Would NOT rx HRT after my hysterectomy, even when suffering with symptoms and having no family history of breast cancer. This is a syndrome with doctors based on inaccurate old data, any Google could prove it. Plus, they lost three providers in 2 months and cancelled my annual appt short term. I've been very pleased with this office and all the staff and doctors I've interacted with for the last several years. Dr. Hutson, Dr. Heartacher, Karen, Paula, and all the nurses and admin staff are just lovely. Dr Hutson does some really cutting edge stuff for women and we're so lucky to have a doctor like her in Reno. The newish office in Sparks is lovely and is designed for women. This isn't your sterile, dated, ugly, uncomfortable GYN office. Each patient room has a cute rug, chair, calming music, and other feminine touches. Dr. Hutson is really a very special person, and a remarkable physician. She is incredibly kind and approachable with no hint of arrogance that is often found with other top notch surgeons. She takes the time to offer solutions, and give well described explanations so you can make a truly informed decision about the procedures she can help you with. I felt well cared for. I ended up having a a sacrocolpopexy that went well with little pain afterward., though a long recovery time needed so the graft can heal solidly. As for the staff? They have always been incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating with my changing schedule. My situation did not require immediate attention, so I had the time to schedule far enough out for them to give me dates and times that worked for me. But My Women's Center is an extraordinarily busy practice because of the excellent care given there. So don't expect to be seen immediately. Finding a slot can take months. But it is worth the wait if you are able. read more

I met with Dr. Hutson yesterday for a consult on gynecological surgery. I've scoured her page for some time looking for other reviews on this topic and perhaps due to stigma, nothing exists. Come on Yelp community--step up! I saw another surgeon who had learned from Dr. Hutson write a review about her surgical skills so I messaged with her to gain additional perspective and insight prior to meeting with Dr. Hutson. The website for MyWomen'sCenter is very informative and I SO appreciate that they list prices transparently for procedures not covered by insurance. The paperwork/check in process took a while. My check in was at 8, appointment was at 8:30, I got called back at 8:40. The assistant lead me to my room, took my blood pressure, introduced herself and then got the doctor. When I met Dr. H, I felt so comfortable. And that's not normally the experience when someone is looking at your lady parts. We chatted for about 20 minutes about my inquiries, procedures, experience, looked at a before and after album of her cosmetic work, etc. Then she stepped out and let me get in a gown to come back and do an exam, gave me a mirror so I could look at stuff with her (honestly, not even awkward) and discussed possibilities for me based on my anatomy and wishes. There was no up-sell for additional procedures, there was no pressure to follow though post-consult with scheduling surgery, she was very respectful of my wishes. The amount quoted to me was exactly what was posted on the website, no fees or hidden surprises. All I've done is a consult so I may have to update this review in the future but out-of-the-gate this was a 5 star experience. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Hutson and her staff. I am always treated very well from the time I walk in until I check out. I live in a small town and was referred to Dr. Hutson by my local OBGYN. I have been suffering with interstitial cystitis, atrophy, Lichen sclerosus and bladder prolapse for years. Her competent office and medical staff addressed my issues and tested me like I've never been tested before. They are very state of the art and current with women's issues. When I met with Dr. Hutson she was so down to earth and caring. She had no superiority complex like a lot of specialists and surgeons tend to have. I felt like I was talking to a old friend. She spent so much time with me and never did she seem rushed or like she had more important things to do. She assured me that I was a perfectly normal post menopausal woman and that she is confident surgery will let me live a normal lifestyle. Worst experience ever! Super rude and I kept saying how I'm in pain & was totally disregarded and she was so rough. A Pap smear can be uncomfortable sure but I've never been in pain like that. Hopefully dr Hutson is better. TMI but she didn't even use lube at first! I had to request it. I've had so many exams and she didn't even explain what she was doing or tell me what she was doing and usually any doctor I've had ALWAYS explains. For the last six years, I have been so discouraged and disappointed with the medical care here in Sparks/Reno. But My Woman's Center was a wonderful surprise. They did not keep me waiting, were instantly responsive to any request I made. Were caring and so very nice to everyone there. To my shock, the AA who saw me, Roxanne, came into the room, greeted me kindly and sat down to take some time to KNOW ME as a person!!! Dr. Hudson is a lifesaver!! I had a prolapsed bladder and prolapsed uterus which was most uncomfortable and negatively impacting the quality of my life. I am a retired nurse so I did my homework and got in touch with the "Nurses Grapevine," and the word was "Dr. Hudson is the best surgeon for this specialty." And they are absolutely right! Dr. Hudson did my surgery in April, and now that I am fully recovered what a difference! How wonderful it is to feel good, to be comfortable in my own body again. I thank God for Dr, Hudson! What I can only say was a shameful experience. Appointment for painful intercourse and IUD removal. Instead of addressing my main concern of painful intercourse they tested me for chlamydia and gonorrhea THEN told me to relax and use more lubricant during sex. Like going to the doctor was my first course of action on this?! I have no STDs, but still have pain. They just sent me marketing scheme meeting bullshit. I'm embarrassed and angry writing this, but be warned they don't address the patient's needs. read more

