Finally, after years of looking for actual REAL MEDICAL CARE for women in Reno - I HAVE FOUND THE PLACE GIRLS! So far so good- They treat you with respect! They do not scoff at your issues! You FEEL like they care- and I'm not kidding I think they ACTUALLY DO CARE ABOUT YOU AS A PATIENT!!!!! I feel very blessed to finally have someone LISTEN TO ME and follow through to make sure my medical issues are handled with dignity and respect! I want to also say that nurse Jessi is the best nurse and she will go far helping many people I can see she is a very gifted professional.
The APRN, Mary, who did my exam, and spoke to me about an injury caused by my past doctor, was super professional, objective, and appropriately empathic as well. She did a wonderful job and gave me a better medical check than others who are actual medical doctors have done in the past 13 years. She found a breast nodule with no problems, and I feel for the first time in several years like I actually have a medical provider for women's care that I can trust. They checked my thyroid- FINALLY someone who understands where to start helping me.
I am hopeful I can finally start to get medical care again. It is very difficult to explain to someone who has not experienced terrible care what happened to me, and many other women, and what still keeps happening. There is a new procedure called a "bilateral salpindectomy", and I want to warn any woman being offered this procedure to stop seeing whoever suggested it. A bilateral salpindectomy is fancy medical talk for eugenics and reproductive restriction for older women- that is women over 35. I was 36 when it was done to me and I declined sterilization, I was only at the hospital to check for a condition called endometriosis, which I didn't even have. I apparently had nothing wrong with me at all until I trusted the wrong provider and he practiced his will on me while I slept. I am now only able to conceive via IVF ladies, against my wishes and verbal direction that morning. I was sterilized anyway because the doctor felt like it. He told me later, "thats what women your age do", as I sobbed in disbelief such a monster had touched me for 13 years and probably never actually gave me real care. I will say, watch out for Klaich's and his associates in ob/gyn, they are into EUGENICS and taking from women over 35 "the gift". I will say I am a momma bear, always have been and always will be, and right now, in our current culture, we are allowing a sort of "birth control culture" to rob us of actual medical care and will over our bodies. I don't need a pill, let men take a pill or leave me alone!
This is a good office, so far so good like I said, and I do not believe them to be part of what many refer to as the "evil medical empire", they are the opposite to my knowledge and one time experience. This place is safe- at least it was for me- so fear not! But I must warn other unsuspecting women of what I believe is a mass sterilization effort by some ob/gyn practices on select types of women, namely women who may have genetic defects, women over the age of 35, and women who decline birth control and prefer rhythm method. They do not like it when the patient says no to big pharma and yes to self-care and education and will over ones self.
I had a radical form of birth control imposed on me a few years ago- which was disguised by my former doctor as medical care. I can say with first hand experience, that after being violated by a medical professional previously, and being nervous about getting care now- this office CAN HANDLE PTSD AND VICTIM ISSUES. You can still get the care that YOU NEED ladies; and I urge any woman who needs care, and is fearful of getting care because you were hurt before, to go see them and just tell them. They can handle your issues- ALL OF THEM! Do not be afraid to continue to seek medical care, we deserve THIS level of care and I am happy to report that I feel comfortable going back again and not afraid anymore because of the care provided to me at the women's center and by Mary, who is a very good provider and who handled my complicated issues with grace, dignity and a high level of professional attributes!
Well done ladies! I am so glad another trusted women told me to try going here, a physical therapist who has practically saved my life this past year. I was running out of options in the Reno area. It is important to be able to trust your doctor, do not let yourself be fooled by the old "Caligula's Horse Doctor" man. Read my other reviews, I have visited almost every provider in Reno over the past 25 years. I have lived here a very long time and feel like at last, there is a provider who is offering REAL CARE TO WOMEN. A wise person once said, the difference between sympathy and empathy is this: sympathy is feeling for a person, empathy is feeling WITH them. This place DOES DO empathy and healing, and WOMEN HAVE A PLACE TO GO IN RENO- THE WOMEN'S CENTER is great! Thank you so much! read more
