadence of the Villa for 12 days in June, 2018, ending on July 4th. We found the staff of 11, led by Paco and his assistant Gibran ("Gee"), to be thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay. The two are fluent in English, and many other staff members, while not fluent, easily communicate in English. The Villa is beyond fabulous! The architecture takes full advantage of the spectacular site; gorgeous views are offered from every vantage. I was compelled to sit or stand in a different location just to marvel at how each minor change allowed me to enjoy an entirely new vista. Furnishings and art are exquisite. I felt as if we were staying in a museum after it closed for the night. And despite the best efforts of 4 young grandchildren (ages 9, 7, 3, and 2), the Villa staff (silently and unseen) continually made each room look as if it had not yet been used. Rooms were made while we had breakfast, turn-down service while we had dinner. Laundry disappeared in the morning and returned, ironed and hung each afternoon. Staff even did laundry for us on the day we departed! The kitchen genius of Lupe and Lola was regularly on display (we seldom had meals out). This included a birthday cake complete with inscription! Oh... I do have one complaint: no one told us that the stuffed mushroom appetizer is word-class, and we did not select this choice until the end of our trip. (Do not repeat this mistake... order it early and often!) The location is perfect. Each day we walked to the Playa Los Muertos pier and beyond to shops along Rio Cuale. On occasion we walked from the Villa on the sandy beach, but more often we took the cobblestone street in front of the Villa and dropped into town, a single block off the beach. This was at most a 10-minute stroll. Staff arranged outings for us, all of which started from the Villa, including Ziplining, ATVing, Jet Skis (delivered directly to the beach at the Villa), and a day of sailing/fishing and snorkeling. Staff prepared fresh ceviche from our catch while we relaxed on the beach! Also, I highly recommend a tour of the Botanical Gardens. We spent many hours in and around the delightful pool; staff spoiled us with snacks, lunch and drinks, often handing us another round while we floated or chatted in the pool. In sum, this is a perfect Party House; it is a perfect Family House. Every aspect of this location is worthy of 5 stars. I cannot wait to make plans for our return! Dave Laredo read more