I had a hysterectomy here about 2 years ago but only now getting around to a stellar review! I was referred to Dr. Hutson by another surgeon who highly recommended her for this type of surgery. Dr Hutson is highly skilled in the most modern "robotic" type surgery. Elizabeth Hutson is very approachable and gave me all the time I needed to consult w/her. Her office recommends her surgery patients participate in a small group meditation / visualization class prior to surgery. I did participate in this class and it was calming and helpful. My surgery went very well and I was released from Renown surgery center a couple of hours after it. It was clear the surgery center staff / physicians knew Dr. Hutson and thought highly of her. The one glitch in establishing w/Dr Hutson originally is that she is very busy and wasn't taking new patients at the time. However, w/the other local surgeon's recommendation, I was able to have an initial appointment a few months down the calendar. As I'm now an established patient, I now have annual gyncological exams w/one of the nurse practioners at this office. read more

The front desk girl talks over you to tell you that you need a referral even though you started off the call with I WAS REFERRED and then tries to argue with you about if your Medical coverage is through your employer or not. I can't help my job has the same insurance COMPANY as the state Medicaid but rest assured I pay for my medical. so best of luck to anyone in the boat. This is my second visit to this office and I'm very happy with their service, especially my nurse practitioner, Hannah Sauer. She is very professional, yet warm and compassionate. I see her for my annual check up and she does DO a thorough evaluation of my overall health, not just physically, but of my overall emotional well-being as well. I especially loved that she already reviewed my chart before seeing me. She understood my concerns and reasons for anxiety, and she was quick to alleviate my fears. She made me feel very comfortable, which is rare being in a clinic. Hannah listened, and did not brush away my fears. She's very knowledgeable and offered a variety of options for my treatment. She made me feel like we were in this together, and that there is hope. I loved that about her. I am so happy I have found her, and I highly recommend her to all the ladies out there. The office itself is easy to get to, has plenty of parking, and nicely decorated. The staff are friendly and takes the initiative to ask questions. Every now and then, they hold open houses regarding new products and innovations in women care. I secured a spot and can't wait to report back. read more

My GP referred me to eight doctors, had many tests: colonoscopy, 2 MRIs and 2 cat scans trying to figure out what was wrong with me. This spanned 8 months with no results other than I was normal. I went to the Woman's Center in Sparks after waiting nearly eight weeks for an appointment which was terribly hard to get with too many phone calls due to lack of office help. The doctor I saw did not listen to my symptoms that turned out to be a prolapse, but basically said I was fine and I should look at pain management. It was a local OBGYN that finally identified the medical mystery two months later, developed an action plan to help me towards resolving the problem. When I asked the local doctor why hadn't the tests identified the prolapse - he responded because I was lying down for the tests and the prolapse wasn't visible because it was my own skin. Couldn't be more thankful for that doctors knowledge and for actually listening to my symptoms which never changed over time, and for defining the problem that hadn't been identifiable despite all the tests.. read more

Sadly my GYN of many years retired, trying to find a new one that's good and takes new patients requires an act of God. Why??? I called Elizabeth Hutson for an appointment expecting to see the actual doctor, instead i was seen by a nurse practitioner initials MP, she asked a bunch of questions that had nothing to do with anything, no other GYN has ever asked. Then she attempted to do a pap and stabbed me nowhere near the correct area, and couldn't understand why I almost came off the table in horrible pain, it's not like she couldn't see!!! She also couldn't understand when i told her there was no opening there, again, she's looking at it and continues to miss??!! Then she doesn't bother to use lube and wonders why it's not working, tells me I'm too dry, ya think, and that she can't do the exam!!!! Says use this ointment and come back?? Then she insists I have something I don't and prescribes something that could have hurt me had I listened to her. No lab work no nothing, just what she decided. Very poor practice for someone that is supposed to have a medical license! When I asked to see the actual doctor I was told she only sees surgery patients... well if I would have been told that in the first place I would never have gone there. the absolute worst exam EVER. She wouldn't work for me for very long. And I know I'm not the only one she's done this to. I had to go to another doctor to get everything straightened out and get proper care, she didn't have any of the trouble this woman did and couldn't understand why she did what she did or said!!! Plus I was pushed to get $3000.00 of treatments not covered by insurance. All you see all over the office is some kind of laser treatments for a lot of money. I will never go back, in the future I'll see a real doctor that actually knows what they are doing! read more

I do like going to the women's center, tho it does take about 4-5 months to get in. I have seen Mary NP twice & is very knowledgeable! I have seen Paula RN and she is also very good. While waiting for my appt. the front desk phone rang off the hook, yes this practice is busy- I'm not sure why the negative review for "practice not taking new patients." Alot of MD providers aren't taking new pt, just try someone else! Shout out to Kimberly at front desk she was so pleasant & helpful-she didn't rush thru my check out! Scheduled another appt for F/U within a week. She made sure I knew to call to schedule my Ultrasound..."they won't call you." Great customer service skills. read more

