Driving up I didn't realize they had a drive thru so this place became very convenient for me. They had a great menu focused on Chicago's beef sandwich and man was it delicious. I ordered the beef sandwich dipped with Cajun fries and a green goddess smoothie and MAN was I wowed by all the flavors. Fantastic place with a great menu and very friendly staff.

Chicago Food? That literally could mean anything! BUT…read more.. IMO, "Chicago Food" especially means deep dish pizza, Chicago dogs, Chicken Vesuvio, and ITALIAN BEEF SANDWICHES! It means a few other things too, but these top my personal list. Chicago Post Cafe does at least two of these items very well. Today, I had the Italian Beef Sandwich with hot peppers and marinade on the side. Although hard to eat (the damned things falls apart too easily), it was fantastic. I've had more than a few of these, in Chicago none the less, and this version is honestly one of the best. It's better than Portillo's, and almost as good as Johnie's. Choose your peppers...hot, mild, and/or sweet! Plan to use your fingers to get what falls off the roll, because you won't want to waste a single morsel. Drink the marinade/dip while you're at it. The menu is pretty extensive, and breakfast seems to be featured. I saw another customer's plate, and her bacon, eggs, and pancake looked incredible. The place is small and a little tight, but you can eat in-house. Only one table seats more than 2. Service was fast and friendly. Very friendly. Yeah, I am remiss. I really should be eating here more often. Strictly breakfast and lunch. 5 stars for now.

All of the food was amazing, but hands down the table favorite was honestly the whipped feta. It's what dreams are made of! It had a slightly spicy oil topper, and delicious crostini! The only note I would give, is that the bacon appetizer really needs to come with a steak knife for sharing. It was a little too hard to cut with just the butter knife. Steaks and sides are all prepared perfectly, the button mushrooms were a hit as well. I would completely recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will return again if I'm back in the area.

We arrived 45 minutes before closing, and the host asked if we'd like to sit in the bar where they offer the full menu. Saying yes was fine until the last 15 minutes. A better choice would have been to sit in the dining room. We started off with drinks, V ordered a Mai Tai, and I had a Tequila something or other. The drinks tasted good, if I were a betting person, I'd say that they touched the ice with alcohol, and that's about it. I don't drink very often, so I always know if a drink contains a meaningful amount of alcohol. They brought out a warmed puff bread. It was unique for sure, and tasted good too. Our appatiser was Lobster Tail served on a bed of vinegar-based coleslaw with miso or something similar. The flavors worked together fabulously. V's entree was a beef stir fry. He said it was ok, but nothing special. He also ordered the Smoked Gouda & Rosemary Mac & Cheese with bacon. That side dish was very tasty, but overpowered my entree, though it paired well with his beef. I had the Miso Halibut, which came over with Sweet Chili Bok Choy and Jasmine Rice. This entree had perfectly paired flavors; I'd certainly like to have it again. Our waitress was friendly and attentive; we couldn't ask for better service. Sitting in the bar wasn't a good idea as in the last 15 minutes a loud-mouthed womanizing man started sharing his conquests with six other people.

After a long wait, I finally received a response on October 29 apologizing for the delay and confirming my date was available. They asked me to schedule a call through their portal to discuss details, which I did for November 4. Unfortunately, they did not show up for the call. They eventually connected with me later that day, and I sent inspiration photos to help with planning. After that, I heard nothing until January 16, 2026, when Katie messaged me asking if I had seen her proposal. She apologized for the lack of follow-up and said she would resend it if needed. I informed her that I had not received the proposal in my spam or portal, and she promised to resend it the next day. However, by January 17, I still had not received anything. I followed up again on March 1, 2026, hoping for some progress. Despite the ongoing communication issues, I was drawn to their work because of the beautiful photos and event space they showcased on Instagram. I really wanted to use their services. On March 2, I finally received a response from Stephen, who explained Katie was attending a conference but assured me I would get the proposal within a few days, no later than the end of that week. Now, 20 days later, I have received no proposal and no further follow-up. I am left with no choice but to look elsewhere. If I could give zero stars, I would. I cannot comment on their food or event space because I was never able to utilize their services. I want to support local small businesses, but this experience has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating.

The sweet and sassy curry sauce presentation had a strong resemblance to a plate of barf and unimpressive flavor. I can't really imagine why anyone would consider it good asian food. A few other fails along the way getting the food out... no need to go into the details. I only stopped here because traffic was backed up on 75 and it seemed the least bad of the options nearby. Honestly, Panda Express has better asian game at half the price.

I ordered the "What the Chunks" expecting something worthy of the $11.44 I paid (plus an extra $7.60 for a medium. Don't ask me why it costs that much more, because I have no idea). That's nearly $20 before tax and tip for what turned out to be the most disappointing takeout experience I've had in years. Let's talk about the "chunks": They were barely bits. Microscopic scraps of what I assume was once chicken, cooked into dry, rubbery oblivion. It was like someone chopped up last week's leftovers, let them sit under a heat lamp, then dumped them into a tiny container and called it a day. Extremely dry, tough, flavorless. Honestly, Chicken McNuggets would've been a culinary upgrade. The portion size? A joke. You get what feels like a lunch special from a mediocre Chinese takeout, not a $20 entree. I've had more satisfying meals from a gas station snack aisle. I left feeling completely robbed. Not just of my money, but of my appetite and time. If you're even thinking about ordering the chunks here, don't. I wouldn't wish that meal on anyone.

To my surprise the parking lot is packed and there's nowhere to park. No signs or anything indicating you can park around the back as I found out later so I ended up parking in the lot next door. They only have a few chicken items on the menu. One chicken sandwich and one roasted chicken dinner. I got the chicken sandwich which is the Hyde park. This is the same exact sandwich I've gotten every time I've ever been here which is why I really haven't come back because there's not a lot of selection for me. The other reason is they got rid of the croissants on the menu LOL. The service was fast and friendly and there was about a medium sized crowd inside despite the parking lot being full. They have kind of a dark semi romantic atmosphere I guess they're going for. The chicken sandwich was nice and tender. I'm not a fan of the shoe string fries because they remind me of Steak and Shake and at this price point I think they should have some good fries here. They actually had a few craft beers on tap but I thought the cocktail prices were a little extreme at 15 plus. My girl got the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and the potatoes were ice cold so they lose a star for that. Other than that I have no complaints except that the pricing for lunch. $20 for a chicken sandwich is a bit much to me.
