In general standards, I feel it's just ok and I'd rather drive out further west if I really want a good poke bowl. I came here one day after craving poke and finished my food not quite satisfied. To start, I noticed the poke offerings are very slim. Everything is preset and I highly wish there were more customizable options. Another huge factor for me was their lack of sauce options... they only have soy sauce and spicy mayo. If they offered more sauce options, I'd enjoy my bowl so much more. I also added togarashi to my bowl and it was very strong, to the point where it overpowered the rest of the bowl. The portion size was just ok. My bf was still quite hungry after and again I feel against competing spots around GTA, their portions can be better. The space itself is clean and minimal. I wish you could see behind the bar and watch them make your bowls. In general it's a good start and they have potential since we were lacking Japanese poke/sushi places in the area, but there's much more to be desired considering the price.

I also like their fried tofu. Flavourful and a nice mix of textures -- soft inside, crisp outside. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable for the area ($15-20).

This would have really bummed me out normally, but we were planning on a smaller, a la carte lunch that day anyway. It didn't take too long to be greeted, and we could have our pick of most of the tables. We sat by the booze display case, although we didn't partake on this particular occasion. We were given our menus, which included a dedicated lunch menu. Both of us opted for a 3 roll selection that comes with miso soup and salad for $16.98. There's a 2 roll version for $11.98 as well but I was going to devour the plate itself. I was so hungry. We ordered plain hot water as it was a pretty cold, snowy day. Our first waters came quickly, and the soups and salads as well. I swear every sushi place I've ever been to gets their soup and salad from the same, giant dispenser, meaning, they tasted exactly the same. Not a bad thing, just makes it an average experience. For my rolls, I chose a deep fried crab/cream cheese; a shrimp tempura; and a salmon/cream cheese. My friend chose deep fried butterfish; eel/avocado; and spicy salmon. They didn't take long to arrive, but after that, we weren't checked on whatsoever. I liked that the rice to filling ratio on all of the rolls was not too high. The freshness was also good. We were told that a booster seat was available, but staff refused to provide it because it was being held for another reservation that was expected to arrive later. As parents of a young child, we found this unacceptable. A family already seated in the restaurant should not be denied a basic child-safety accommodation in favor of a future reservation. Rather than trying to find a solution, staff made us feel unwelcome and dismissed our concerns. This was not about special treatment. It was about providing a safe seating option for a toddler while we were dining. Customer service and common sense were both lacking during this visit. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant to families with young children. I hope management reviews its policies and provides better training on how to handle situations involving child safety and family customers.
