Flowers are my rich-person splurge...you know, the one thing you'd have if you were rich? Mine would be fresh flowers (among many other things, haha). But while I looooove fresh floral arrangements, this aspect of wedding planning gave me a lot of stress. I'm not picky about flowers...I didn't know what I liked, didn't have set colors, and wasn't too fixated on details. I didn't even know what a peony was, haha...but I just wanted them to look NICE and not too formal or extra. More importantly, I didn't have $10k to shell out. When a fellow friend (who is both particular and has excellent taste) heard of my dilemma, she immediately recommended I contact Younghee. I immediately found her on instagram (@myweddingsense) and fell in looooove with the arrangements. Younghee was very responsive via email and even met up with us a full year before our wedding. Prior to meeting, she asked me to create (and link) her to my Pinterest board. My selections were all over the place, and she helped me narrow things down. At our meeting, she showed us her portfolio. My then-fiance and I each selected one arrangement we liked, I pointed out some bouquets I wanted, and that was it. She just asked that we let her know what colors we wanted as the wedding neared. As we got closer, she worked closely with our coordinator to come up with the arrangements. I was very, very big on repurposing things where we could, and luckily Younghee had excellent recs on how to keep things within our budget. She never once made us feel bad about our budget and really tried to work with what we had. She made these gorgeous altar arrangements that, along with our bridesmaids' bouquets, doubled as our sweetheart table decor. The flowers were so beautiful and so fresh...and exactly what we wanted (but didn't know!). I also hate when bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages get wilty by the end of the night, but ours didn't. I only had a couple requests for her (no carnations or mums per my mom's request...and my low budget, LOL), and we went into our wedding not knowing what our flowers would look like. We just trusted Younghee, and I'm so glad we did. We received compliments from our parents' friends (you know how those people roll at weddings, LOL) for weeks after regarding our floral arrangements. The flowers lasted sooo long. I sent some of our arrangements down to LA for my grandfather, and he was able to enjoy them for about 10 days after the wedding. She put these huge, fluffy peonies in all our bouquets (my BMs in particular really, really loved their bouquets). AND the best part of all - in a huge surprise to my husband and me, she incorporated mint leaves in our bouquets (our hashtag had "mint" in it). Younghee was my favorite vendor through all of 1.5 years of planning for our big day, our wedding. I'm pretty OCD and she exceeded my expectations from the beginning to the end. I literally could not have been more impressed. I think everyone that has encountered her, would agree with me that her sketches are AMAZING. Even my wedding venue remembered her beautiful sketches from a prior wedding. She also only takes 2 seconds to sketch them out! She is capable of being more than a florist if she wanted to. Younghee saved me from working with an additional vendor for our drapes on our barn door. She did amazing on that too. If you are planning yourself, I'm sure you must be so tired of reaching out to a gazillion vendors to get quotes, hoping they don't rip you off and having to calculate another delivery fee into your budget. I remembered my friend's flowers from more than a year ago and this was how I found Younghee. I was a bit worried because her wedding was in the winter time, so I wasn't sure how her flowers would last through 90 degree weather in a winery for mine. But, her flowers lasted beautifully, even a few days after! I'm jumping the gun here and writing my review before my photos are even ready because I feel like she deserves the credit and I'd feel selfish if I didn't share such a great find to my yelp followers. My experience with Younghee was amazing. She took the time to meet with us in person to discuss our wedding vision. We had a few follow up calls in between from the time we booked her until our wedding day. We leaned on her and her creativeness for our final displays and they all turned out better than we could have anticipated. We were referred to Younghee Baek of My Wedding Sense by our wedding coordinator. We really waited until the last minute to book our florist so we were beyond blessed to have been able to work with Younghee. I contacted so many florists but they were either booked or asking for a ton of money. Let's just say I wasn't willing to pay $10,000 for flowers. Prior to meeting with Younghee, we were certain we had our florist locked down. We thought she understood our vision, but we were very wrong. She created a sample centerpiece for us and I was so upset with the quality of the flowers and the overall arrangement. It just didn't make any sense. I was really hoping and praying Younghee would be able to execute. She went above and beyond my expectations and I couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of her work. When we first met with