My wife called to get some information regarding establishing care with this group, but the front desk lady was rude. We have prominence insurance so there's on two groups that take our insurance. This one and the Reno Tahoe women's health which is south of town. She asked if we saw our primary but we are a ppo and do not need to in order to establish care. Attempted to make an appointment with Dr Hutson for an urgent gyn problem, not a Well Woman exam. After being on hold for 5+ minutes, I was abruptly "disconnected." Called back and before the receptionist would even acknowledge that they were accepting new patients, I was quizzed on my insurance. After passing the insurance query, I was asked what I needed to be seen for and was told that I would be scheduled with the NP...but not for SIX MONTHS! It didn't matter whether I needed to be seen ASAP or in the future for a routine gyn visit.... SIX MONTHS! After working for an OB-GYN for 10+ years in the past (as well as 2 other Specialties for a total of 28 years) and being reluctant to see any medical providers unless absolutely necessary, if I'm requesting an urgent appointment, it's urgent that I be seen ASAP. Healthcare in Nevada is absolutely shameful! In the past, contracts with insurance companies specify the timeframe appointments must be available for New Patient, routine, follow up and urgent conditions. As a woman, I'm entitled to receive necessary care and treatment from a gynecologist and not be pushed off on an "Urgent Care" situation or an emergency room. Dr Hutson, I do hope you take this negative review of your patient "selection" and scheduling seriously. read more

I got an IUD in January and my doctor was very nice. Her assistant was too. However, I called today to get a check up appointment because I've been having minor issues that I'm concerned about and the front desk was very rude. Not exactly what you need to hear when you're panicking about your health. She directed my phone call to a voicemail where I left my info, so hopefully scheduling won't be an issue. This woman needs to retire. Her answer to everything is to have a hysterectomy. Not to be ageist, but it's clear she hasn't had any recent education. Unfortunately, although I love my doctor, I cannot give this place a good review. Karen is helpful and comforting and I love her as my doctor, but it is the front desk staff that ruin the whole experience. Not only are the brusque when you walk in the door, but even after it is horrible. Let me explain. I had to deal with some bill discrepancies and I called billing several times, even left messages and they never called me back. I called front desk and they very rudely told me she wasn't it. Several days in a row? When does she work? I didn't say that, obviously, but the woman on the phone offered to take a message begrudgingly. I declined and resolved to keep calling back until I reached her. When I did, we argued about address, you see one bill was sent correctly, the other somewhere else. I had both in front of me, but she claimed I was mistaken. Regardless, we eventually took care of it, but the whole situation leaves an awful taste in my mouth. If I didn't like my doctor, I would be gone in an instant. read more

I'd been having physical issues for years, and my previous GYN seemed reluctant to deal with my concerns, so I asked around, and Dr. Hutson was recommended to me. As I'd mentioned, I'd waited for years to deal with my issues, so waiting a little longer made no difference to me. If my problem was more urgent, I'd have made an emergency appointment with my primary care physician or gone to an ER. I called the office, was spoken to courteously by the answering receptionist, and was able to get an appointment in a timely manner. After visiting the beautiful facility in Sparks, and after speaking with Dr. Hutson on my initial visit, I felt confident and switched GYNs. The facility is modern, clean, and like visiting a spa, and when going to a doctor's office for serious health concerns, I need all the "calm" I can get. Dr. Hutson listened to my concerns and spoke with me in great detail about all my options. I ended up having two surgical procedures to fix the issues I'd had for years. Issues I'd dealt with and had grown accustomed to for so long, I hadn't realized they'd altered my life so much until I'd gotten them taken care of. My operation went smoothly, and after speaking with Dr. Hutson post-operatively, I knew the surgical procedures were definitely necessary. I've had very little to no pain after the procedures and am healing without any problems. Dr. Hutson also recommended an in-office laser series that have helped in my post-operative recovery and the overall strengthening of aged tissue that had become lax and desensitized. Honestly, for lack of a better phrase, I feel like a new woman! Dr Hutson is one the most compassionate doctors I have ever had the privilege to have provide medical care for me. I just had surgery with her yesterday and as far as surgeries go, mine yesterday could not have gone any better. The Preparing for Surgery class she offers at her office helped me tremendously. This was the 5th surgery I have ever had and the most calm I've ever been before surgery thanks to her generosity in providing her patients this preparation process. I am healing nicely and am still in shock that I could be in this great of shape after major surgery. Nurse Paula has been following my care since the beginning and has been a God send as well for some serious pain issues I had been having. I trust this staff so much that I want my daughter to start care with Dr Hutson and staff. I will leave another review on the Saint Mary's Regional Hospital page as well, but everyone there was also outstanding through the entire process. I had three different nurses say that Dr. Hutson is the best gynecological surgeon and her patients are in great shape after her operations. I am a huge baby when I have to do anything medically and get really nervous and anxious and have on occasion fainted at different doctors. I have told the couple drs I've seen here what a sensitive person I am and they have taken amazing care of me. It can be embarrassing to be such a scardy cat of the Dr as an adult but they have always talked to me like I'm normal and make me feel really cared for. I was new to the area when I picked them for my women's dr and I'm so glad I did pick them. They have made what has always been uncomfortable for me pretty much the best it could possibly be.
