I recently moved nearby and needed to find a new eye doctor so I tried this one, unfortunately. I picked up my glasses on March 4th, and less than three weeks later, the glasses broke as I was putting them on. As my picture shows, one side cracked in the corner and the lens came out. This place, My Vision Care, refused to provide a replacement because I had not purchased an express warranty. Why is there no implied warranty that I am not being sold a defective product? Why did their glasses break from the simple act of putting them on, especially when I had the glasses for less than three weeks? There must have been some shoddy work involved in making those glasses. Prior to this, I used the same glasses for eight years without any issue (they were from My Eye Doctor). My Vision Care said I could buy the same frame from them and then they would put the lenses in the new frame. No thanks, I will be going to a different eye doctor to fix this issue. I have no reason to have any confidence that My Vision Care will not sell me another defective product. My Vision Care has wasted enough of my time and money with their unfair business practices. STAY AWAY!!! This place was a horrible experience!! I went here for the first time, and the store was dirty, and had a unpleasant odor, and the staff were not friendly at all. The old man who did the eye exam was grouchy and very demanding during the exam. I did notice some plaques on his wall that mentioned stuff like "optometrist of the year", but with no sponsor or anything, making them seem fake, as if he had them made to make him look more appealing than he really was. Ordered a box of contacts with my insurance through them, but they were supposed to call in 72 hours to verify that the new contacts were comfortable and a good fit. A week later, I called them so they could submit my order, but the lady on the phone was incompetent and the approving person in the office was out, and she had ME CALL someone else with their chain to get it approved. Fast forward a month later, I called and asked where my contacts were, since they only ship them to the store instead of my residence, and they said that it hasn't come in yet. A MONTH!!! I give it a week, and I show up asking for my contacts. The woman at the counter was rude and unapologetic, and only had one of my contact boxes (for one eye). She claimed the delay due to COVID, but we all know that is a lie. Amazon, UPS, FedEx has been going strong, and there was plenty of stock available from external contact lenses websites. Since I paid them money for the contacts that never came, I disputed the charge with them with my bank and my insurance. Since I was at least able to get a Rx prescription, I was able to order contacts through my insurance directly, and had my contacts in 2 days. This place is a dump, the workers are rude and incompetent, and the dr is a low end optometrist. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I would give a zero star review if possible. The glasses my mom and I received from this place were very cheap in quality and the lens itself doesn't clean well, and it is flimsy. I could find better quality glasses at dollar tree. They OVERCHARGE by so much a flimsy weak cheap glasses with prescription lens cost OVER 400$. They will scam you, do NOT go there. The ladies at the front desk will sweet talk you and get to know you just to fraud you of your money. BEWARE! read more

Very frustrated with this business. When I purchased my glasses I explained that I was getting them because my dog had chewed my old frames. They explained they had an insurance/warranty they could add to the purchase which would cover one pair no matter what happened within a year. Great! I thought and added this cost. Two months later I come in to use the insurance I paid for because, my dog had chewed my frames, and all of a sudden they do not cover this. Bait and switch! All of a sudden it's only "wear and tear." They said they might be able to get my lenses covered and maybe a 40% discount on the frames. Took forever !!!! You can tell they had some family post 5 star reviews. Literally over 2 1/2 hrs later for an eye exam, still no glasses. They were so slooooww. I had an appointment at 5pm and did not get to see a the doctor until 6:15 pm, and I had an appointment. If you have 4 hrs to spare and bring a phone charger you might be ok with it. read more

