Small quantity for the price with very small portion of protein and poor service. The food lacks taste and presentation.

The food is reasonably priced and always tasty. I recommend the cashew orange chicken and the green curry, especially.

The service was warm, friendly, and prompt. however, the food was not cooked up to their usual standard. The beef was over cooked and difficult to chew, the veggies very undercooked not just a little crunchy as they should be, and the dish had hardly any sauce. I keep coming back to My Thai despite the very disappointing serving sizes. I really do love the food and service there. I almost always order noodle dishes and spring rolls with a salad as well. Takeout serving sizes have literally halved over the past 6 years which is super sad. I understand smaller sizes as opposed to raising cost but dining room portions are still extremely generous - what's the deal?! I'm a bit sad each time I go now because I know I'm not getting what I used to. read more

I can't knock the food here... They do serve some great traditional Thai choices - their coconut chicken soup as a starter is delicious as well as dishes like Pad Thai and Cashew Chicken. The atmosphere is great, and the service is above average I do recommend this place - give it a try, I just know 100% there are other Thai places (that you'll have to discover) in Hamilton that serve similar quality for half the price! I don't know why My Thai gets such mixed reviews, as it's always been such a solid go-to place for my family whenever we feel like having take out, and is one of the few places in Ancaster where you get consistently good food (although has become quite expensive over recent years). I came home recently for a few days, and was really happy when my mom surprised me by taking me for lunch here with my brother, parents, and boyfriend (which was weird- we almost always get take out, so am not used to sitting in and ordering!). We ordered all of our "usual" dishes which included pad thai (no chicken, peanuts on the side- they are always happy to accommodate our dietary tendencies), spicy tofu (not on the menu anymore I don't think, but we always ask for it because it is my absolute fave), emerald tofu curry, mango salad, a beef dish, and rice. 2 Pad Thai orders for about 34 bucks?! This price is insane! We've only moved here for a year and it used to be under 30 bucks and over a year 4 bucks more expensive! Your price increase is much higher than the inflation rate! Also you can't maintain the quality of your food. Every time it tastes different, how funny! read more

I came here for dinner when in Ancaster. The place is pretty large and very clean. I love Thai food but a couple of staples that I've become accustomed to (Thai iced tea, house salad) weren't available. I opted for the Tofu & Vegetable pad thai, and split some summer rolls and veggie fried rice with my dining companion. The food was all very well seasoned and the service was friendly. The cost for 2 (1 appetizer, 1 side, 2 entrees) was about $45, which is more than I usually spend on Thai food but pretty reasonable. read more

Walked in and it was very quiet at 3:30 pm. We were seated right away. Music doesn't seem to match the decor but it was calming for the afternoon "dead zone". No one else was in there eating but me and my friend. Ordered fresh spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce which were crunchy and delicious. You have to be a fan of rice paper for this kind of roll though. Without the sweet and sour sauce I would skip this the best time I came in. This came out in under 5 minutes and same with our drinks. Main course took 15 minutes to come back to our table. We both got the vegetable pad Thai. It was absolutely delicious! I'd come again. read more

The pad thai is absolutely my favourite, they also give you a big portion for the dish so it is very filling. The service is great. I've never seen the restaurant busy, and there is usually 2 people on staff working and they usually attend to my needs quickly. The restaurant is very spacious and looks great inside. read more

My family and I have eaten at Ancaster My Thai at least 10 times over the last few years, it's where I bring my dance students for teambuilding night, and it's where I meet friends for lunchdates, and we've never been disappointed. It is predictably good service, good food, good prices, good atmosphere -- every time, bar none. Enjoy. I will also add that we had a very surprising and wonderful experience there recently. After a long day, my family and I had decided to treat ourselves a delivery dinner from Hamilton My Thai. However, we ended up cancelling the order because of poor service. Two hours had now passed since we'd first tried to order our food and sat waiting for the delivery. So I called them back, cancelled, and as we were now starving, hopped into the van and headed up to Ancaster My Thai instead -- only to find it had just closed (9 pm), We told our sad tale of bad service to the kind waiter who met us at the door and sorry to have to turn us away, took my name and number down to allow us 15% our next order at Ancaster. We thanked him and headed back to the van. Before we were 5 minutes away, the Ancaster manager was calling my cellphone to tell us she'd heard our sad story and wanted to make up for our poor experience with the Hamilton location. She said she'd make our dinner fresh right now and deliver it to our house herself -- and that dinner was on her! We couldn't believe it. Hearing we were still only 5 minutes down the road, she told us to just turn around and come pick up our order which would be ready shortly. So we did. We got there, our dinner was ready 5 minutes later, and true to her word, the manager wouldn't take a penny and apologized profusely for our experience at the Hamilton location. I was so shocked and grateful at the manager for going so far above and beyond the usual limits of excellent customer service that tears sprung to my eyes. It's not often you come across this level of service -- or kindness. She finished the whole experience off by giving my daughter and I a big hug. Then sent us on our way, smiling, looking forward to our fragrant dinner, and with renewed trust in the top-notch quality of Ancaster My Thai customer service. read more

This place is not worth the money. I ordered takeout last night and was super unhappy with my meal. I ordered a pad thai, and asked for a takeaway portion of the chili sauce that is on the table. They charged me for this. My friend ordered a side of sticky rice and first they forgot it. I had to turn around and come back to pick it up, once I realized it was not in my bag (even though I was charged for it). When we got the coconut sticky rice, it was obvious that it had been pre-cooked and microwaved as the rice had not even been removed from the plastic baggie. The portion was around a 1/2 cup, which is a blatant rip-off for the $4+ price tag. The coconut chicken soup was TERRIBLE. It had two pieces of carrot, three small chunks of chicken and no other veggies or spices. It was a $6 bowl of hot coconut milk. The spring rolls were also a let down, as it was clear they were deep-fried frozen spring rolls. This place is inauthentic and the quality is low. I only gave it 1 star because the pad thai was enormous and pretty decent. I would recommend going to another Thai restaurant if you want something worth the money and delicious. read more