Younghee, I immediately knew we were in good hands. She started off by asking about our color palette and came prepared with a binder full of various colors to look at. I didn't have a set idea in mind, I just knew I wanted peonies and a light color palette with a few touches of pinks/peaches and no traditional roses. I showed her some pictures of floral arrangements I liked and the rest was up to her creative judgement. Throughout the remaining few months we had left, Younghee kept in great contact with me. She was always following up in regards to design ideas and creating a back up plan. Flowers are available during different seasons and it is often hard to predict what will be fresh and available at the time of your wedding. In my case, peonies were coming to the end of their season for my June 2013 wedding. Although I was very set on having peonies, Younghee created a beautiful back up plan involving Garden Roses. On the day of my wedding, I was so surprised with the quality of her work. The flowers were so full, fresh, and beautiful. She even got a hold of peonies to fulfill my wedding wishes :) My bouquet was my favorite, but everything she created was truly just as beautiful. Younghee, the owner, did the flowers for my April wedding two months ago. I was lucky to meet Younghee at a small wedding fair thrown by Suji Events. Younghee had arranged several centerpiece examples for the event. My fiancé and I fell in love with one of her designs and got a quote from her on the spot that fit within our budget! Weeks later, we contacted her again and met with her twice to discuss flower designs. Younghee is a pleasure to work with--she is so polite and kind. I had several ideas for the flowers, but was having a hard time figuring out how they would all work. Younghee's talent for arranging flowers became clear as she sorted through my ideas, helping me figure out which ones would work together and what type of overall color scheme would work best with my wedding colors and bridesmaids' dresses. Memorably, she even pulled out a little kit of sample colors cut in the shape of leaves and flowers with a plethora of different shades. She let me pick out the colors I liked best and then would show me what a bouquet with those colors would look like, even down to the leaves that would be around them. We ended up with a blush pink, peach, and white color scheme that I completely loved. There were little bumps throughout the process that I expect are common--some of the flower types that I wanted weren't in season in April, but Younghee provided me with tons of options for alternatives and didn't even charge extra when I selected a more expensive flower. On the big day of the wedding, I was so surprised and delighted with the flowers. My bouquet was huge, and Younghee had even wrapped the base of the flowers with pink ribbon and lace, decorated with a small pink and white cameo-style pin. This was a wonderful touch that everyone remarked on. Working with Younghee as our florist was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend her for any wedding you are planning. You'll get excellent service and someone who really cares about the final outcome of your wedding. And on top of that, she has a true talent and eye for what will look good. My husband and I wed in San Jose at the end of June of 2012, but I still remember those weeks of preparing. Just like many brides, I had been collecting ideas of what I wanted to see for my wedding. I may not be very creative, but I do appreciate beautiful things. Due to my limited budget, my husband and I had to opt out of having our wedding in a beautiful vineyard or a lovely outdoor scenery. Our next sentimental location would be my home church. The sanctuary of my home church is very clean and bare. The cafeteria, which would be used for my reception, looked like an industrial cafeteria. To a bride, it looked like decorating the two areas for a dream wedding would be an impossible task. Mrs. Baek helped me to prepare for my wedding months before the wedding day. She has an extraordinary amount of creativity and is very resourceful. Her goal wasn't to figure out what would be in her best interest, but she genuinely did her best to maximize my budget. She met up with me several times to show me her personal sketches and proposal designs and they put me at ease. She integrated my themes into the decorations and also had great feedback about how to make most of the space that we had. As the wedding day approached, I started to feel more excited about how the reception area would be transformed. I honestly, absolutely loved my bouquet. She added in my favorite flowers, peonies, which were thankfully in season. I loved the ways that she used my colors: lilac, pastel pink, and cream, to work them into the whole wedding. She took my inspiration boards and made them into reality. She also made my cake-toppers (the wooden painted dolls). She is not only wonderful with flowers and ceremony designs, but she truly is an artist! All in all I was very satisfied with how beautiful the ceremony place looked and also how the reception place looked. My guests (most of whom were members of my church) were in shock of how magically she transformed our