My whole family goes to this office every year. My prescription doesn't change anymore, but I want to check annually. The office requires me to get a glasses or they wont do the eye exam. It is ridiculous. Then they said the next available is 04/30. Which is 1 month from now. My cousin called and told them that he will get glasses. They have appointment for him next week 04/06. Scheduled an eye exam for myself and my daughter. Purchased a pair of glasses for my daughter but didn't see a pair I like for myself, as a result I was refused the eye exam. It was only after my daughter got her exam that I realized they were not going to see me, I had to ask. We've come here in the past for eye exams and contact lenses. I can't say enough about how much I like this optometry office. This optometrist and his staff are one of the best optometrist in the area. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. This is the second time I went to this place. Not sure why I went back after the first time. I think I was just too lazy to look for another doctor. The office is tiny and I just don't like the vibe. The girls who work up front aren't exactly warm and friendly and all the glasses are locked up so you can't try them on (pre Covid too). Not sure how you can choose glasses this way?! But my biggest complaint was with the doc. He actually scolded me! Like got physically mad! I was doing my eye exam like normal. 1 or 2? Etc. Let me also back this up by telling you I had to wear a mask due to Covid so it kept fogging you the lenses. I kept trying to hold it down but then I couldn't breathe! So anyway I guess I wasn't answering them right because he said "NO! You're not focusing! Pay attention!!" I felt like a child and I am nearing 50 years old. I really didn't care for the way he said that. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. I also asked for a contact exam AND a glasses exam. Did not get a rx for glasses and had to wait over a week to get my contact prescription. They also gave me a rebate for ordering a years worth of glasses but it was expired. Today, I was refused service by a medical professional because I would not make a retail purchase. I have been a patient at this practice for close to four years. I visit once a year for a thorough eye examination and to receive a new prescription for contact lenses. Earlier in the week, I made an appointment for July 3rd. I arrived 10 minutes early and completed the required paperwork. Someone also took my temperature. At this point it is 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. One of the employees comes over to me and says, "You can go ahead and select your frames". I then replied, "I am here for an eye examination." The front desk representative then proceeds to tell me that the doctor is only seeing patients who will make an eye glass purchase there in the office. I'm feeling confused as I wear contact lenses. Why would I be expected to by eye glasses? I'd been here before and this was never the case. I'd communicated with the office three times this week before my scheduled visit. (1.To make appointment 2.They called to confirm my insurance info and 3. They called the day prior to remind me of the appointment) Not once was this "change in policy" ever stated to me. Even in the 30 minutes while I was sitting there waiting to see the doctor, no one mentioned it. This new information is not on the business website; posted anywhere in the office or included in the multiple pages of paperwork.Needless to say, this practice lost a patient today. I've already found a new doctor who does not require his patients to buy $700 eye glasses. I can no longer recommend this doctor. I was refused service by a medical professional because I would not make a retail purchase. I understand that COVID-19 has had an awful impact on many businesses, but this is not the way to try and make money that may not have been made the past few months. A true disgrace! read more

I broke my glasses and went there with my old glasses so they would put them in the frame. The old glasses were returned to me when the new glasses were put in the frame by them a year ago. I was told neither they or the lab can't help me and that I should get an eye exam since the insurance would pay. This was Saturday. How was I suppose to see anything. So in my desperation I tried WAL-MART. Funny.. they were able to put the old glasses in the frame free of charge. Thank you Wal-Mart for an outstanding customer service. Shame on you my vision care. I got lucky enough to have a same day appointment and the Doc was great! Fit me for a new Rx for contact lenses, then actually gave me a pair (which I've never seen a shop have my Rx...). Ordered a years worth cheaper then I could online, and got a mail-in rebate on top of that. Excellent service and I felt very comfortable there for sure! The star is only because I have to. This has nothing to do with the actual optometrist as we never meet or were examined or the new young receptionist that was being trained. This is solely about the "office manager" older middle eastern woman. She was rude. This is my first yelp review & I hate that it has to be a negative one, especially because I believe in custom service. Since a a copy of my ID & insurance card had been made I asked for it back as well as the prescription. She flat out refused. Only gave me my Script, but we were only been there for 10 minutes & no folder was created so I was confused. I tried to reason with her, she waived me off with her hand. Refusing to give the RX for office rules reasons I can totally understand but the entire service from beginning to end was offal!! The worst I've ever been treated. Mind you I was calm, nice & used all my magic words. Please if you don't want to get treated as you walked in & are a bother instead of a valued customer like everyone one should who comes to spend their hard earned money. I would suggest you go somewhere else. Perhaps she serves to a particular demographic. I do NOT recommend My Vision Center in Woodbridge,VA to anyone. Selina as the young lady told me was her name or "Lina" has zero understanding of customer service. No wonder the room was empty & I would not be surprised if she is part of the reason. read more

I was very fortunate to find Dr. Ashfaq. After my teenage daughter was misdiagnosed twice by different doctors he was able to immediately identify her vision issues and provide corrective solution. She even got her glasses the same day in matter of hours! Not only that my daughter's vision has improved with her new prescription glasses but her migraine headaches and squinting was also completely eliminated in matter of days.
