I stumbled across a Mycha machine in Koreatown and was intrigued, so I tried one. I had pretty low expectations for vending machine boba, but I can honestly say Mycha beats out some physical places I've been to! I tried the mango jasmine tea and it was delicious. The price was on the low end compared to other boba places here at $4.25. I love that the drinks don't contain ice since the machine keeps them cool - I was a bit surprised at how much drink I got for the size, then realized I'm used to ice taking a good chunk of the drink volume away! I'm definitely going back to try more flavors! I'm interested in seeing whether the drinks containing jelly hold up well. I would love to see more of these machines throughout LA! read more

Like most people in the US in contrast to people in East Asia, this was my first time buying (boba/asian) tea drinks out of a vending machine. I've tried the Jasmine milk tea and the mango green tea. Other options included oolong milk tea, mango lassi, vietnamese coffee. Good variety and decent quality. Depending on how high your standards, I think some may not like the milk tea. It had a faint familiar taste of proper Jasmine milk tea but was weak overall. I could barely taste tea if at all. Mango green tea was better. Not too sweet and decent tea strength. I'll be generous and give 4 stars but idk if I'll try more drinks in the future and need to update my review. read more

When I was pregnant, a nice, cold bubble tea was what I craved for. I found this bubble tea ATM at the lower level of Block 37 near the red/blue CTA stations on Yelp. Eventually, I had to control my frequency of visiting this "store" because it would be too much sugar in my system if I didn't manage to find a way to stop myself! I think I have tried almost all the flavors they offer. There is not a ton of choices: 7 or 8 of them at a time, depending on availability. "Mango Lassi" used to be my go-to since there was no (or less) caffeine in it. Nowadays I'm not so choosy and am willing to take in all the caffeine to keep my energy going: jasmine oolong tea and taro milk tea are my favorites...among all other favorites...lol. Please note that not all options carry tapiocas in the beverages. However, the large straws made for lifting these bubbles are typically in stock, even though there have been occasions that these items were out for the night. I usually would come in the evening times before heading to work, so I have seen some drink options are also out of for the time being. The prices are right in my opinion. A small cup costs around 4 to 5 bucks, while the large one costs around 5 to 6 bucks. The only bummer is that nothing is customizable if you want less sugar. There is no ice in the cup, but all of the drinks are kept in a refrigerated condition and I like the temperature just fine. I don't think the machine allows cash transactions, but plastics and electronic payments are accepted. read more

Surprisingly good boba for a vending machine (even better than some boba places I've been to). Keywords: vending machine - I wasn't expecting that when I first heard about a boba place in the mall. (It's located at the lowest level across from Gayle's grilled cheese, by the redline pedway). Have never had issues with it needing restocking when I've gone during the afternoon or early evening. I've had the oolong, taro, and vietnamese coffee - all were pretty good (oolong is my favorite). Been here a few times now and you know what, it's pretty good! So far I've tried the roasted oolong bubble tea and the mango lassi and both were solid. The flavors could be a little stronger, but I appreciated the modest sweetness levels and that the bubbles had a good texture (and I think they were the healthier agar agar variety? Don't quote me on the "healthier" part, but they definitely were not the usual tapioca type - more jello-like). It's also nice to see the ingredients listed on the small sticker on the side of the drinks, and that they're all lactose-free. The size of the drinks is pretty decent for the price (~5$), too, and the machine seems to get restocked frequently. If you come at a good time there are quite a few different drinks available. I did not realize it was a vending machine. I walked around 37 Block for 20 minutes before realizing it was this tiny vending machine tucked in a corner behind the famer fresh machine. I was dubious about quality, and very worried that the lid would give when falling out of the machine, but all was okay! I got the vietnamese coffee. The straw was a boba straw, not a regular one, which was expected yet a little dissapointing. Overall it was good. I am a self proclaimed boba snob. I was honestly skeptical about milk tea from a vending machine, especially when I haven't found milk tea to my liking from store fronts in downtown Chicago. Most milk teas that I have tried are usually too watered down (so you cannot taste the tea flavor) and/or too sweet. Mycha actually blew my expectations. The tea flavor was strong, but not overly powerful and the sweetness was a tad sweeter than I would like, but not overly sweet. The price was very reasonable. While I appreciate some of the drinks had agar boba, I would have loved the teas to have tapioca (honey boba); however, I know boba doesn't stay good in a drink for too long, which is probably why there weren't drinks with the traditional honey boba. This is my go-to when I am in downtown Chicago. I hope they bring some vending machines to San Francisco. They also have five star customer service--I had an issue on my first visit and they were very kind and fast and went beyond the call of duty in making sure all was right. read more

This spot happened to pop up on Yelp and I decided to hunt for it inside the mall. BOBA VENDING MACHINE! Genius idea ! Now, at this point you're probably wondering -- how does this work? I believe the drinks are made fresh (within 24-48 hours). The date made will be labeled. It tasted great! I'm a boba connoisseur. There was an assortment of variety from Thai milk tea, jasmine milk tea, viet coffee, and mango lassi. We ordered the viet coffee and mango lassi. While the viet coffee wasn't super authentic, it tasted good for a vending machine. I actually liked the mango lassi a lot. It didn't taste very syrupy or overly sweet. The product is solid. They also offered both small and large sizes. The small was about $4 and large $5. Different drinks will vary but they're all around that cost. This is the coolest invention since the internet!!! There is a 24/7 milk tea machine in Block 37 on state street! It was kind of hard to find but you can enter block 37 through the Washington or Lake red line entrance on State or Dearborn and you'll see the machine on the bottom floor next to the Farmers Fridge machine. There's also a security guard there 24/7 who can direct you. It was a bit of an adventure finding it, but that is part of the fun! Anyways the machine was fully stocked when we got there at 2 am and it had a range of the classic flavors, from matcha to Thai tea, oolong, mango lasi, coffee, and jasmine. We tried the matcha, Thai tea, and oolong. The match and Thai tea were great but the oolong was very watery and lacked any flavoring. Also none of them had boba in it, probably because the tapioca doesn't stay fresh long. Each drink was around $5, so pretty on par with regular milk tea shops. The milk tea definitely lacks something without the boba to chew on but if you are craving that milk tea at all hours, it's nice to know this is there, I just wish there were more locations! read more
