I said I will pay it next Friday when I get paid. The billing office told me they won't refill my prescription until than. Its like 80 bucks. I asked if I was dying and needed the refill would the take care of it than or are they that petty over a small balance. The billing office informed me they aren't being petty and if I am dying because I need a medication to take myself to the hospital. I keep coming back because the medical staff is top notch, but the front desk and billing department need some retraining in customer service and basic human decency. The old nurse who was great when I first started coming here now works at my childrens primary care doctors' office said she left because of the same front desk staff. That shows that a seasoned professional who provided stellar care left because of the same workers. I'm sure they will leave a response about how its my fault and how I'm rude, but come on, such a simple request. I do intent to pay the bill but no need to be condescending and indecent.

If there were an option to choose no stars I would…read more It saddens me to leave such a negative review. When I initially was seen at Pacific Cardiovascular Associates (seen by the nurse practitioner) I felt heard and cared for the way a patient SHOULD feel when being seen by a provider. She ordered testing of my heart and placed me on beta blockers to address the PVC's I was experiencing. Once I got pregnant she switched me to a different medication that is safe for pregnancy. I have been on that same medication for over 2 years. To bring this up to date: I ended up in Hoag NB with bradycardia among other symptoms back in July. I HAD NOT BEEN TAKING THE BETA BLOCKERS (they are only as needed when my PVC's are to overwhelming). At the time of my ER hospital visit I hadn't taken them in OVER 3 weeks. I was told to follow up with cardiology so reached out to my PCP to get an authorization. I was told by PCA since it was an urgent follow up I could call and have it scheduled right away. When I did receive an approval from my insurance I called to schedule but was told the soonest available was over a month out. I can understand that but based on what my last conversation was with them it contradicted what I had been told. Not a huge issue I understand these things are not in anyone's control at times. The day of my appointment I was scheduled to see Dr Champion. Upon his entering the patient room there were no questions asking what I was experiencing, what has been going on currently and no follow up on symptoms. He immediately started with "well based on the medication your taking you can expect to have it lower your heart rate as well as your blood pressure." Mind you I hadn't been taking the medication. Every time I tried to speak to explain that, he continued to interrupt me by saying "yeah, I read the report" over and over again. I don't know exactly what report he's referring to, If he HAD read the report, he would have seen the notes stating the medication had not been a factor in the bradycardia. Finally after multiple times of trying to communicate with him I asked "can I please speak" his response to me was "WOW!" After that, the whole visit went even further down hill. When I was stating experiencing the bradycardia I was met with a very rude "well how do you know that?" It was not a pleasant conversation. Every time I brought something up I was met with a condescending attitude and tone. I honestly don't know how this dr is practicing medicine with how he is. I'm not sure how he addresses the majority of his patients but the unprofessional approach and lack of patient care and concern is very alarming. This has all been so very disheartening. All of the waiting to have a "follow up" has not resolved one thing. And the very next day after my appointment with Dr Champion he denied a request for a refill on my beta blockers. If he would have listened to anything he would have known that the bradycardia occurs only on occasion and I ONLY take my medication as needed when my heart rate is normal. The same way someone who may be prescribed a medication that is not safe to drive with only takes it when not planning on getting behind the wheel. I've called the office 2 days in a row and have been unable to speak to anyone. I've left messages asking for a return call and nothing. Now, the only medication that has worked to relieve my symptoms of PVC's isn't readily available. This feels very malicious and unnecessary. A professional acting as unprofessional as you can imagine. I will be filing a complaint with the state as well as my healthcare provider.

He didn't even provide us with any instructions about the monitor and the importance of taking the medication EVERY DAY. I requested a copy of the notes from my visit and noticed a discrepancy between what occurred during the appointment and what was documented in the medical notes. It's very important for medical records to be accurate and complete. Especially if you're dealing with heart problems. There was also an issue with communication from the front desk regarding the monitor. She provided us with the incorrect information about the monitor. She informed us that the monitor would be sent to us by mail and that we would need to follow the provided instructions to place it on the patient ourselves. I found out later that the monitor was received by the office, but we were never contacted to let us know that it had arrived or to provide further instructions. Phone is not a reliable form of communication. Their phone starts with 866 which is spam. This is unbelievable. The office should have provided a clear written notification such as a letter or text message. Relying on a phone call, when patient is expecting the monitor by mail, can lead to confusion and delay. I wish I had taken my family member to another doctor.
