Everyone was so nice every single time and stopped what they were doing as soon as my son felt overwhelmed. They truly want kids to enjoy their visit to the dentist. I'm writing this on behalf of my elderly mother who does not speak English well. She visited this…read moreoffice for a consultation and was advised to have multiple teeth extracted. During that consultation, she was told the extractions would be covered under her insurance and that getting a temporary denture for $900 was optional. Because she has Medicaid and cannot afford that, she chose to wait for the permanent denture that Medicaid covers after the healing process. The temporary denture was clearly presented as a choice, not a requirement. Today, she returned for the scheduled extraction and followed every instruction, including taking the antibiotic one hour beforehand. However, when she informed Dr. Yang Fan that she did not want the temporary denture, the dentist became visibly upset. Then suddenly, the office claimed that the extractions would now cost $200 per tooth, even though they had previously stated that they were covered. Even more concerning, Dr. Fan then suggested that my mother should not remove the teeth at all, and instead to just proceed later with a permanent denture placed over the teeth that were originally recommended for extraction. To us, that advice made no sense, as the teeth were advised for removal in the first place, which strongly suggests they were not in good condition. Recommending to leave them in simply because she declined an optional denture is extremely unprofessional and confusing. My mother recently had open-heart surgery earlier this year and moves slowly, yet Dr. Fan spoke to her in a rude, impatient tone and told her to "get up" from the chair, rushing her out of the room. She waited over an hour and took the antibiotic -- which should only be taken when necessary -- for no reason, because the dentist refused to treat her after she declined the optional denture. When I called the office to clarify what happened, I was placed on hold for 7-10 minutes with no explanation, no communication, and no attempt to help. This office showed a complete lack of compassion, professionalism, and medical ethics, especially toward an elderly patient with a language barrier and a serious recent health condition. No patient should be denied necessary dental treatment or pressured financially simply for declining an optional upgrade.

I mean, they're always really nice and courteous on the phone when I call to tell them my son has arrived for his appointment. If you think about it, the first person a patient/parent meets is the receptionist so they can make or break the mood of the appointment. No worries here ... receptionists are SUPERB and a pleasure to deal with. My son's appointment today was with Dr. Ari, his orthodontist. Dr. Ari has always been very open and honest with what needs to be done and what can wait to be done at a later time. He is very reassuring whenever I've had questions about when my son would need to get his braces in. My son actually had his braces put in the month before the pandemic began ... but Dr. Ari never skipped a beat. I got monthly calls to see how things were going and Dr. Ari even FaceTimed my son a couple of times to do virtual appointments to check on how his braces were coming along. Obviously during the period while the office was closed, things were hard but once the office decided to open back up, I got a call requesting to make an appt (if I felt comfortable enough ... which I was) for my son to go in and see Dr. Ari in person. I always recommend Dr. Charlie and Dr. Ari to anyone looking for a top-notch pediatric dentist and/or pediatric orthodontist. She just sat in the chair and was very comfortable with her experience. I was so surprised to see my baby so cooperative. Since she always struggles to brush her teeth at home. I had a great experience yesterday when I brought my 3 year old here to fix his cavities. They got…read moreso bad to the point that our original pediatric dentist couldn't fix them in his primary care office. He told us we needed to go somewhere that will be able to put him under general anesthesia as he is too young and finicky to be able to just have nitrous oxide. So I researched several places and this one came up with great reviews for Dr Sybil. Ultimately, we liked her and had the procedure done. We received a call from the anesthesiologist the night before to review everything and went in at 8am to begin- luckily it was too early for him to eat breakfast and he had to be NPO anyway. Dr Sybil and the rest of the team reassured us and reviewed everything before they began. My husband took our child in, they put a mask on and he was out in less than a minute. Then we waited in a small meeting room while they did his dental work. Around 11am, Dr Sybil came out to tell us everything went well, that they were waiting for him to wake up and that they will get us before he really wakes up so he wouldn't be too scared. Grateful to Dr Sybil, Dr Rivero (anesthesia) and Nancy (paramedic) for their awesome job. And thanks to the staff for checking on us and offering refreshments! Great place for kids and excellent customer service.
