We were pleasantly surprised with fresh, flavorful, LARGE dishes. Best red curry I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Their service was good as well. I ordered for delivery..and as others reviewers have stated it took about an hour to arrive..but the food was piping hot and obviously freshly made! I will take that over faster delivery that sits in a car while other deliveries are made any day. I ordered dumplings which I really liked, although to my personal taste the dipping sauce was a bit fishy, coconut lemongrass soup-delicious, and green curry-very good and a nice low level spice. Just got another amazing lunch from this place. Prices are reasonable, food is excellent, and delivery was super fast (got my food in about 25 min). I've lived in State College since August 2011, and I've ordered from My Thai AT LEAST once a month, if not more. I usually get my food delivered, although I've eaten on site a few times. This is by far my favorite restaurant in State College. In the three years I've been here, I've NEVER had a bad experience. EVER. You'll either get quick delivery, or you'll get polite service at your table. And no matter what, you'll come away completely satisfied with your food. To top it all off, the food is reasonably priced. You can't go wrong with any of the curries. And I love the crab rangoon and the fried spring rolls. And of course, Thai iced tea is the best thing ever invented. I'll be moving away soon, so I'm sad to leave this place behind. I envy all you people who are moving here, and how you'll get to discover this little gem. To those of you who stay in State College, don't take this place for granted! It's fantastic! To begin fairly, I asked about gluten free and was given a gluten free menu. Through the years, I've gotten pretty good at figuring out what is probably gluten free, but it pays to be sure, so I was happy that they had a dedicated menu. My guesses turned out to be right, so my husband and I both had the Phad Thai (Aka Thai Style Fried Noodles) (Shrimp). The shrimp was overcooked and the noodles were undercooked. A red sauce was dumped over everything, and made the entire meal pretty bad. It was like leftover leftovers. I'd had Thai food in November at a small Thai restaurant in California, which was fresh, flavorful and outstanding for a very good price. Hoping to repeat the experience in Pennsylvania, I was bitterly disappointed. What is more we couldn't get the yucky taste to be gone for most of the afternoon. Perhaps this restaurant has changed chefs? Or, perhaps Sunday is just a bad day? I don't want to impact someones attempt at making a living, but must be truthful about my experience. I have eaten here 1-2 times a month for over 4 years, often as carry-out. I rate 5 stars because in all this time the food has been consistently good and the service was always friendly (these folks seem to never have a bad day, lol). We come here for special occasions because of the high quality food and such helpful, kind, attentive service. Thanks to all the reviewers here that led me to Chiang Mai Curry. It is so addictive!! It is so flavorful and delicious. I get it with the shrimp. A little spicy, but so tasty. The Tom Yum soup has noodles, but is still decent. My husband has enjoyed almost everything he has had from there and he can eat anything. Visited here while shopping at the Goodwill which is located in the same Westerly Plaza. The decor was high end but the tables were in need of refinishing. Such an odd combination. The place was busy which in retrospect seems odd. The luncheon prices were very reasonable. $7.95 for meal and soup. The single waitress was pleasant but not surprisingly flustered waiting on 7 tables. The bus boy brought us water in glasses with lipstick and smudges that appeared to not have been washed. My hot and sour shrimp, chicken veggie soup came out in a bowl that was chipped and only had shrimp and button mushrooms without any of the chicken and a greasy unappetizing flavor. The veggie soup my husband had was bland and entirely cabbage. Again odd. We had Miang Kham coconut wrap appetizer which was basically a trail mix on iceberg lettuce with a honey fish sauce. Unimpressive. The Phad Thai, a favorite of ours at most Thai restaurants, was way to heavily sauced and terribly salty. I could not finish it and had no desire for take-out. The Massaman Curry had no chicken and undercooked potatoes. Overall I cannot recommend this restaurant and that makes me sad because we love to shop up here and we love good Thai food. Best pad thai in town by far. My boyfriend and I have tried every pad thai we've come across, and this is by the best we've had. Not to mention the homemade crispy tofu is to die for. Although the atmosphere isn't as romantic as Cozy Thai Bistro, they're food is better by far. read more

I work at a business where the employees must take their lunch breaks in turns. We ordered 3 thai teas, shrimp in a blanket, shrimp fried rice, beef pad see ew, beef drunken noodles, and 2 shrimp pad thais. Since these were lunch specials, they are all supposed to come with soup or salad. All of the noodle dishes were ordered "medium spicy." The pad thais came super spicy, and the beef dishes were not spicy at all. One pad thai did not come with its salad, and the other pad thai did not have any shrimp! My Tom Kha Gai soup had barely any chicken in it. The employee who ordered the salad fortunately caught it right away. When she called, she was told she would get a free salad the next time she ordered. Unfortunately the employee with the shrimpless pad thai did not get to check her food until much later and was told there was nothing My Thai could do about it. I decided not to bother complaining about my soup. I'd rather just not order from My Thai again. If restaurants must rely on customers to check their food as soon as it arrives to make sure everything is there, it projects an image that the workers at the restaurant are unreliable. Make sure you send out complete orders and you won't have to worry about customers trying to scam free food out of you. read more