cafeteria. Mrs. Baek is a magical person to work with. She is not only great in working with big themes and large-scaled projects, but she is also great in seeing how details fit into creating beautiful large events. Ms. Baek is truly passionate about flowers. When we first met with her she spent a good portion of our meeting just designing my bouquet. We were impressed with her attention to detail and knowledge of flowers, and really liked her portfolio. Even though I wanted just one vendor for flowers, lighting, and decor, I wanted Ms. Baek as our florist because I knew she would give me the beautiful bouquets and centerpieces I wanted at a great price. She really cares about making sure you're happy and you're getting what you want. She did not disappoint! All the centerpieces, and especially my bouquet, were absolutely gorgeous. However, I cannot give a full 5 stars because she did run a little behind setting up and was a little late to the cleanup. Based on the experience of other people who are married, the florist pins the boutonnieres/corsages, but she said that was not her responsibility so everyone had to help each other get their boutonnieres pinned. Even though we had discussed in email several times which family members were getting the boutonnieres and corsages, on the day of when asked by the groomsmen, she said she did not know, and my father (!) ended up getting his boutonniere pinned by a staff member of the venue RIGHT before he walked me down the aisle. Two of the corsages (for my stepmom and grandmother), and one boutonniere (for my grandfather) never got pinned on the proper persons, which still upsets me a little =/ Ms. Baek really has a great sense of aesthetics when it comes to flowers, but can be somewhat disorganized. I would give 3.5 stars but she is a very sweet lady and the flowers were beautiful and fresh, so I rounded up to 4. read more

I feel so lucky that I stumbled upon Younghee on Yelp, because she made my wedding floral vision come true and I didn't even know I had one! I got married 2 months ago, and to be honest flowers was low on my priority list. I had some Pinterest-inspired bridal bouquets and my mind was constantly changing what arrangement I want. Younghee really was a lifesaver- I basically gave her all my pinterest links, color scheme, some flowers I like or don't like, and a budget, and she executed all the bouquets, boutonnieres, pinned corsages, garlands for kings tables at reception so amazingly that it blew me away. Younghee made my wedding flower dreams come true! I was set on cherry blossoms for my early March wedding. Most of the florist I spoke to either quoted me 2-3x the price or told me it's not possible. Younghee was very personable and offered to meet me in person to discuss my vision. She is so sweet and will do anything to make sure the bride is happy. She even went with me to the venue to view the space to really see my vision. As a bride, an unresponsive vendor only adds stress to your planning. Younghee was responsive and always offered a listening ear to my (over the top) ideas. Her prices are extremely reasonable! She will offer ways to help you save money. I just got married in May of 2014 and used Younghee as my florist. I wanted a rustic chic look for my wedding and I didn't want the decor to look overly done. I wanted a casual vibe for my wedding. I had a vision in my head, but execution is more difficult. Now, just because something looks simple or casual does not mean it doesn't require control, planning, and work. It takes a lot of work to look SIMPLE!! Lol. This is where Younghee comes in. I interviewed 3 other florists before deciding to go with Younghee. What I really wanted was to just throw some money at someone, and not have to worry about flowers and have the venue look perfect. (It's what EVERY bride wants!!!) The two other florists I interviewed asked me way too many questions about flowers and color schemes, which I found irritating. I was already responsible for a plethora of other decisions, so I actually didn't want to think about which flowers looked good with what. I mean, I had no clue. I just had a vision in my head, but no knowledge of how to execute it. I just wanted to defer to the florist' expertise and vision. Anyways, at my meeting with Younghee, she came prepared with a giant beautiful portfolio. She had color palettes, a list of flowers, and pictures that she collected that she thought would be appropriate for my wedding. She even made preliminary color drawings of centerpieces she envisioned for my wedding. She told me she studied art and design back in Korea. I was like, ok! Dang! You're hired! Her attention to detail blew me away. Needless to say, the floral arrangements for the wedding was beautiful. She made maids bouquets, brides' bouquet, centerpieces for the tables, decorated aisles and the floral arrangement for the gazebo. I actually did not have to spend much time or money into any other decor for my wedding because the flowers was enough. At the last minute, she told me she purchased peonies for my bouquet. I couldn't afford peonies so we agreed not to put peonies in my bouquet. But somehow, she was able to purchase some beautiful pink and white peonies for my wedding.
